Witchcraft & Meds
For everyone with mental and physical stuff that they have to take medication for! I’m both mentally and chronically ill and take a LOT of meds each day. There’s so much negativity about magic and meds, so let’s find a way to incorporate both into your life! <3
Pill bottles:
Charge the bottles (while empty), the bowl you place your dose in, or your pill organizer in the sun or moon
Decorate them to look more witchy! Don’t cover up important labels. [X]
Draw sigils on the bottom to help minimize side effects and so you don’t forget a dose!
Use empty bottles for anything witchy (spell bottles, herb storage, etc.) [X]
Place crystals or herbs around/on the bottle
Use color correspondences - doodle on the lid or bottom
Meds:
Keep in cool pill boxes
Whisper an enchantment or blessing over them for desired effects (easy to swallow, less side effects, doing their job, etc.)
Think or say an affirmation with each one (I say so many affirmations a day!)
Take with (drinking safe) moon water or infused water.
Use your pills to make a sigil
Also use a cool cup, could be decorated, covered in sigils, using color correspondences, and more!
Coat your pills with honey before taking them to sweeten up your life (especially helpful for the gross tasting/fast dissolving meds)
IV treatments and injections (no needle mentions):
Listen to witchy music
Draw healing/soothing sigils
Keep crystals in your pocket or bag
Bring infused water with you (if using herbs, check for interactions)
Bring a spell bottle/sachet to your treatment for good vibes, quick healing, minimal pain, and the like.
Sigils on the band-aid!

Hello! I have a few posts that may be helpful :)

This masterpost may have some other helpful things, I’d recommend looking through it if you have the chance, you never know what might give you an idea!

Limitations of tropical astrology
Tropical astrology is a system of astrology that uses the position of the Sun relative to the Earth's tropical (seasonal) cycle to determine the zodiac signs. This system is based on the idea that the Sun moves through the 12 zodiac signs over the course of a year, with each sign corresponding to a particular time of year. However, while tropical astrology is widely used and popular in the Western world, it has limitations, including the fact that it only works in the Northern Hemisphere.
The reason for this is that tropical astrology is based on the seasons of the Northern Hemisphere, where it originated. In the Northern Hemisphere, the vernal equinox (the first day of spring) occurs around March 21st each year, and this is used as the starting point for the zodiac wheel in tropical astrology. The zodiac signs are then measured based on the position of the Sun relative to this starting point, with each sign corresponding to a 30-degree segment of the sky.
However, in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed, with the vernal equinox occurring around September 21st. This means that the zodiac signs in tropical astrology do not correspond to the constellations that are visible in the Southern Hemisphere during the same time of year. For example, during the month of March in the Northern Hemisphere, the zodiac sign of Aries is associated with the constellation of the Ram, which is visible in the night sky. However, in the Southern Hemisphere during the same time of year, the constellation of Aries is not visible, as it is on the other side of the Earth.
As a result, many astrologers in the Southern Hemisphere prefer to use a system of astrology known as sidereal astrology, which is based on the actual positions of the stars in the sky. This system takes into account the precession of the equinoxes, which causes the positions of the stars to slowly shift over time. However, sidereal astrology is less widely used and understood in the Western world, where tropical astrology remains the dominant system.
In conclusion, while tropical astrology is a popular and widely used system of astrology, it has limitations and only works in the Northern Hemisphere. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, other systems of astrology such as sidereal astrology may be more accurate and effective.

