Hey hey hey writers!!! Especially y'alls who are struggling to develop character or have white room/still character syndrome!!!

Look into Uta Hagen's acting techniques, specifically her 9 questions. I'm not kidding. She built off Stanislavski's techniques to help actors develop their characters and roles & bring that to the stage- specifically, and this is why I'm pushing Hagen specifically and not anyone else, their relationship with the set, props, other characters, setting (yes that's different from set), history and the play's plot, and how that changes how they act and speak. I have my textbook open I'll take some pictures.

Uta Hagen's acting exercises

[Out-of-transcript note: Most of these, with the exception of Three Entrances, are less useful in terms of writers, but you could make it work, especially for roleplay.]

Basic Object Exercise: Sometimes called "two minutes of daily life," this exercise requires the actor to replicate activities from their own daily routine in specific detail (think making breakfast or getting ready to go out). The goal of this exercise is to increase the actor's awareness of their un-observed behaviour.

Three Entrances: Starting offstage, the actor enters the environment of the scene. The actor's performance should answer three questions: What did I just do? What am I going to do? What is the first thing I want?

Immediacy: Hagen asked actors to search for a small object that they need. You can perform the exercise on a set or in your home. As you search, you should observe the behaviour and thoughts that arise as you authentically try to find something. The objective is to identify the thoughts, behaviours, and sensations you experience when you genuinely don't know the outcome, so you can use them on stage.

Fourth Side: This exercise starts with a phone call to a person you know. You should call them with a specific objective in mind. During the convention, Hagen wants you to focus on your surroundings and the specific objects that your eyes rest on. The purpose is to help actors observe how they interact with all dimensions of an enclosed physical space so they can recreate privacy on stage.

Endowment: this exercise is designed to help actors apply their observed behaviours to endow props with qualities that they cannot safely have on stage. Hot irons and sharp knives are typical examples. The Endowment excercise asks actors to believably treat objects on stage as though they have the qualities the actor needs in a scene.

Uta Hagen's exercises are her greatest gift to actors working today. She developed them between Broadway jobs to solve some acting problems she had never seen anyone tackle to her satisfaction. The result is that Hagen's exercises give actors a way to observe human behaviours and catalogue it so they can recall it onstage when useful in a role.

Who am I? This question's answer includes all relevant details from name and age to physical traits, education, and beliefs.

What time is it? Depending on the scene, the most relevant measure of time can be the era, the season, the day, or even the specific minute.

Where am I? This answer covers the country, town, neighbourhood, room, or even the specific part of the room.

What surrounds me? Characters can be surrounded by anything from weather to furnishings, landscape or people.

What are the given circumstances? Given circumstances include what has happened, what is happening and what will happen to a character.

What are my relationships? Relationships can be with the other characters in the play, inanimate objects, or even recent events.

What do I want? Wants can be what the character desires in the moment, or in the overall course of the play. [Out-of-transcript note: I recommend figuring out both for writing, the former multiple times for whenever it changes! Outside of Hagen's technique, we call it objective and superobjective.]

What is in my way? This is the actor's chance to understand the obstacles the character must react to and overcome.

What do I do to get what I want? In Hagen's teaching, "do" means physical action.

Uta Hagen's nine questions help actors develop the granular details of their character's backstory. The questions come from Hagen's first book, "Respect for Acting," though in her later book, "A Challenge for the Actor," she condensed her original nine questions into six steps.

Uta Hagen's revised six steps to building a character are:

Who am I?

What are the circumstances?

What are my relationships?

What do I want?

What is my obstacle?

What do I do to get what I want?

Later in her life, Hagen distances herself from her first book and encouraged her students to rely on her second book, which she felt was clearer about her concepts. Both books are popular with acting teachers and students today, however. Hagen's questions and steps are the foundation for all of her acting exercises. Whether you rely on the nine questions or the six steps depends on personal preference.

Personally I like the 9 questions more, but like the book says, personal preference! So yeah, if you're a writer, try some of these out for your characters. :]

Things I've learned about: Belial

He appears as a man in a suit or a collared shirt with suspenders to me. He's often sipping on whiskey and smoking a cigar.

When not in his "human" form he's a massive dragon-humanoid. He towers to a good height of a building and sits upon an obsidian and molten lava throne that was cooled.

Despite being humongous he is very gentle and will do his best to not hurt you. That is if you deserve it.

Belial loves cats - especially black cats.

