I write? 😨
Yes I do write.
I write a lot :]. So, my lovely fellows, I introduce;
Illusions. A pada-wan, codywan and Ahsoka-centred work originally posted on ao3 that I will start posting on here as well.
Here’s the information and starting chapter, and if you’ve read my codywan week submissions, it’s based off of that.
Here is the ao3 link, or keep reading to read the first chapter here!
When Cody was made, it was no normal.. making. Cloning. He was a clone. He had a number. He was a number. Just- Just a number.
That was until Shaak Ti revealed he had been specifically chosen, his DNA specially (and expensively) modified. He would grow at a normal rate after he hit a certain age. Which was fine, well, he would live to see his brothers die but-
He was different.
Different in the way that- Well, he was a force-sensitive.
The only one of all of his brothers.
So when he reached age, he was told of this secret. He was sent off to the Jedi Temple. No one knew how this specific age growth would work, no one knew if his body would react to it well, no one even knew if he was actually a force-sensitive. And, worst of all, no one but the Jedi Council Members, plus Anakin Skywalker, knew that he was a Clone resulted from an army requested by a Jedi who died years ago. He could be honest, he was honest, and he was himself, it's just a matter of time before the secret is out.
If one person believed and trusted in him more than Shaak Ti, it was Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan was still a Padawan at the crisp age of 16 when Cody entered the Temple for the first time. He was only physically a year younger than Kenobi, but still learning and growing. Obi-Wan couldn't help but take a liking to him- He taught him what Shaak Ti wouldn't, allowing him to excel in the Force quickly.
Their first meeting was.. Well, maybe best to start there, and catch up.
**
"Ah, hello there!" Obi-Wan says, double-taking as he desperately tries to keep up with his Master's long strides. He was supposed to be greeting the new Padawan of Shaak Ti's, but of course his Master had other plans. He'll catch up with him later.
"Hello," The newcomer says, curiously watching as Obi-Wan almost calls for Anakin before the Knight disappears around a corner, and he sighs.
"You're Cody, correct? Master Shaak Ti's new Padawan?" Obi-Wan smiles, pushing his long hair back. It wasn’t incredibly long, in fact just slightly shorter than his Master’s. His bangs framed his face but often were in his eyes anyway. It was straight but curled a little when wet, not to mention it turns to a nasty brown colour instead of the bright auburn that his hair usually is. The Council insisted it wasn't tradition for him to have his hair quite this long, Anakin insisted it looked better. Obi-Wan (secretly) agreed, naturally.
"Correct," Cody repeats. "And, you?.."
"Obi-Wan Kenobi, pleasure to meet you," The Jedi shake hands, normally a bow was customary, but Cody was new, he had much to learn, and Obi-Wan thought it easier to ease him into it. He was quite nice looking; vibrant, dark skin with short, pitch-black curls. His eyes were nice, and he still had the boy-ish look all young teens did, but Obi-Wan saw the maturity in him already. His Padawan braid was correctly at length, Shaak Ti had just recently found him. Obi-Wan recalled she found him on a rainy planet, on a farm with his family. He was very strong in the Force, she could not leave him, so she became his Master. His braid bands were appropriate, he had blue for mechanics study and red for piloting and green for the Living Force. Cody didn't have the yellow or red band many Padawans did, he wasn't a Padawan before 13 standard years of age and he wasn't yet 16.
Obi-Wan found himself staring for a moment too much, quickly adjusting his posture and attitude, clearing his throat. Cody looks away, cringing when Obi-Wan chuckles quietly at the flush on his face. He had been staring too.
Oh well, that was a situation Obi-Wan didn't mind at all.
"I'll show you to your quarters, then around the Temple, then maybe I can take you to my quarters for a cup of tea. I'd love to get to know you, I hear we'll be working together very soon," Obi-Wan smiles as they start through the Temple, repeating what Anakin had told him to tell Cody.
"Uh.. Okay," Cody speaks carefully. Obi-Wan just smiles at him reassuringly.
*
"You should have the same quarters as Master Shaak Ti," Obi-Wan mutters, almost as a question. They were walking to the level he knew Master Ti was on. He used to be on that level, before his first Master.. Passed. He'd only had Qui-Gon as a Master for two years, but he missed him dearly.
"Yes, she mentioned that," The younger confirms.
"Ah, alright, then I do know where we're going!" Obi-Wan grins as he keeps leading the other there.