beginner’s guide to the indie web
“i miss the old internet” “we’ll never have websites like the ones from the 90s and early 2000s ever again” “i’m tired of social media but there’s nowhere to go”
HOLD ON!
personal websites and indie web development still very much exist! it may be out of the way to access and may not be the default internet experience anymore, but if you want to look and read through someone’s personally crafted site, or even make your own, you can still do it! here’s how:
use NEOCITIES! neocities has a built in search and browse tools to let you discover websites, and most importantly, lets you build your own website from scratch for free! (there are other ways to host websites for free, but neocities is a really good hub for beginners!)
need help getting started with coding your website? sadgrl online has a section on her website dedicated to providing resources for newbie webmasters!
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are the core of what all websites are built on. many websites also use JS (JavaScript) to add interactive elements to their pages. w3schools is a useful directory of quick reference for pretty much every HTML/CSS/JS topic you can think of.
there is also this well written and lengthy guide on dragonfly cave that will put you step by step through the basics of HTML/CSS (what webpages are made from), if that’s your sort of thing!
stack overflow is every programmer’s hub for asking questions and getting help, so if you’re struggling with getting something to look how you want or can’t fix a bug, you may be able to get your answer here! you can even ask if no one’s asked the same question before.
websites like codepen and jsfiddle let you test HTML/CSS/JS in your browser as you tinker with small edits and bugfixing.
want to find indie websites outside the scope of neocities? use the search engine marginalia to find results you actually want that google won’t show you!
you can also use directory sites like yesterweb’s link section to find websites in all sorts of places.
if you are going to browse the indie web or make your own website, i also have some more personal tips as a webmaster myself (i am not an expert and i am just a small hobbyist, so take me with a grain of salt!)
if you are making your own site:
get expressive! truly make whatever you want! customize your corner of the internet to your heart’s content! you have left the constrains of social media where every page looks the same. you have no character limit, image limit, or design limit. want to make an entire page or even a whole website dedicated to your one niche interest that no one seems to be into but you? go for it! want to keep a public journal where you can express your thoughts without worry? do it! want to keep an art gallery that looks exactly how you want? heck yeah! you are free now! you will enjoy the indie web so much more if you actually use it for the things you can’t do on websites like twitter, instead of just using it as a carrd bio alternative or a place to dump nostalgic geocities gifs.
don’t overwhelm yourself! if you’ve never worked with HTML/CSS or JS before, it may look really intimidating. start slow, use some guides, and don’t bite off more than you can chew. even if your site doesn’t look how you want quite yet, be proud of your work! you’re learning a skill that most people don’t have or care to have, and that’s pretty cool.
keep a personal copy of your website downloaded to your computer and don’t just edit it on neocities (or your host of choice) and call it a day. if for some reason your host were to ever go down, you would lose all your hard work! and besides, by editing locally and offline, you can use editors like vscode (very robust) or notepad++ (on the simpler side), which have more features and is more intuitive than editing a site in-browser.
you can use ctrl+shift+i on most browsers to inspect the HTML/CSS and other components of the website you’re currently viewing. it’ll even notify you of errors! this is useful for bugfixing your own site if you have a problem, as well as looking at the code of sites you like and learning from it. don’t use this to steal other people’s code! it would be like art theft to just copy/paste an entire website layout. learn, don’t steal.
don’t hotlink images from other sites, unless the resource you’re taking from says it’s okay! it’s common courtesy to download images and host them on your own site instead of linking to someone else’s site to display them. by hotlinking, every time someone views your site, you’re taking up someone else’s bandwidth.
if you want to make your website easily editable in the future (or even for it to have multiple themes), you will find it useful to not use inline CSS (putting CSS in your HTML document, which holds your website’s content) and instead put it in a separate CSS file. this way, you can also use the same theme for multiple pages on your site by simply linking the CSS file to it. if this sounds overwhelming or foreign to you, don’t sweat it, but if you are interested in the difference between inline CSS and using separate stylesheets, w3schools has a useful, quick guide on the subject.
visit other people’s sites sometimes! you may gain new ideas or find links to more cool websites or resources just by browsing.
if you are browsing sites:
if the page you’re viewing has a guestbook or cbox and you enjoyed looking at the site, leave a comment! there is nothing better as a webmaster than for someone to take the time to even just say “love your site” in their guestbook.
that being said, if there’s something on a website you don’t like, simply move on to something else and don’t leave hate comments. this should be self explanatory, but it is really not the norm to start discourse in indie web spaces, and you will likely not even be responded to. it’s not worth it when you could be spending your time on stuff you love somewhere else.
take your time! indie web doesn’t prioritize fast content consumption the way social media does. you’ll get a lot more out of indie websites if you really read what’s in front of you, or take a little while to notice the details in someone’s art gallery instead of just moving on to the next thing. the person who put labor into presenting this information to you would also love to know that someone is truly looking and listening.
explore! by clicking links on a website, it’s easy to go down rabbitholes of more and more websites that you can get lost in for hours.
seeking out fansites or pages for the stuff you love is great and fulfilling, but reading someone’s site about a topic you’ve never even heard of before can be fun, too. i encourage you to branch out and really look for all the indie web has to offer.
i hope this post helps you get started with using and browsing the indie web! feel free to shoot me an ask if you have any questions or want any advice. <3

Hey 💛 what are the best things to focus on and manifest during this new moon? (I'm still fairly new to the practice💛)
The absolute best way to manifest during any moon is to work with your own natal chart.
Checking the house which the moon will transit throught will give you the general themes you should work with.
For example, if you are a Capricorn rising, this new moon in Cancer will most likely fall in your 7th house (but check the degrees to be sure) - so you should base your manifestations around partnerships and long-term commitments.
But generally, this Cancer New Moon is great for manifesting fulfillment of your emotional needs, stronger psychic abilities, feeling nurtured and cared for.
I wish you happy manifesting! Remember that the most important thing is to do what feels right to YOU. Only you know what’s best for you💓

Dark Moon Water
The first time I made dark moon water, I thought the sun would ruin it!, so I got it inside before the sun came up
After living more with the sun and moon, the stereotypes I have associated with them have changed.
When we look into the sky on the night of the dark moon, we cannot see the moon because it isn’t there!, not just because it’s illuminated face points away from us.
The dark moon rises at the same time as the sun! Remember that the new moon sets before sunset, because it’s out after sunrise.

I have come to see the moon as the mirror of the sun. If the moon gets its brilliance from the sun, how can the sun’s rays negate the moon’s power?
The dark moon is when most brightly the moon shines in the sun’s “face”.

