one thing i love about JJK and CSM is that it fools you into thinking it's going to be a formulaic series where the team eliminates a different threat every episode and retrieves their collectibles (Sukuna's fingers and pieces of the Gun Devil) only to reach halfway and completely disregard said collectibles because the real main threat has appeared.

remember there was that We Bare Bears episode where the bears were still kids and found themselves stranded on an island and they also discovered a man and a woman stranded for longer than they were. things happened: survival, bonding together, dreaming of being rescued. the bears soon discovered a hidden trove of provisions and a way out of the island (a raft i think) and excitedly rushed to the girl to tell her about the good news but they were intercepted by the guy who revealed he was intentionally keeping the provisions hidden until the girl became his girlfriend. basically, he was taking advantage of their time alone on the island until the girl eventually develops feelings and he can be the hero by "discovering" a way out for them. struggles ensued but in the end, the girl and the bears were able to make it onto the raft and leave the guy behind.

even back then, despite the cutesy style of the show, that scenario was a nightmare for me. the reveal where the guy knew all along and the fact they were all alone with no help on the horizon. she was essentially a hostage and he was banking on stockholm syndrome to kick in.

anyway, that might have been my first instance of the man vs bear argument.

i can't explain it any better but the Ice Age movies and Pirates of the Caribbean movies are similar in terms of movie quality with every release.

most people acknowledge it as a trilogy (this is where the story peaked and ended and everyone is fine with it)

the fourth movie has its moments but it's not good enough to be acknowledged that much (it's an okay movie)

i thought there was something familiar about Megumi's eyes then i realized he has Toji's stare now. his eyes really show how much he's changed.

this really scared me because when i initially read "last mission" i thought the three of them were going to quit being a sorcerer afterwards. Megumi only became a sorcerer for his sister and now that she is gone, he no longer has any reason to continue. Yuji is finally rid of Sukuna's possession. He can return to being a normal high schooler again. and Nobara had that bit about her mom so i thought she is gonna leave Jujutsu High to go look for her. but who knows maybe this just means the last mission "we" will see.

like she must have been so confused about him since that trial and then he just disappears and returns as a sorcerer. and i like to think the first thing Higuruma asked Shimizu when they meet again is "how is the cat?"

my friend and i were making guesses as to who this might be. i think it's Kenjaku or a reformed Kenjaku, considering Takaba's abilities. he may have had a permanent change in personality. OR what if Takaba is now cursed to be bound with Kenjaku as a pair of entertainers, keeping him in check and making sure he's just telling jokes and not dooming everybody.