The door slid open, and he helps Cody settle to his bedroom in the conjoined quarters. Obi-Wan hoped he'd be visiting the Ti/Cody team a lot.
"Wait, Cody, do you have another name? Or.. Are you simply Cody?" Obi-Wan seems to realise no one had ever mentioned a surname in reference to the new Padawan. It wasn't necessarily uncommon to not have a surname, but it was still.. well, common.
"Oh- Uh," Cody seems to think for a moment, shuffling his feet awkwardly.
"Sorry if that was off putting or rude. I'm a bit used to being blunt, I guess my Master's attitude has rubbed onto me a tad too much," Obi-Wan offers a caring smile, putting his hand on Cody's shoulder.
"No, it's fine, no need to worry," Cody returns his smile, meeting his gaze. "I'm just Cody."
"Alright," His smile turns to a grin before the atmosphere becomes awkwardly silent.
*
After showing Cody around the Temple, they now sit in the Kenobi/Skywalker team conjoined quarters. Cody looked the most relaxed and comfortable he had been since stepping foot on Coruscant, it seemed. He loved the tea, enough to make a remark on it.
Of course, Obi-Wan made it so Cody would like it. He had been on-edge and anxious the entire time. He just wanted Cody to finally relax. It was a brew Anakin absolutely hated, not for the taste, for the effect. His Master was always gone, always doing something. When Obi-Wan got tired of it, he snuck in the brew in place of Anakin's caf. Anakin fell for it, every time. And of course, he would be asleep in a matter of minutes. Obi-Wan would just smile and haul his Master into his bed, then inform the Council he hadn't gotten up on time, and he absolutely needed the rest. Those days were the worst, because not only did the Council send Obi-Wan in place of Anakin(regardless of severity), he would return to their quarters exhausted. His Master would give him the same stern talk, before ultimately going back to sleep. The Knight slept for at least a single rotation before fully waking again. Obi-Wan was convinced he only woke to lecture Obi-Wan out of pure stubbornness and, of course, spite.
They sit in a finally comfortable silence, Obi-Wan's tea brew being different from his new friend's. He didn't want to put himself to sleep, he had no need. He may add that, while Anakin thinks otherwise, no drugging is involved with the brew. He could feel Cody's signature calm into a flowing, soft amber.
They both startle slightly as the quiet is interrupted by the door sliding open.
"Padawan, where have you been?" Anakin asks, leaning on the back of his couch beside Obi-Wan.
"Master, I'm only doing what I've been told."
"Drugging a new friend?"
The room is silent other than Obi-Wan choking on his sip of tea, clearing his throat quickly and placing the cup down.
"Master, you know very well my tea is not drugged. You just happen to fall victim to the high melatonin levels of the leaves," Obi-Wan calmly explains, again, about the tea to his Master. Cody shifts next to him but says nothing.
"Drugs or leaves, I thought you were supposed to be showing Padawan Cody around, not making him sleep," Anakin crosses his arms, looking down at Obi-Wan.
"I've already done everything I needed to, Master, and Master Ti is far from returning to the Temple. I made Cody the tea so he could relax and be more comfortable. If you had cared to stay long enough to meet him properly, you would have noticed how.. messy his mind was," he huffs as he finishes speaking, crossing one leg.
Anakin begins to speak back, but soon gives up, instead shaking Cody's hand and giving a proper greeting. He retires to his bedroom, leaving the two Padawans to talk.
"So.. Is it actually drugged?" Cody yawns, placing the empty cup down and re-situating himself, now sitting closer to the other boy, intentionally; Kenobi knew not.
"No, it's just a plant that produces a lot of melatonin, you know what that is, right?"
"Yes," is all Cody says before his head falls onto Obi-Wan's shoulder, his signature still there, but duller, signifying sleep. He softly smiles and lays the younger down on the couch, his head resting on Obi-Wan's thighs.
Obi-Wan reads a holopad for some time. His exhaustion eventually catches up, and he feels his eyes droop more and more. He tries to fight it, but his holopad is suddenly on the table next to the couch, and his body is at rest, his mind cranking out yet another peculiar dream for him to meditate on.

CodyWan day 6 has arrived!!
It’s so short. I’m just so tired 😬 but I must bring the writing(I’m working on like 3 actual fics right now, excluding oneshots and such.)
