The reasons he was created by Karen are: 1. Because her "biological" clock was ticking 2. As her own plan for getting the krabby patty secret formula. The plan is to create the ideal teenage boy for Pearl, who is in love with her (because he was programmed to have tall blonde girls as his type) and will always treat her best. The goal is for them to get married in the future and own the Krusty Krab together, which will also make Sheldon and Eugene put their differences aside and become friends again. In her CPU, this is the best and fair solution. Everybody wins.

Because it's fucking iconic.

He's a pathetically tiny megalomaniac loser and she's an electronic godess, made by the very man whom she married. A fragile, mortal creature and an artificial intellicence that will outlive humanity. It's unique, it's a little funny and ironic and it's bittersweet. They literally complete each other. She wouldn't exist without him and he would've lost his sanity without her.

Notes:

She was created by accident, when Sheldon was testing a cloning machine. He didn't expect it to work, so when he came face to face with a woman that could be his twin sister, he panicked and turned her into a baby to win himself some time.

Sheldon and Karen decided to hide the fact that she was a clone, so they made up a story about finding her on their droorstep, with a note from the mother, claiming it was Sheldon's child, but no other information.

Regina still doesn't know the truth about her "mother", because Sheldon couldn't find a way to explain to her the truth or even lying without hurting her, so he always dodges the question with "I'll tell you when you're older"

Coming from an abusive household, Sheldon always tries to provide Regina the life he never had. He may be a horrible role model, encouraging bad behaviours and all, but he tries his best to be a good dad.
