"I do not envy me....all I can hear any more are father's words. You are the man take care of your sister. Even if we both know very well that man is a very flimsy word it is a curse laid upon me by the culture in which we were born." He sighed before stopping to stare off into the distance as the other spoke. Of course he'd pondered it many times thought of letting go such a terrible burden but then he remembered why exactly he still carried on. "The children.....I will not let it fall because they believe, hope and wish. They look up in the sky at night and are comforted by the light of the moon that I ferry. And I remember that I was forced to be the Moon God but I choose to be the protector of children. And as long as even one of them needs and finds comfort in that light I will not let it go. Even though they will grow to forget and insanity take me I will remember."

"Follow me! I will allow you to tell me your story and I may just let you leave my halls with your life." Mani hissed as he turned his back on the intruder. They were very lucky that he had not killed them and left out their head as a warning to others. But he was curious of them and would live as long as they served to be entertaining.

"In these what may be my last hours I can only hope I give Skoll extreme heartburn. That would be very enjoyable for me. He'll die anyway but a little extra suffering never hurt anyone."

I have a theory
I think that all Jotuns are skilled liars. I was doing some research and it seemed like in all the myths they could have totally got one over on the Gods if it wasn't for Loki. I also think that The Asgardians and Vanir aren't used to people lying so they're are very easily fooled. I mean all the cool shit they have and have managed to keep was because Loki a Jotun. Either he smoothed talked some dwarves or smoothed talked some fellow Jotun to get and keep it. Like it seems like the Gods underestimated the species as a whole like they were to dimwitted too be of use. Then they steal some important godly shit and Odin's like 'oh shit let me call my blood brother up to help.'. And then by the time anyone realizes how smart they are its like Bam!

Fenrisúlfr, Hati & Sköll
According to the lore regarding Ragnarök there are two wolves, named Hati and Sköll, who chase the moon and sun. Hati will catch and devour the moon, Sköll will catch and devour the sun and all the stars will cease to shine. The earth will shatter and shake, mountains will come crashing down and this will enable Fenrisúlfr to break free of his chains, signalling the beginning of Ragnarök!

Quote
"This darkness also gave Nidhogg, the serpent that lay deep in Niflheim curled around the root of Yggdrasil, the strength he needed. Nidhogg bit through the root, shaking the mighty ash tree to the heights of Asgard. The moment his teeth bit through, cocks crowed, alerting all to the fact that the end was near. In Niflheim, Hel’s blood-red rooster crowed its warning. Gullinkambi, the cock of Asgard, screeched his signal at the same time. From his perch high above Valhala, Gullinkambi could be heard throughout the realm of the noble Einheriar.”
myths of the world: Norse Gods and Heroes by Morgan J. Roberts
i can just picture all the gods fearing their deaths as the rooster caw while Hel is just laughing because she’s going to be feasting.