@codywanweek
Prompts: Modern AU/Tea and caf
Obi-Wan sipped his tea, looking down at the clipboard he's holding. He drops it onto the table with a clatter, turning to look at the museum displays behind him. He sighs, watching through the one-sided window in his office as employees bringing the recent triceratops skeleton they had found inside. It was another of the many complete or almost-complete skeletons, though of course not every single bone and piece could be found.
"Working hard or hardly working?" Obi-Wan looks up as Cody opens the door, grinning at his own remark.
"A bit of both, perhaps." He places his tea down, standing up fully rather than leaning on his desk. He gives Cody a smile.
Cody was an archeologist and explorer, he was dressed in the usual uniform. Scouting uniform, tan, beige, red bandana around his neck, black boots, the usual. He pulled his hat off and set it on the desk, sighing gently.
"You are so dusty." Obi-Wan's hands find themselves on Cody's shoulders, wiping off dirty and dust. He dusts off some of his chest too. Cody simply watches, face blank but tired, as he dusts off some of his outfit.
Cody’s hand gently grabs Obi-Wan’s wrist, his other holding the back of the same hand. Lifting his hand, he kisses the palm of it a few times. Obi-Wan lets his hand rest against Cody’s face, stepping closer. The scout’s eyes close, holding his hand there.
“I’m so tired.. Do you have any coffee?” Cody asks, looking at Obi-Wan with half-lidded eyes.
“I’m sure I do somewhere.” Obi-Wan searches his room with his eyes. With hesitation, he takes his hand away from Cody to go search his cabinets. He sighs, placing his hands on his hips. “Maybe you could just have some tea?”
Obi-Wan turns to see Cody sitting in his chair now, legs spread, head resting on a closed fist, arm propped up by his elbow. His other hand lays loosely on his thigh.
“Maybe,” Cody simply shrugs, closing his eyes again.
It’s silent as Obi-Wan makes the tea for Cody. He almost wonders if the other has fallen to the grasps of sleep, but he turns to see Cody simply observing him. The scout takes the cup and drinks it, smiling at the warm sweetness of the familiar brew.
“How about you tell me all about finding that skeleton now?”

There's gonna be a delay on day 6. I have a half-day of school and then a dumb back to school mixer to attend in the evening. Dunno when it will be up and it'll probably be short.

CodyWan Week day 5!!
I experienced some writers block, and decided it would be better for me to do this from a different perspective, so I just kinda came up with someone to do that with.
@codywanweek
CodyWan Week day 5! Prompts: Sith AU/Established Relationship/Battle Couple
Work Text:
"CLEAR OUT!" RK-2387, Reck, heard their Commander call out. "OUT OF THE WAY, MOVE, MOVE!" Reck stumbled to his feet, wincing at the wound in his thigh. He followed his fellow troopers as they run, clearing the area for the Emperor's righthand-man and his husband's shuttle to land. Thank the maker, they were getting awfully close to losing this battle.
Reck watches as Lord Eirie and his husband exit the shuttle, weapons in hand, black uniforms matching. Eirie, formerly known as the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, ignites his blade, and it glows the blood-red Reck had seen many times before. Stormtroopers had replaced Clone troopers the moment the Empire took over and the Clones started dying. Few remained, mostly just old ones living on the streets. However, Lord Eirie's husband was a clone. One that had been modified differently, his ageing had stopped some time ago, and he and Eirie grew at the same rate now, at the same age.
They really were made for each other, it seemed. The way Eirie took the offence, Cody taking defence and protecting his Lord from behind or from things he may have not seen, which was rare to happen. They moved in perfect sync, so incredibly well, it was almost- No, it was terrifying. Before Reck knew it, they already took out the entire lot of rebels, assessing the situation and scene.
Reck watched while removing the armour on his left thigh, wrapping a stray piece of cloth around a wound. The couple talked to each other quietly, seeming to have a laugh about something. Reck froze as Eirie's yellow, burning eyes landed on him. He stayed frozen as he was exposed, helmet off to tend his wound.
His body shook with fear as the Sith approached him, taking a good look at him.
"Did someone give you the word to remove your helmet?" Eirie finally asks, and Reck swallowed hard.
"No, sir," He makes no move.
"Well, tend to your wound quickly. We wouldn't want someone less apologetic to see you with no helmet on," The Sith finishes, almost.. a fatherly tone in his voice?
"Yes, sir!" Reck responds, tightening the cloth around his thigh before putting his helmet on, beginning to stand. He stops as a gloved hand reaches in front of him. He looks up and softly takes it as General Cody helps him up.