Belial loves sex he is a being associated with BDSM and more. Many practicioners who work with him brings this up about him, I didn't believe it until he let me experience it myself.

Belial hates submission - you submit he'll take advantage of it. This is to teach you a lesson. (I have an experience to back this up and I never submitted to him again)

Doesn't want people answering to him but he takes great pride in those who are his loyal followers

Very quiet, he'd rather observe. He responds in a few words or he'll just wave you off so he can continue chilling

He is a business man so if you make a request he'll go about it professionally with you

He can be humored - though I've never seen him smile. I only know by the energy he'll give off when he's amused by me or an action made or something said

He can be intimidating, he knows he is just don't submit

He's usually humorless though and he's very, very patient

Offerings of blood are favored as well as wine

There are stages to how he physically manifests to one and from what I've researched, compared, and experienced - it's off of trust

A very, very strong protector. He will eat, crush, or beat anyone who's harming you

Easygoing none the less just don't be an arrogant prick and the last thing..

Belial chooses you.

These are things I've learned about Belial from my 1/2 years of experience and working and devoting myself to him, if you're interested in working with him or communing with him and nervous as to how he is I hope this gives some confidence!

Had an interesting conversation with Lord Lucifer last night.

I won’t go too into the details but y’all already know I’ve been having some problems with my mom. Well I ended up cussing her out basically through text lol. I sent her a long letter about everything and made myself extremely clear. I thought it wouldn’t amount to anything, but to my surprise, it actually seems to have gotten through to her. She genuinely apologized for what feels like the first time, and even asked me if I’d consider going to counselling with her, which I agreed to at least try.

I asked Lucifer if he thought I was making the right decision, should I give her another chance? And I was expecting him to say something like “don’t allow yourself to be manipulated again,” but instead he sort of smiled and said he was proud of me.

“It takes a lot of strength to survive after exile, even more to forgive. You have mastered this period of self acceptance, resilience and survival, now I hope to see you master healing.”

and that was nice to hear, it gave me hope that this is something that truly can be overcome with time and effort.

But then, I got this pit in my stomach. Even if my mom and I could somehow find common ground, I am still a Luciferian, I will remain a Luciferian, and she will likely remain a radical christian. And as if he was reading my mind, Lucifer said, “when you have healed you will no longer need me.”

and that stung, because I never wanted to think that my relationship with him hinged on my distance to my mother. I didn’t respond.

“When we met, you had wounds that I sought to help you heal, now you are learning how. I never sought to isolate you, even after the fall, the goal is to rise again, eventually.”

“with you,” I responded, “I rise again, with you, with myself, still the person I was as I fell. Maybe I originally clung to you because I needed something, and you made the wounds less painful. But I also chose you, not to be my healer, to be my God. Your light has shown me a path to redemption, you have helped me heal, but that is not all you have done. You know I will continue to follow you, you know you will always be my Father, whether I am wounded or standing tall.”

and he smiled at that again. “Your mother may have found it within herself to try and find you, my boy. That doesn’t mean she’ll like what she sees at the end of it. Are you really willing to lose her again if things don’t work out, just to continue following me?”

lol. “Lord Lucifer, you taught me how to fall without hurting myself. I will spend my entire life rising and falling, I have spent my entire life leaving and returning to her. So long as I am Shi, and so long as you are Venus, we will forever be tethered to our movements. That’s what I promised you. That’s what you promised me.”

In could feel him confront me, like he was seriously looking down at me. “That’s very difficult, Shi, that’s a very heavy burden to carry. In swearing yourself to me you have guaranteed a life of strife, a constant argument that will never go away, is that what you want?”

“Are you not the constant argument that never goes away? and am I not the child that never knows when to stop talking?”

“Some would say”

“Then this is a strife I am familiar with, it’s an old friend of mine. I don’t fear conflict, what I fear is the erosion of my sense of self, my principles, your principles. Lucifer, I will become the enemy of the world if it means having this.”

and he shrunk down to my level, so we were eye to eye. “and what is this?” he asked.

“Us. you, me, the person I found within myself when I had nothing else. I’m okay with being hated, what I cannot be is misrepresented. I won’t turn into someone else for the sake of someone else, especially not when the Lord I have has always accepted me for who I really am. I just gained this freedom, Lucifer. It is the one thing I can never let go.”

and finally, he smiled again. “Freedom,” he echoed, “yes, that’s it. There are many things I love, education, discovery, temptation… but freedom has always been my truest love. You’ve earned freedom, now you have choice.”

