Eddie, who had made a place for Buck in his life. Who had looked at him, hand on his shoulder, and said “There’s no one in the world I would trust more with my son, Buck.” Who listens to Buck’s rants and watches documentaries with him even though Eddie hates them.

Buck was exhausting to him. How long had it been like that for Eddie? How many times had Eddie gone along with something for Buck’s sake? Did the whole team think he was exhausting? Did Chris?

Exhausting.

Fine. That’s fine. Buck could fix this. He would just… be less exhausting.

im loving how 911 is very, very blatantly paralleling buddie with the main established married couple each episode. chimney completely supporting and being there for maddie, buck doing the same thing for eddie. bobby joking about athena not reminding him about hen’s birthday, buck doing the same with eddie. whether it’s support or just lighthearted old married couple behaviour, they’re doing it. and it’s so obvious. it’s so so obvious.

“You heard the whole thing?” Eddie feeling uncomfortable about other people (his CLOSE FRIENDS mind you) listening in on his facetimes with Buck. They weren’t even having a particularly private or secret conversation, they were just talking about Chris. Chimney is even a parent, he could give sound advice. But Eddie was having his Buck Time. He wanted just to talk to Buck and Buck alone. He goes to only Buck for support, and he doesn’t want to involve anyone other than Buck in those conversations.

They are emphasising over and over again how Buck and Eddie’s relationship is DIFFERENT to their relationships with the other members of the 118.

It’s the way that Buddie will genuinely change things for MLM relationships in media.

For a show to portray them both as queer in their own right but have them stay masculine- like come on they’re firefighters!- and let them still be so stupidly in love with each other.

Imagine how important that would be to little boys around the world. To see that you can be strong and fearless but still love so so deeply and with everything you are. To love another man so unashamedly.

To show little boys that there is no one way to be gay. That just because Justin likes to wear crop tops and paint his nails doesn’t mean that you have to change from liking your basketball shorts and beanies.

That there’s no right/wrong way to be gay.

It’s just going to change things is all.