"Would you like help walking, Reck?" Cody asks, amber eyes looking forward where Eirie stands.
"If you don't mind, sir," Reck says carefully. He liked serving under them, despite being as evil as everyone knew the Empire was, Cody and Obi-Wan were once in the same war longer than most Stormtroopers had been. They were the only two other than the Emperor himself who respected troopers choosing names for themselves. Hell, Cody was a chosen name too.
"Alright, Reck, I'll get you to a medbay quickly," Cody says, their arms going over the other's shoulders, the General helping Reck walk to their private shuttle.
"Thank you, sir," Reck breathes out, thankful for the help. While it was very easy to replace troopers, in this case, Reck had been loyal and serving for 19 years now, as long as the Empire had been around. And they weren't just gonna replace him like that.
"You're welcome," Cody says, helping Reck sit in one of the shuttle chairs.
Sith or not, Reck had to admit.. If anyone in the Empire was nice, it was them. Evil, but caring. Deadly, but kind.
Of course those acts were unforgivable, but neither took pride in it. To them it was simply.. ruling.
Reck appreciated it, respected them a little more.
I mean, more than he already had. They were the galaxy's most powerful battle couple ever. You had to give them some respect.

CodyWan Week Day 4!
Honestly, I keep questioning what day I'm supposed to be posting because I'm putting it up on my ao3 at like midnight and either waiting til morning to post it here or I'm doing it minutes after posting it..
Prompts! @codywanweek
Force sensitive Cody/"This Isn't What I Signed Up For"/Secret Relationship, except I made a twist of my own. It's Pada-Wan x Padawan Cody. Because, frankly, I am obsessed with Pada-Wan aus, and it may be a problem, but that is not a problem right now as it's 0050(12:50am) and I'm running on a coffee flavoured protein shake I had at 1700(5:00pm)
Onto the reading!
When Cody was made, it was no normal.. making. Cloning. He was a clone. He had a number. He was a number. Just- Just a number.
That was until Shaak Ti revealed he had been specifically chosen, his DNA specially (and expensively) modified. He would grow at a normal rate after he hit 10 years old, physically around 20.
But if one person believed in him more than Shaak Ti, it was Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan was a senior Padawan at the crisp age of 19 when Cody entered the Temple for the first time. He was only physically a year younger than him, but still was learning and growing. Obi-Wan couldn't help but take a liking to him- He taught him what Shaak Ti wouldn't, allowing him to excel in the Force quickly. After all, this was war.
Their first meeting was.. nice, you could say.
Shaak Ti's new Padawan?" Obi-Wan smiles, pushing his long hair back. The Council insisted it wasn't tradition, Anakin insisted it looked better.
"Correct," Cody repeats. "And, you?.."
"Obi-Wan Kenobi, pleasure to meet you," The Jedi shake hands, normally a bow was customary, but Cody.. was no normal Jedi, he had much to learn, and Obi-Wan thought it easier to ease him into it. He was quite nice looking, vibrant, dark skin with short, pitch-black curls. He found himself staring for a moment too much, quickly adjusting his posture and attitude, clearing his throat.
I'd love to get to know you, I hear we'll be working together very soon," Obi-Wan smiles as they beginning walking through the Temple, repeating what Anakin had told him to tell Cody.
"Uh.. Okay," Cody speaks carefully. Obi-Wan just smiles at him reassuringly.
It had been a year since then- Cody had grown, physically and in the Force. He finally reached the age where he'd grow at a normal rate, now he and Obi-Wan were physically the same age. And he liked that. Shaak Ti had trained him long before coming to the Temple, but she still thought the experience would help him adjust better.
And adjust better he did, mostly thanks to Obi-Wan and his very outgoing Master. Obi-Wan was always not far behind Master Skywalker, who was always running into a battle or a trap. He insisted he only followed because, well, Master Skywalker is his Master, and he's gotta be there most times, he is the Teacher- And in this war, there was less teaching from Anakin and more "Do as I do, you'll learn."
That of course led to Obi-Wan and Cody studying aboard their ship in their free time.
"Now that is just plain wrong," Obi-Wan sneers as he looks at the holopad, which was the debrief Anakin had given at the battle of Geonosis. "He either lied straight to the Council or they all decided they wouldn't include the fact that my Master was the one to get into the situation first. Unbelievable."
