A place for me to spam pics of my dolls and save pics of other people's dolls. I prefer to support artists but I'm recast friendly because it's not my business how other's spend their money. I collect BJD, Blythe, Failfix, LOL, OMG, and ponies. I'm also a huge fan of Licca, Pullip, and figures.

it’s always incredible to me what a faceup can do for a sculpt

Here’s a “life-hack” for you. Apparently concentrated Kool-Aid can be used as a pretty effective leather dye. I was making a drink while cutting the snaps off some new straps for my pauldrons and I got curious, so I tried it, thinking, “ok even if this works, it will just wash out.” Nope. It took the “dye” (undiluted) in about 3 seconds. After drying for about an hour and a half, it would not wash off in the hottest tap-water. It would not wash out after soaking for 30 minutes. It did not wash out until I BOILED it, and even then, only by a tiny bit and it gave it a weathered look that was kind of cool. Add some waterproofing and I’d wager it would survive even that. That rich red is only one application too. Plus it smells great, lol. So there you go, cheap, fruity smelling leather dye in all the colors Kool-Aid has to offer.

Sorry you all for us to be so late, it's just that we get a lot of asks about things I've already explained a thousand times and actual confessions get stuck in between!
Here we received a screenshot by private message, this are now available as recast from Oueneifs.

Screenshot confession sent:
*(please excuse the hate, we wouldn't normally post such thing, but it's just so hypocratic to say they hate so much some artist having his work recast but others are a laughing matter, that this reveals the sad truth about every claim every hater ever has done against recasts)
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍💝 ☺️

Update on the same Anon just sent this so I'll add it here:
So ProArtist (better know as AntiRecast) only protect the intellectual property for the people they get along with!
I'm like clapping such an amazing biases towards artists, that I think calling yourself ProArtist (because the AntiRecast doesn't sound "cute enough") it's still not the best idea given the evidence at hand.

This is kinda random, but has another ever thought of interview a recaster to understand their perspective. All the anti recasts need to speak out, but what about the recasters themselves?
Provably this article will give you an idea on how asian people thinks about reproductions. Take your time and read it :)
Extract from ‘Shanzai: Deconstruction in Chinese’ 2017 by Byung-Chul Chan
Quote: “The Chinese have two different concepts of a copy. Fangzhipin (仿製品) are imitations where the difference from the original is obvious. These are small models or copies that can be purchased in a museum shop, for example. The second concept for a copy is fuzhipin (複製品). They are exact reproductions of the original, which, for the Chinese, are of equal value to the original. It has absolutely no negative connotations. The discrepancy with regard to the understanding of what a copy is has often led to misunderstandings and arguments between China and Western museums. The Chinese often send copies abroad instead of originals, in the firm belief that they are not essentially different from the originals. The rejection that then comes from the Western museums is perceived by the Chinese as an insult.“ is the most clear example I’ve seeing about how western cultures distort things when they don’t understand them. In many cases, older dolls are either modified, lost or yellowing and decaying for natural reasons, if the artist is not producing them anymore, then yes “In a culture where continual reproduction represents a technique for conservation and preservation, replicas are anything but mere copies“. As we always say, is not the origin what makes your doll unique but if it’s real to you and if you love it regardless, that is what makes it legit.

All of my Blythe style dolls. I say "Blythe style" because none of these are legitimate Takara or Kenner Blythe dolls.
From top to bottom:
Jennifer (with her orange hair, and her green eyes, and her dress of "deepest" "purple") She's based on the song "Jennifer" by the Eurythmics. One of these days I'll get her a dress that's actually purple...
Ματι or Mati in Roman letters. Ματι means eye and she was originally going to be themed after nazar amulets but when she arrived her hair was the wrong color and her skin was lighter than I expected. The name stuck though.
Lilac, my first Blythe style doll. She is also the most customized of my Blythes; I have repainted her face, added blushing to her body, and altered her eye chips and mechanism.
