I'm 41 now. It's fascinating to see me aging right before my very eyes and feel both fine and fucked up about it. I was raised a Jewish atheist in a chaotic household. Fight flight freeze fawn is what I've known and to let go and let God has been, like most things, a self-taught practice with loads of inspiration along the way. This body, this beautiful, faithful friend of a body is my vessel from one side to the other. It's the bridge across forever, not built to last. Hard to accept, to surrender.

"If It Kills Me" is another song about another time I had depression and clawed my way out of the hole I'd burrowed down into. This shit is real. Depression, I mean. Music is therapy and so is, you know, actual therapy with a mental health professional. I dedicate this tune to my dog Reina and to every cemetery I've ever visited.

This is a song about two ambivalent hotties weighed down by past baggage.

growing up in neverland
I wrote this song when I hit a deep depression in my mid-thirties, wondering if I was aging out of my right to be a human woman in Los Angeles. Being from this place is a mind-fuck. The funny thing is that no one and nothing else gets in my way more than I have, imaginary hurdles thrown across the path anytime I start to get anywhere.
"Growing Up In Neverland" is me crying til I laugh and laughing til I cry.

I covered CCR's "Long As I Can See the Light" for Hulu's new mini-series "We Were the Lucky Ones." Thank you to Alex and Tommy at The Crystal Creative for asking me to sing on this, and to Tal Richards for an epic instrumental production.

My first single of the year is a song I wrote and produced with Flea! Follow the #BandCamp link to buy a digital download and read the lyrics, which has always been my favorite part of deep-diving into a song.

Many of these tracks started as seeds for the film/trailer world; others were for the "song a day for a month" challenge in July 2021. It's easy to get caught up in the trap of creating for a purpose or in support of someone/something else; I wanted to make art for art's sake and let these demos exist as God intended, naked and unafraid. This is the first full-length album I've ever put out, and even so, it's in a non-traditional form. What a vulnerable and exciting feeling! Spores tells the story of a loop I've replayed more times than I care to remember. I hope that in releasing this project, I can release that old pattern, too. Spores also signifies the intention of its stems being available for remixing/reimagining. I like the thought of them scattering across the globe and finding new life in places I've never been and may never go. Visit https:www.msbrittwarner.com to learn more.

This #SongADay experiment has been very fun. All improvised vocal experiments in an ambient drone style. Full results of January 2021 available on #Bandcamp.