Cody chuckles quietly at Obi-Wan's frustration. They're sitting on the ginger's bed, leaning against the wall sitting close together, but ready to move if someone were to walk in on their canoodling.
And canoodle was what Cody wanted.
"Take a break from the debriefs," Cody finally replies back, moving the 'pad from Obi-Wan's hands and tossing it to the end of the bed. "I'm right here anyway."
"Oh, because you're not a bore on the eyes," Obi-Wan deadpans, lifting Cody's chin slightly. He only rolls his eyes and kisses the teasing Padawan, turning his body to not strain as much.
He practically melted as Obi-Wan pulled him onto his lap, holding him gently. His hands were rough but gentle to the touch as they kissed.
They rarely got these chances. Forever busy, as they would (forever) say. So the couple savoured the moments, drew them out as long as they could last, never moving too fast or too slow for the other.
Of course, moments were just moments.
A knock rang at the door and Cody removed himself from Obi, quick to lay on the bed at an appropriate distance, on his stomach as he looked at the holopad again.
"Come in!" Obi-Wan answers. An Admiral opens the door and begins speaking to Obi-Wan, explaining a request of Anakin's. Neither of them knew this relationship would.. evolve so much. And Cody definitely didn't like the fact that it was forbidden.
But, Cody just smiled to himself as he - pretended to - read the holopad, knowing fully well Obi-Wan would be craving for him all day once he leaves to speak with Anakin.

CODYWAN WEEK DAY 3!!!
@codywanweek
Prompt: Arranged Marriage/Only one bed/NSFW: Dirty Talk
Read it in full on my ao3!
"Listen, I don't want this as much as you do," Obi-Wan grumbles as he pushes his hair out of his face, adjusting his formalwear. He was a prince on a far off planet, didn't matter from where according to Senator Cody. Of all the things- A Senator? A stuck up, bratty one too.
"Listen, we won't talk to each other, we won't interact, we won't even share a bed-" The Senator stops in his tracks as they arrive in the house they'd been given after their marriage. Just to sign a stupid treaty and bring their families together, how idiotic. And now look at this- One bed?! No.
"Stars, no, I am not doing this," Obi-Wan mutters under his breath, reaching to grab his things.
He stops mid-move as he watches the Senator only shrug and remove his boots and outer layers, laying on the comfortable, big bed in nothing but a white undershirt and darker pants. Obi-Wan can't help but feel his face grow warm, studying the Senator's stupid body and his stupid face..
"Move over," Obi-Wan practically demands as he strips his boots and outer layers as well, walking over to stand at the bed. He has his hands on his hips, staring down at the other Senator expectantly. His underclothes are much lighter than Cody's, revealing his well-defined body because of the only current light source being the sun setting through the blinds. His white shirt hung loose, black pants comfortable and not too warm. Cody doesn't respond for a moment, eyes trailing over his body for one moment too long.
"Fine," Obi-Wan then climbs over Cody, laying right on top of him. The other Senator struggles for words, but seems to give up as he sighs. "Have you finally shut up?"
Cody's eyes shoot back to Obi-Wan at the comment, almost fuming, but he just lays his head back down and huffs.
They stay like that for some time, both liking the contact and the other as a person but refusing to accept it.
Cody inhales sharply as he feels a rough, callused hand gently slide under his shirt, lifting it up some. He looks down to see Obi-Wan just before he begins kissing Cody's lower stomach, with no intention of stopping it seemed.
Cody almost whimpers when Obi-Wan begins working his lower clothes off, hating the fact of how tight they suddenly felt over him, hating how Obi-Wan took his time.
"Would you hurry up?" Cody says through his teeth, legs moving a little before the prince moves to hold his thighs in place.
"You're better when you're not talking, Cody," He remarks back, but still complies as he removes his pants and undergarments at a quicker pace, simply tossing them to the end of the bed.
"Maybe you should be the one who shuts up."
"Make me."

Codywan week day 2!!
Prompt; Tatooine husbands
@codywanweek
This is also posted on my ao3
Obi-Wan yawned as the Tatooine suns beat down on him, his eyes squinting. He looked across the horizon, still no sign of his husband, who lately had been adopting the habit of being late. Obi-Wan much preferred he finally opened up to adopting a child rather than more bad habits.. They were simple moisture farmers, living not too far away from the Skywalker farm, run by Anakin, his wife Padmé, his children, and then his in-laws. Obi-Wan had been a Jedi. He still technically was. He was assigned to Tatooine as a Jedi Watchman, though nothing ever happened. He had taught Anakin some things, the boy had thankfully never been found by the Jedi as a child. Anakin's children were also force-sensitives. Obi-Wan was considering taking Luke as his Padawan.