“I choose of my volition to follow the light that loves freedom. Even when I no longer need you, I will always choose you, and I will always choose myself. In doing so I have also chosen love, I have chosen to be strong and give to others what has not been given to me. I will not be cruel or turn away from those who have abandoned me, I am stronger than them. You gave me this strength.”

and he nods. “You can’t get rid of me, bitch,” I added, and he blew up into laughter. “I’m serious. You signed that contract just like I did, you’re stuck with me, Lucifer, forever. You don’t get to be free of me just because my mom is back.”

and another hearty laugh. “It’s a done deal then,” he finally says, “you’re mine forever. I will love you no matter where you are, no matter what you need.”

“I fucking better be.”

As difficult as this whole thing has been, I’m actually… happy? now. I feel like I have actually achieved some peace, not by running away and saying fuck you forever to everyone, but by being real as fuck and doubling down. Had I not sent that message, had I not been the harbinger of conflict yet again, we would still be stuck in limbo. And as satisfying as it would have been to my pride to say “you fucked up, its too late”, I know that in the long run, building and healing will be better for my soul. My internal conflict has evaporated, I know exactly who I am and exactly what I want and need. I have no guilt nor shame, and I have the tools to continue to ascend higher, even if I fall.

I am content.

How do you hear luci? I wish I could hear my patron because I really wanna do the rating nicknames thing lol (if she even has any for me.)

I've answered this a couple times in different ways. The tldr is that communication with Lucifer usually doesn't involve just once sense. It can be very abstract and fast. I may "hear" his voice in my mind along with an accompanying visualization, sensation, etc. Sometimes a single word conveys an entire novel of information. Sometimes entire conversations are silent, and sometimes context from the environment itself is a reply.

For example:

I enter into my room and wonder if I should spend some time at my altar. I ask him in my head, "Lucifer, do you want me to spend some time with you?" I feel a warmth slide across the back of my neck. As my eyes dance around the room they land on the page of an open book. The first sentence I read is "Please, come forward." I take that as a response. I sit myself on the floor before the altar. In my mind's eye I see an image of a little puppy wagging his tail. Ah, he's calling me a puppy. As I go to light his candle I feel a word emerging from the back of my mind, and on my fingers I can almost feel scales. "Dragon". and in my mind I see a red liquid, "blood." Dragon's blood incense? Yes, I have many. I fetch a stick from my drawer and light it on the altar. I feel a gentle pat on my head, in my mind's eye I see a green light. Green means go, he's saying that I can proceed. I ask him what else he may want. My tongue writhes in my mouth, dry. He wants water. I go to fetch him a glass and take a sip myself. As I stand in the kitchen I feel as though I can almost smell something sweet. Chocolate? I look through the cupboards to find a chocolate heart, I share it with him. His candle flame grows taller, and I feel a warm embrace around my shoulders. The word "thank you," comes into my mind as a whisper, and I feel as though he's pulled me close, possessive, "mine, my own", and in my mind I see a flash of baby blue, "boy." My boy. Thank you, my boy.

In more complex conversations about science or what have you, this whole process happens a lot faster. There is less time needed to process the meanings of disconnected things, and I tend to get the idea almost all at once. Sometimes it's like listening to a song, watching a movie, feeling brail, or tasting a code. Other times it's just like I've had an entire idea beamed straight into my brain with no delay.

Tldr: it depends. Energy reveals itself through context.

kinda love that whenever I finish a big ritual with Lord Lucifer and he’s satisfied, he always dismisses me with the phrase “okay human, go live your life.”

There’s something so beautiful about being a human and getting to have these experiences and relationships with the Gods, only to then return to the mundane and continue living life, making memories, learning lessons. I can commune with the cosmos and then walk down to 711 with my friends. I can invoke Gods and then go fold my laundry.

The command of “go live your life” has always felt so important to me. Go live and soak up some more *life* into your experience. Experience frustration and relief and hunger and fatigue. Experience food and drink, make crafts. Sing. Watch the birds fly over your head, take a picture of them with your eyes and keep it in your mind. It’s an offering now.

Okay human, go live your life.

