I never thought that working with the Gods meant that I'll receive things too, not only give them offerings and devotionals posts, wear jewelry for them and say about my days.
No, they want to gift me things too. Isn't this surprising?
I'm in the process of working with Lady Aphrodite again, and before I light up a candle or make a playlist as my first offering to her. She simply gives me a new friend???? Like??? Ma'am I didn't do anything to deserve this but I'll cherish it dearly.
Lord Apollo also gifted me a wonderful friend and I'm forever grateful to him for this. I love my friend as if she was a sister to me.
Lord Eros is a sweetheart that always made sure to make me feel comfortable about my silly crushes and my desire to be loved by a guy.
I love the Deities, they protects us and gift us even when we think that we don't deserve it.
All they ask back is respect, is to receive our devotion and that we give them things that come from our heart, it doesn't matter if it's just a silly poem (something that I love to gift them), because it's the intention that matters.
The Gods love us, if you needed a signal that they love you, here it is: they love you. They love you because you are you and that's what matter.

Clear-eyed Athena
Goddess unrivaled in wisdom
Born of the head of wise and mighty Zeus
Bestow upon me wisdom and reason
Bless me with good judgment
As I pour out my offering to you Lady Athena
Hear me and bless me
So that I may succeed in my endeavors
Grant me a sound mind
So that I may succeed in my schooling
That I may call upon your great knowledge and wisdom
That I may know what is best
Accept this offering mighty Athena
And extend to me aid
Grant to me the gifts of knowledge and wisdom
Allow me focus and learning
Lady Athena grant me your aid that I may pass all this semester's classes
That when I do at the end of semester I will give you offerings of art and poetry

I begin to sing of Pallas Athena, the glorious goddess, bright-eyed, inventive, unbending of heart, pure virgin, saviour of cities, courageous, Tritogeneia.
Homeric hympn to Athena.

Working with Lady Athena it's like...One of the best things that could happen to me! Was I scared about working with her? Oh, totally. I was on the verge of running to the mountains.
I mean, she's literally the Goddess of Wisdom???? How you don't get intimidated by that????
But in reality, she's the kindest to me, always patient when I tell my worries, always guiding me through life and helping me make wise choices.
Lady Athena it's for the girlies that grew insecure about their own interests, who read books, go through sites just to search about your newest hyperfixation. For the girlies that have the rage of your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother and so goes on.
I just love to tell her about my day, about my hyperfixation and about the fanfiction that I'm writing at this moment. She loves to hear all about that.
By the way, I literally have a devotional on going story for her. I didn't posted anywhere and only my trusted friends read them, but the story has a place inside my heart.
Lady Athena will always support your dreams, she's mother too even though she's a virgin Goddess. Believe in her and everything will be fine 💕

I enjoy Greek pottery, especially the pottery that is made to represent the deities.
It's a hobby to collect them for me when I'm able to and I love the feeling of dopamine I get from it when I add a new piece to the shelves that house every collectable thing that I've been able to snatch up (/lighthearted). The collection shelf itself isn't Greek pottery-exclusive and has some Egyptian and Asian style pottery, things, and statues as well that I enjoyed.
However the shelf is used as an altar of sorts for Lord Apollon and Lady Athena simultaneously, which for me makes it special when I add to it. A few of my personal fave pieces of it are specifically the statues of Lord Apollon and Lady Athena I think my mum was able to find me at some point.
I have a murray of different pottery for multiple Greek deities as well. It's not even limited to the deities I specifically and actively work with such as lord Dionysus, I have a few painted plates detailing him and I was at some point trying to give him his own shelf since my collection shelf doesn't have much space on it anymore. (Albeit I failed solely due to how easily the plates were at risk of falling and breaking from their shelf when I was rearranging my room and then forgot to put them back on it lmao.)
It's basically one of my own ways to appreciate the deities; to keep up with the shelf and collect.

it warms my heart whenever anxiety about my practice takes over me, clouding my judgement and beliefs — and, then, i receive reassuring signs from the deity i'm worshiping and working with.
i'm specifically referring to those moments when you're noticing some unusual things and you ask a deity for additional signs, to see if they're reaching out to you or if you are mistaken.
so you're left with anticipation, waiting and waiting for signs — but the thing about signs is that they come when you least expect them, or at least this is what happens in my experience.
at some point you're starting to doubt your abilities, thinking that maybe those weren't signs of a deity, perhaps you were just looking too much into them... and, suddenly, when your thoughts drift to an entirely different topic, the sign you specifically asked for appears in front of you.
you're surprised but also excited, you can't believe what just happened, you're so unbelievably happy — but then, you feel like it could also just be a coincidence. so you ask for that same sign to appear again.
and it does; it does so multiple times.
it is something that makes me so happy and glad, something that makes me feel safe and not alone.
of course not everything is about signs and people do not necessarily receive them immediately; you're free to reach out to a deity if you would like to build a connection with them — but in this post, i'm talking about those times when you have asked for a sign and received it.
i'm deeply grateful and thankful to deities for all the things they do for us.

Theoi Info Sheets Series Part 4: Divinities of War - Ares & Athena
"Ares there – and for all his war cries Diomedes shrank at the sight, as a man at a loss, helpless, crossing a vast plain halts short at a river rapids surging out to sea, takes one look at the water roaring up in foam and springs back with a leap. So he recoiled.
– Homer; The Iliad, Book 5, lines 684-689.
"Her gray eyes clear, the goddess Athena answered, 'Down from the skies I come to check your rage if only you will yield. The white-armed goddess Hera sped me down: she loves you both, she cares for you both alike. Stop this fighting, now. Don’t lay hand to sword. Lash him with threats of the price that he will face.'"
– Homer; The Iliad, Book 1, lines 241-246

In all honesty, I have never worked with or worshipped Ares or Athena. As an individual who is extremely conflict avoidant, I believe I would be ill fit as a devotee of either deity.
In my youth I felt those around me drawn to Athena. Many of my friends associated Her with being a goddess of wisdom - and so my "nerdy" and "book smart" friends felt very connected to Her. She was often paired with fictional alignments like Ravenclaw (Harry Potter) and Erudite (Divergent) - neither of which appealed to me (I personally align with Slytherin/Hufflepuff and Dauntless/Candor).
Meanwhile, Ares was always portrayed as an evil and violent god in the media I consumed. In stark contrast to Apollo, who was always portrayed as a god worthy of praise and adoration, Ares was seen as a bad omen - an energy to be avoided at all costs. Now that I am older, I can see the passion and wisdom that comes from Ares. I can see how he is a god of protection, of social justice, and of protest.
While neither of these deities hold a spot in my personal pantheon - I believe they are worthy of respect, and I wish all their devotees nothing but the best.
