At her side, the unmarred snowdrops trembled in the faint evening breeze

As always, chlorofawn really grounds you in her setting - in this case, the closed freedom of the forests and the earth. Perhaps it helps that I'm rradong this on a misty morning, but I really feel placed into both the bite and comfort of a November chill when I read this.

You don't see much on Mary, not like this. She's a very fun character to take at face value and run with it, but it's nice to also see her get the depth she deserves. There's a great balance here, between her flightiness and big emotions, and the way she simply gets on with what's handed to her in a way thatis blasé and resolute.

I could say more, but then I'd have given away the entire thing. Go read it!

If the other dockworkers noticed that their young co-worker never hit puberty, they didn't say anything

If the man assessing him for the great war noticed the bandages around his chest, he didn't say anything

When William Havers noticed, he didn't say anything except for how much he loved his boyfriend

Once upon a time, The Captain was nameless

I had this one drafted for a little while and never got around to posting it! This is only one chapter strong so far, but I was intrigued by both the narration style and the setup. It's a fun little introduction to what could prove to be a compelling story.

I've been seeing people asking for recommendations I can't necessarily facilitate, or wondering about genres I haven't massively read. Here's my solution!

If there's something you think needs adding here, by all means submit. What gets posted will still be at my discretion (there might be fics I have queued that clash, etc), but I think this is a good move.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I have anything specifically for Kitty in my archives, but I definitely saw one on ao3 recently (it's about two chapters, if I get the chance I'll find the title). There's definitely more out there than what I've reviewed, though, I'd take a look through Kitty's tag.
