I believe the grave in Midnight Motorist is Susie’s dog. I'm not making this because I wholeheartedly believe it, but I think it’s some very interesting food for thought.
Evidence that Susie’s dog is in the grave:
Point A: Secret Grave; We assume that the dirt pile in Midnight Motorist is a grave. The code features the dirt pile being called ā€˜secret grave’
There are several theories on it ranging from Dual-process’ theory claiming it’s crying child after being spring locked to Mrs. Afton. I rather like a lot of these theories, though I think it’s fun to throw my own two cents in. Grave does not inherently mean it is human, it could easily be for an animal.
In Ultimate Custom Night schoolgirl chica describes convincing her crush to come over because she knows about his dog is. In reality chica had killed the dog to get his attention. It has since been believes that these scenes featured are how William got his victims. It wouldn't be a stretch to assume he would need to do something with the body of the dog after killing it.
It would not be a murder committed in the pizzeria nor would a dog corpse be something he could keep around. Burying away but in a place that if it got dug up wouldn't immediately pin the blame on him is not a poor idea at all. Of course, this is speculation and circumstantial evidence. But! We are just getting started.
Point B: Fruity Maze Connection; In Five Nights at Freddy’s 6 there are three lore heavy mini games. These games are midnight motorist, the security puppet game, and fruity maze.
The first two are connected by the fact midnight motorist takes place directly after the security puppet mini game. This an agreed on thing within the community due to how the title of the track playing in Midnight Motorist is ā€˜Later That Night,’ implying that after the murder of Charlie featured in the security puppet mini game Midnight Motorist occurs.
That’s all fine and dandy, but! What’s weird is how disconnected Fruity Maze is to it all. In case you did not remember Fruith maze is a packman style game where a girl collects fruit. Slowly however the fruit turns into her dead dog, it’s coffin, and dirt getting dug up. This implies that fruity maze should be connected to the two other stories.
If you assumed the grave was her dead dog, then it would connect fruity maze to the rest of the story!
Point C: Death Order; The death order is a painful thing to talk about within the series. Is Charlie first to die? Last? When did the missing children’s incident happen? Between the crying child and Charlie’s death? After both? Before Elizabeth’a death?
Now I am NOT at all here to solve that. I got nothing beyond something I would like to bring up. I often see the five victims treated as one entity within timelines.
For example (this is not at all my timeline) someone may list it out as: Chalie dies, Crying Child dies, Missing Children’s incident happens, Elizabeth dies.
There's nothing wrong with this, however, when has it ever been states that all five victims had to be killed at the exact same time?
In Ultimate Custom Night Withered Chica says her famous line ā€œI was the first, I have seen everythingā€ implying that Chica was in fact killed first. But! Whenever this line is brought up it is inevitable for someone to not quote Henry saying ā€œa wound first inflicted on meā€ during his ending speech of Five Nights at Freddy’s 6
It is rather difficult to place chica or Charlie first in the death order because people want to state that all five children would have died before Charlie then. My question is why couldn't Charlie have died after Chica or during the missing children’s incident?
Again I'm not here to solve the death order. What I am trying to instead get at is that the dog being buried there does not mean Susie had to die before Charlie or after. Instead I would like to focus on Susie being the ā€˜first’ or at the very least an early death
It would not be crazy to assume that William had killed and buried the dog around the time period of Charlie’s death. If we are going with Susie dying first we can say narratively it makes sense for the dog to be buried there specifically so he can kill Susie to start his murder spree. He would lure her to the back with promises of her dog (maybe having it’s collar, maybe just words, etc.) Yet! If you believe Charlie died first there is no reason the dogs death couldn’t have been an accident.
A man who is know for (allegedly) drunk driving (or at the very least driving the wrong way down the rods) it would not be surprising for him to have hit a dog in an accident. We know William is not a great guy, so burying it to hide the fact he killed it is not a crazy stretch. That also could imply that after he kills Charlie and witnesses the puppet’s possession he has a tool.
C’mon, like william a man hungry for the tools of importality wouldn't pounce at the chance to lure a young blonde girl to the back rooms after hearing she’s missing a dog he KNOWS he’s already taken care of.
The point of this point (haha points) is that nk matter your perception of the death order it does make sense.
Conclusion:
The secret grave features in Midnight Motorist is Susie’s dead dog. This is supported by schoolgirl chica talking about killing a dog, the dead dog and shoveling featured in fruity maze, along with plausible reasons for William needed to get rid of the dog body. This not only connects Fruity Maze to the other two games, but provides a reason for it to be there in the first place. This is not a solid unshakeable theory, but I rather like it. The idea of William killing the dog on accident and later using it in his favor.
Either way! It’s something to think about.
Extra: when talking with my girlfriend we also discussed the old theory of mangle being pocessed by an animal and how William could have potentially dug up the dog to try and put it in an animatronic. Or! Killed the dog with the purpose of experimenting on it in mind and later burying it so it wouldn't be in the mangle or what not. Just a fun thing to include!
If you made it here, thanks for reading!! Feel free to correct me or disagree. What’s right? What’s wrong? With a canon as convoluted as this, who even knows?