Of course, the Council wasn't informed of this. Of any of it- Training Anakin when Obi-Wan was first assigned here, when Padmé was just 5 months pregnant. He and Cody had been married long before that. They still kept it a secret... But to everyone else on Tatooine, Ben Kenobi and Cody Kenobi were just the married farmers out by the Skywalkers. That would be hard to explain to the Council..
Obi-Wan felt a familiar shiver on his spine, and a warning sensation in his thoughts. Recognition clicks in him, the warning going away, replaced by comfort and calm.
"Took you long enough, Cody, what was it this time?" Obi-Wan smiles as he hears Cody's dramatic sigh, before he walks to the Jedi's side and crosses his arms.
"I took an altered route to try sneaking up behind you," Cody mutters out.
"And, in the 17 years we've been married, what have you learned?"
"That you can't sneak up on a Jedi."
Obi-Wan chuckles lowly, sensing Cody's impatience.
"Alright, dear, come here," Cody lights up as Obi-Wan turns. The Jedi puts his hand at the small of Cody's back, pulling him close to kiss him. Cody returns the kiss with pleasure, smiling through it all the way up to when they pull away.
"I missed you," Cody admits, exhaling softly as he leans onto Obi.
"Tell me about it." Obi-Wan grins. "You could just let me go out to buy things every so often, Cody, you don't have to go in town by yourself every time. We have a security system, we can both go."
Cody makes a face, clicking his tongue. "I don't know. I don't like the thought of you needing to do that, you already do so much work here just maintaining everything. Not to mention Luke and Leia, you want them to be trained properly, right?"
"Cody, please, I'm a Jedi, not a maid."
Cody slowly looks back to Obi-Wan, a sly twinkle in his eyes.
"Don't," Obi-Wan warns, pointing one finger to Cody.
Cody only chuckles, grabbing the Jedi's wrist, lifting his hand to his face, softly leaning into the touch of his hand. Obi-Wan just huffs but with a smile nonetheless, caressing his husband's face with his thumb. He takes the Commander inside and they both grab a cup of water before Cody brings in the food he bought.
This was normally their routine. Obi-Wan loved that. He really didn't miss the war, or the Council. He loved this.
He loved Cody.

CODYWAN WEEK DAY 1!!
Aha. I just woke up!
@codywanweek
Day 1, writing prompt: Rebel AU/Cody with a lightsaber. It also can be found here on my ao3!
"Cody!" Obi-Wan calls out as he slips in the fight, hilt flying out of his hand.
Cody quickly grabs the saber and activates it, slashing the attacker quickly, then spins around and grabs Obi-Wan by his robes, holding him carefully over the edge. He brings Obi-Wan back up, slowly.
"You really need to stop dropping this," Cody scolds, clipping the hilt onto his own belt.
"I'm aware, but, I do need that back-"
"I'm aware," Cody echoes, teasingly. "You'll get it back when we're done."
Obi-Wan stifles a laugh, following Cody through the dark canyons. They walk quietly, the dirt and pebbles crunching under their boots.
It had been 3 years. 3 years since Obi-Wan left the Jedi Order. He hadn't known how persistent Cody would be. It was quite impressive, actually, how well the trooper had hid from Obi-Wan and put up mental barriers. The only reason Obi-Wan found out Cody had followed him was because Cody let his guard down, and the rogue Jedi sensed him. Why did Obi-Wan leave?
That was indeed a question.
<em>"Why did you leave?" Cody prompts, voice quiet in the dark cave, lit dimly by their lantern.
"Why did you follow me?" Obi-Wan retorts back, seeming amused.
"Obi-Wan.."
The older sighs and gives in.
"The order... It wasn't for me. It had just taken too much. My family, so many of my friends, any chance of.. Well, a romantic relationship. And the last straw was..."
Obi-Wan shudders at the memory. Of Ahsoka, facing charges for something she never would have done.
Anakin and Obi-Wan both left the order that day. The trio kept contact, but travelled the galaxy separately.