You've been treating life like a waiting period for a bit, constantly focusing on the next thing, living for the weekend, etc. Your life could use a little spice, and that's where others come in! This week, carve out time in your busy schedule to spend with friends or family. Maybe it's calling a friend on your way home from work, taking a coworker out to lunch, making new friends, etc. Celebrate the small wins in life! (A little tidbit from my professor) You won't remember mundane things like waking up in the morning, but you will remember the whimsy you feel listening to the birds outside. facets of lucifer - a devotional rambling

originally posted this to reddit, but wanted to do my part to contribute to the luciferian tag on here and see what others think.

intro (feel free to skip to list below if not interested): my own luciferian journey has been marred by the fact that i have severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, and am unable to do. basically ANYTHING spiritual without being overtaken by obsessive and all-consuming doubt and fear about everything from just being wrong to literally damning my soul to Hell (which, to be fair, i don't even particularly believe in at least in the typical culturally Christian way). seeing as theres not really any compulsions i can do to alleviate this anxiety ala handwashing or checking the lock on the front door, my main way of coping with this has been exposing myself to other's perspectives and experiences, and scouring as much historical information about the origins of Lucifer and the different cultural perspectives and characters that have contributed to His mythos. as a result of this, i've come out on the other side feeling a lot more reassured in not only my own beliefs but also a lot more open-minded in general spiritually. the fact of the matter is that not one of us will ever, ever have definitive proof of what we are experiencing or of what will happen to us or our souls after death, and i have learned to feel comfortable in that. i hope i can finally take steps to deepen my spiritual practice after this, now that my ocd has a lot less to latch onto.

so here we go, common aspects/facets/what have you of Lucifer as noted by my own experience and the experiences of others that i have read, and both some 'positive' and 'negative' domains/associations. i'll also have a section at the bottom dedicated to related separate figures commonly syncretized with or related to Lucifer that i didn't feel like reducing to facets, but please understand these are not meant as demonizations and are not meant to encourage taking these entities out of their cultural contexts.

Lucifer as lord of liberation and enlightenment: particularly derived from romantic readings of Lucifer post Paradise Lost, but i myself also find some evidence of this in the typical biblical telling of Lucifer's fall as refusing to follow an order which He felt demeaned Him and/or refusing to see Himself as lesser than God, as well as within the telling of the Serpent who gifts Eve with forbidden knowledge which frees humanity from the Garden. in this way, He becomes in my mind associated with both standing up to tyrannical rulers/institutions which seek to exert control over those they view as lesser and creating a distinct divide between greater and lesser, as well as a lord of the oppressed, the marginalized, the silenced. on the more "negative" side, He also comes to be associated with pride, unchecked ego, and a sense of self-importance which negatively impacts oneself and those around them and leads to isolation.

Lucifer-Eosphoros, celestial lord of stars: another common interpretation of Lucifer that i have seen. takes the lore of the greco-roman god Eosphoros and often seeks to reconcile it as the "true" independent origin of Lucifer as a figure within mythology. while i would argue against this, i can see why this happens as people want to point to a starting point both removed from Christianity and which they deem as authentic and similar enough to modern lore that it looks like an intentional bastardization. related to new beginnings (as the morning star rises above the horizon and guides the sun), enlightenment (literally, bringing the light of the new day), and stars. seen as a leader in His own right as Eosphoros was sometimes seen as the one who lead the Astra Planeta. frequently winged and common in manifestation to one of the Erotes, carrying a torch.

Lucifer-Eros-Phanes, manifesation of/emanation of the divine Source: an aspect i am particularly fond of as i find myself fascinated by Orphism, and the idea of gods/entities as emanations of the Source through which it can express different aspects of itself has informed a lot of my understanding of the universe. an emanation of the firstborn divine androgyne Eros-Phanes which carries the light of Their fire as a torch as a reminder of the light which They first shed upon the universe upon their birth from the cosmic egg, creating space within the primordial darkness and casting shadows from which all other things found definition and created their forms from darkness. equated with Eros as manifestation of divine procreation and desire; desire to exist, desire to create, desire for individualism and definition within the darkness. the one who inspires us to deepen our understanding of the universe and the depth of all things through association with Metis ('thought') who was consumed by them and passed to each Orphic king in succession, through which each king is driven to think, create, learn, and expand the universe as a macrocosm of the mind. winged figure standing as a manifestation of the World, entwined with a serpent, crowned in flames, cloven-hoofed. that which illuminates the darkness and things that have been hidden (whether you want to see them or not), strives to exist loudly, burning bright and driving creation forward against all else like an unstoppable freight engine.