I realize that I was too dualistic in my previous beliefs! I was attracted to the power of the dark because it is taboo in our society, and my path, I do not regret it.
I would even recommend anyone who believes in the “light” and “pure goodness” to take a walk on the dark side (and take a good look in the mirror)
Even if we take the idea of the dark side of the moon, this creates many dualistic misconceptions! It is true that the same face of the moon always points away from the earth, but from the sun’s point of view, the moon is always twinkling back at it (except during lunar eclipse when the earth gets in the way, and this only happens during full moon!
If the moon represents the subconscious, it only makes sense that it is connected to the sun, which is representative of the ego (the projected self)
(Also, shadow work is about “shining light” - consciousness - onto the subconscious)

Southern Hemisphere Witchcraft: The Moon
One of the things I don’t often see discussed is that the view of the moon from the Southern Hemisphere differs from that in the Northern Hemisphere.
Due to the angle we’re viewing from, our view of the moon is rotated by 180 degrees from that on the other side of the equator.

A major (and rarely-mentioned) impact of this, is that our view of the moon phases is ‘opposite’ the one we see most places: While in the Northern Hemisphere, the moon waxes from the right and wanes towards the left of our view, in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s first lit from the left of our view, and the light of the waning moon is to the right.
The “Triple Moon” symbol (of the waxing, full, and waning moon) we’re used to seeing represents a Northern Hemisphere view. While it’s traditionally drawn as )O( the view of the same pattern from the Southern Hemisphere would be ( O ) in shape.

Never Assign a Yes or No Value to Tarot Cards... Ever
Thinking that positive cards mean yes and negative cards mean no does not work.
You want to know if you will enjoy your new job. You pull The Devil. Many will tell you that is a no, because The Devil is a bad card.
But The Devil represents obsessive, addictive passion. Aren’t the happiest employees the ones who are extremely, deeply passionate about their job?
You want to know if your health will improve. You pull Death. Many will say that is a no, because Death is a scary card.
But Death represents absolute transformation. So if your health is in a terrible state, Death means it will transition into a great one.
You want to know if your husband is faithful. You pull the Three of Cups. Many will tell you that is a yes, because the Three of Cups is a card of happiness.
But there are three people in the Three of Cups. Having an extra person in a marriage is not exactly a sign of faithfulness, is it?
Thinking that upright cards mean yes and reversed cards mean no does not work either.
You asked, “Will I ever get over my mother’s death?” You pull the Five of Cups reversed. That is not a no. That is one enormous yes.
The Five of Cups upright is grief, loss and sadness. Reversed, it is moving on from such sorrows and choosing to once again find happiness.
Thinking that Cups mean yes, Swords mean no, Wands mean “yes but wait”, and Pentacles mean “yes but you have to work hard for it” is equally crap.
You asked, “Will I receive extra money this week?” You pull the Six of Pentacles. That is a big yes. And you will not need to work hard for it.
As seen in the card’s imagery, all you have to do is hold out your hand to the Universe, and it will send someone to fill it up for you.
So how to do it then?
To answer a yes or no question with tarot…
…pull a card, and read it.
Just read it. It really is that simple. Read what the card says to see if the answer is a no or a yes.
Because no card in tarot is designed to be condemned as a yes or a no. Any card can be a yes, just as any card can be a no. It depends on every individual question and the intricacies of the situation.
Shortcuts will not make you wise. More often than not, they are dead ends in disguise.

✨Yes/No Tarot tips✨

Here are some ideas to help you answer those pesky Yes/No questions using Tarot. These are just ways that I’ve found work for me and Yes/No card interpretations that have always given me the answers I seek. Sometimes, this varies from reader to reader, so use this as a springboard to find out what works for you!
If you pull a Yes card in reverse, it could indicate a “Yes, BUT…” or a “Yes, IF…”. You’ll need to understand what each card means in reverse to determine the caveat for a reversed Yes card.
Pay attention to the positive meanings for each No card. Sometimes, things aren’t as clear cut as a simple No. Sometimes, it becomes a “No, but…” and gives you clues about how you can change your No into a Yes.
If you pull a Maybe card, you can often get a feel for your options either way by drawing additional cards to go on either side. For example: Two of Swords is a Maybe card and often represents a difficult choice between two options. You can draw two cards to set on either side of this card that represent the two choices and their pros and cons.
YES
Major Arcana: Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Emperor, Empress, Lovers, Chariot, Strength, Hermit, Star, Sun, Judgement, World
Cups: Ace, two, three, six, nine, ten, page, knight, queen, king
Pentacles: Ace, three, six, eight, nine, ten, page, knight, queen, king
Swords: Ace, page, knight
Wands: Ace, two, three, four, six, eight, page, knight, queen, king
NO
Major Arcana: Death, Devil, Tower, Moon
Cups: Five, eight
Pentacles: Four, five
Swords: Three, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten
Wands: Five, seven, ten
MAYBE
Major Arcana: Hierophant, Justice, Hanged Man, Wheel of Fortune, Temperance
Cups: Four, seven
Pentacles: Two, seven
Swords: Two, four, queen, king
Wands: Nine
