The Costa Concordia was a cruise ship that ran aground and capsized off the coast of Giglio, Italy, on January 13, 2012. The ship was carrying more than 4,000 passengers and crew when it struck a rock and began to sink. The accident resulted in the deaths of 32 people and led to a major salvage operation to refloat and remove the ship from the water. The captain of the Costa Concordia, Francesco Schettino, was later found guilty of multiple charges, including manslaughter, and sentenced to prison.

Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of John F. Kennedy, was shot and killed by Dallas nightclub owner and mob associate Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963, two days after the murder of the president.

As Oswald was being transferred through the basement of Dallas Police headquarters, a reporter asked the suspect if he had anything to say in his defense, to which Oswald responded, "I'm just a patsy."

A moment later, as TV cameras rolled, Oswald made the “perp walk” through a jostling crowd of reporters, escorted by Dallas Police Detective Jim Leavelle, when Ruby emerged from the gaggle and fired a single shot into Oswald’s abdomen — his voice growling, “Oswald!” as he pulled the trigger.

Oswald died less than an hour later at a nearby hospital, Ruby’s bullet forever silencing the man who might have otherwise revealed a conspiracy behind Kennedy’s death. Whatever Oswald knew, he took it with him to the grave.