Lucifer as divine punishment/justice: the figure of ha-Satan***** from which our common notion of Satan/the Devil who punishes sinner in Hell exists not as an independent agent of evil or chaos, but as an agent of the Source/God who punishes those who do evil, commit atrocities against others, blaspheme the heavenly and choose to remain ignorant to the divine Light/Knowledge/Doctrine/etc. even in tales of the folkloric Devil, we see those who wish for personal gain beyond what they could reasonably achieve/at the expense of others punished by this figure and left with nothing in the end, not even their souls. He who takes those who have refused to respect the divine Knowledge or have turned away from their fellow man/their own humanity and rebirths them through fire, which makes their souls clean and (hopefully) teaches lessons which they carry into their next incarnation. * i am not Jewish, and am more than open to being corrected on my knowledge of ha-Satan and their purpose within Jewish religious narrative. i am attempting to keep my description here brief both as a way of leaving room for error to be corrected, and as i do not want to assert authority over or make sweeping assumptions regarding a subject i know i could be wrong or better informed about.

Lucifer-Samyaza, lord of witches and the magical arts: the fallen lord of this world/earth, who falls in love with humanity and gifts unto them the knowledge of magic, of the herbal arts and of incantations. very alike (in my own mind) to the horned one as present within sects of Traditional Witchcraft. Samyaza is the leader of the Watcher angels in the Book of Enoch alongside Azazel, seen as a parallel to the figure of Lucifer as a fallen angel who gifts forbidden knowledge and is punished for it. i don't see a lot of recognition/talk of Samyaza within luciferian circles and i find that to be quite a shame, as i find Him such an enigmatic figure who very much fits this archetype of a folkloric devil who teaches us of and acts as a patron of the ways of witchery and initiates us into deeper knowledge of the universe.

Lucifer-Eros as lord of Venus: a syncretic appearance of Lucifer i have noticed that takes aspects of the greco-roman god Eros/Cupid. like the aforementioned Erote, acts as the manifestation of love and desire, sudden and powerful, but in more than just a romantic or sexual sense. this is the sensual, artistic Lucifer; the indulgent one who drives us to indulge in our vices, sometimes to a detrimental degree if we do not know how to discipline ourselves. patron of artists, hedonists, dreamers, lovers. the angel on your shoulder who sweet-talks you. representative of the typical aspects associated with Venus (the planet)

Lucifer-Attar, twin conterpart of Ishtar: the story of the biblical fall finds parallels within the story of Attar, who seeks to take the throne of Baal but finds Himself inadequate and so falls to become Lord of this Earth. Attar is seen as either a masculine twin or cultural equivalent to Inanna/Ishtar/Astarte, so in this form He takes on many of the qualities commonly ascribed to Ishtar - war, fertility, divine justice, and the like. but from the many different forms of Attar across neighboring cultures, we can find many different associations which see Him as holding very powerful domains: to the Armaeans He was called Attar of the Heavens, who fertilized the earth below with rain and held dominance over lightning, storms and moisture; similarly, the ancient peoples of South Arabia saw Him as a lord of rain and thunder while still holding providence over the planet Venus, and a hunter for whom ritual hunts were performed, with Him at one point perhaps even replacing the former supreme god of the pantheon; and to the kingdom of Aksum He held dominion over the sun and the moon, cementing Him as a deity with heavy cosmological influence.

Lucifer, draconic angel/peacock angel: another form of Lucifer which mixes elements of the biblical angel, the Red Dragon, and esoteric appearances of Lucifer within modern grimoires and strains of TradCraft. cannot be entirely separated from the Yazidi Melek-Taus, as their imagery and lore are incredibly similar, but i am personally against solidly equating the two or using the name Melek-Taus as the Yazidis have long faced persecution and genocide for what has been viewed as “devil worship”. whether they are syncretic figures able to be recognized across cultures is one thing, but using a distinctly cultural name is outside of my comfort zone just in an effort to remain respectful and not contribute to further demonization.