Obi-Wan was glad he had Cody.</em>
Obi-Wan takes deep breaths as they walk, calming his body after the sudden attack. The breeze is gentle, a bit chilly, as you would expect in the dead of night. Three moons shine brightly in the sky, passing ships visible where they are. Creatures call out, making a natural melodic sound of the forest. The ground was dirt and pebbles, brown, meanwhile the trees had a dull, dark brown wood and round, glowing cyan spores in place of leaves. It was quite beautiful.
It would be, if the two weren't constantly being attacked by robbers, rogue pirates and predatory animals out here.
Obi-Wan caught Cody's blaster and began firing, the forest lighting up at the green blasts, clashing with the blue saber in such a lively way. The sounds of chaos ensued as they ran, Cody hitting anything away from the front while Obi-Wan aims back to shoot there. They were hostile animals of this planet, a 'kill-on-sight' sort of thing. A whole pack of them.
Cody and Obi-Wan share a glance before going back to back, keeping away the predators with ease now. They moved fluidly and they moved together, fighting the animals off. Obi-Wan turns and shoots one far away that was approaching quickly, while Cody blocks off attacks on Obi-Wan's side. They spin back around and continue.
"Cody, dear, we may not be able to win this one!" Obi-Wan shouts to his partner, it seemed like the animals didn't stop coming.
"I gotta agree with you there!" Cody shouts back.
The two share a nod then begin running, fast through the forest, making sure the other doesn't get left behind. Their weapons now tucked away, they moved easily between the trees and vines, dodging and weaving- The animals don't have that balance and fluidity. They eventually reach a cliff, seeing dirt and a river at the bottom.
Obi-Wan looks at Cody.
"Don't hate me," He says.
"I don't think I'm able to do that."
Cody smiles.
Obi-Wan launches Cody up and to the side, dangling over the ravine, before he jumps down and releases the force-hold on Cody.
They fall and fall, Obi-Wan landing safely thanks to a common force-trick, but as he rolled to land, his hands scratch on the sharp pebbles. He hisses quietly through his teeth, but quickly lifts his hands to begin catching Cody. His speed slowly declines until Obi-Wan places him on the ground. He looks unamused.
"I may take back my statement," Cody deadpans, swinging the saber once before deactivating it and clipping it to his belt again.
"Oh, you would never," Obi-Wan grins.
"Sure," Is all Cody says.
They start walking once more, the river flowing fast next to them. Obi-Wan looks at his callused, dusty and scratched hands, then tugs his sleeves up a little. He turns direction, striding to the side of the river now. He lets out a soft exhale as the cold, almost freezing, water washes away the dirt and blood on his hands. He hears Cody's soft footsteps, then his saber igniting. He sees the blue glow and brings his hands out of the water, standing as he shakes them off.
He turns to see Cody in an opening stance of Ataru. It was a bit sloppy, but good for someone not trained well. He takes in the form before approaching Cody, standing at a close diagonal to him, gently adjusting the form.
"This is.. Form IV?" Cody questions, turning his head to look at the former Jedi.
Obi-Wan smiles and nods, hands gentle as he makes minor adjustments, then gently moves Cody's head by his chin to face forward.
He'd never forget the sight- Cody using his lightsaber, learning everything he could before the sun rose and they could peacefully continue their journey. The way the sun rose, it lit up Cody's body, making his dark skin so vibrant, his eyes sparkle, his mix of old armour and tan robes looking slightly younger than they actually were.
He just couldn't believe Cody was truly his.

snippet of codywan week day 1
Prompts from @codywanweek of course
Prompt: Rebel au, Cody with a lightsaber
(First time doing anything like this! Really just doing it for fun to get the jist of it. I don't know exactly what I'm doing so..)
"Obi-Wan takes deep breaths as they walk, calming his body after the sudden attack. The breeze is gentle, a bit chilly, as you would expect in the dead of night. Three moons shine brightly in the sky, passing ships barely visible against the stars. Creatures call out, making a natural melodic sound of the forest. The ground was dirt and pebbles, brown, meanwhile the trees had a dull, dark grey-brown wood and round, glowing cyan spores in place of leaves.
They were hostile animals of this planet, a 'kill-on-sight' sort of thing. you will look into the faces of passers by, hoping for something that will, for an instant, bring me back to you. you will find moonlit nights strangely empty because when you call my name through them, there will be no answer. always your heart will be aching for me, and your mind will give you the doubtful consolation that you did a brave thing.
Mm, yes, angst..