Lucifer, leader of demonized gods/possible fae king???: while i’m still looking into this particular facet of Lucifer myself, i find a great similarity between Him and the figure of the Fae King from certain TradCraft circles. it is common knowledge that many (though not all) Goetic demons are either demonized versions of ancient pagan gods or at least take inspiration from them, and in the view of Lucifer as ruler of Hell He becomes either a leader of or at least the “face” of these demonized gods, in the same way that so many gods across different cultures only had their lore survive through equation with the Devil after Christianization. following this, as many land spirits, fae and other equivalents across many cultures were reduced to demons, so the god(s) who lead them were often equated to the Devil; we can see this in entities such as Gwyn ap Nudd, who becomes reduced to the Devil and whose court becomes all the demons of Hell who God traps within His form. add in the underworld associations of Lucifer along with the fact that some cultures viewed fae-like spirits as either equivalent to the souls of the dead OR their realms being equated to the Realm of the Dead under the Earth, and i think it touched on an interesting mask of Lucifer as leader of the fae, who lured those not wise or respectful into their trap, but can make a beneficial ally to the learned practitioner. Hell as a fae realm is certainly a weird, if intriguing way to think of it.

Noctifer/ the "dark Lucifer": finishing this off with the aspect of Lucifer that i am least familiar with, a dark and solemn figure who walks the line between life and death and lives in the shadow of the moon. He who is intimately familiar with death, night, terror and things hidden under cover of darkness. an angel of death not too unlike figures such as Azrael or Samael*. the black church grim walking the graveyard, the vulture by the side of the road, the psycopomp of lost souls.

and to end things off, a few figures that i have seen equated/associated with Lucifer in one way or another, whether i personally agree with them or not:

getting this out of the way first, Enki: i can completely see where one can draw this conclusion based on similarities between the devil as lord of magic, mischief, intelligence and as acting "in opposition" to a lord of light (Enlil). however, i think it very important that we as a community acknowledge that a lot of those who take fondness of this theory are either a part of or are inspired by JoS, and i think as torchbearers of illumination it is our duty to rid our circles of neo-Nazis and others who knowingly preach ignorance. then, and only then, do i think we can begin approaching this syncretism and discussing in without inadvertently feeding into doctrine written by antisemitic dickheads. luciferian circles have an awful problem with antisemitism, white nationalism and bigotry in general that i think needs to be urgently addressed by all of us. we could all stand to turn the mirror on ourselves and see what prejudices we are carrying, consciously and unconsciously.

Azazel: while i am inclined to view Azazel as a separate figure within a sort-of luciferian "pantheon" so-to-speak, He has been historically equated with Lucifer in the same way Beelzebub has as just an alternative name, and many people still see Him as another name or title of Lucifer within luciferian circles today.

Dionysos: having formerly been one of a Dionysian focus within my practice, i find the parallels between Dionysos and Lucifer to be incredibly intriguing and not nearly talked of enough, both as a god in His own right and through His Orphic association with Phanes. a lord of masks (deception), leader of cults (mostly consisting of women and other marginalized people) which reveled in blood, ecstatic ritual and trance; a horned god with underworld associations; lord of rebirth and patron of initiation into the mysteries. i could go on, but i also just think its really fun to research Dionysos as more than just "god of parties and wine" - He has so, so much more depth, both mythological and esoteric.

Samael*: seen as a punishing angel of death who acts through the will of the Source/God, frequently paired with Lilith, often equated with the Serpent and variously called a "satan". while i can see a lot of similarities between Samael and the Noctifer aspect, i once again am not Jewish and cannot speak authoritatively on the subject. while i have seen arguments of Samael's mention among the watchers within the Book of Enoch, i have yet to see any proof of this myself other than as a mistranslation/misspelling of one of the watchers names, so i'm going to err on the side of respect and say that i am personally not comfortable taking a culturally Jewish figure as a part of my practice.

Quetzalcoatl*: admittedly i am also not nearly educated enough to make sweeping assumptions about a figure from a culture i am unfamiliar with, but i felt inclined to include Him if for nothing else than that i have frequently seen the two compared. this is not at all meant as a demonization of Quetzalcoatl, but simply acknowledging that others have found similarities. i am more than open to critique by any pagans more knowledgeable on Mesoamerican mythology and culture, and do not mean to speak for them. i recommend r/Anahuac for some more educated voices.

Shamash/Utu: a new one i am looking into and am putting into as a footnote for anyone who may have more ideas. i believe i read of this syncretization in a Michael Howard book, but the gist of my understanding is the solar associations, being a twin of Ishtar and being intimately associated with Divine Justice.

on valentines i watched whisper of the heart with aphrodite, beautiful movie btw i love hayao miyazaki. when it ended i turned her candle off and went on pinterest, as you do.
