I’ve been following gardener, George at Bailiwick Blue, who grows dye materials for organic dying. Here she is harvesting Coreopsis flowers to make yellow, orange and red dyes. I plan to continue the story over the summer as more plants come into season.

Teens - I wanted to explore this transitional period of young teens coming of age through friendship and togetherness. I photographed Indie and Grace with their sisters Willow and Ruby at a sleepover in the spring hanging out, playing games and very much getting on each others nerves!

José "Pitbull" Valera is an internationally acclaimed Muay Thai competitor with over 22 years of experience in the sport. As a 3-time world champion, he has also earned other prestigious titles including European Champion and British Champion. We hung out for an afternoon in my studio in London and chatted about his accomplishments over the years.
“I think my biggest achievement out of it has been my life experience. What Muay Thai did to me, it showed me who I am and what to do with myself. I learnt a lot about my self.”
“That’s the thing about sports, every career got a different purpose. I think Muay Thai can teach you how to grow, see things better, behave better around people, be more patient and caring as well. That’s the thing as a trainer, you have to care about people so they don’t get hurt, cos it’s dangerous. People get more hurt in training than in the ring.”

Dr Amy Orben is a professor of psychology at the University of Cambridge. I photographed her for Zeit.
Dr Orben investigates how digital technologies affect adolescent psychological well-being and mental health.
“For years, Orben has been dealing with a question that also concerns parents, politicians and teachers: What do smartphones do to our children? Are they just a new technology that belongs in children's hands? Or are smartphones dangerous, do they make our children sad, addicted or even suicidal?”
Thanks for the commission Felix and Jasmina.

Plaza De Danzón - Mexico City
Every Saturday crowds of people get together in the square to dance to Danzón, a Cuban style of music that is very popular in Mexico City. It’s open to anyone, of any level and age, although it is very popular with the older generation.
I met this couple canoodling on the side as they waited to go up on stage. The sense of community was overwhelming and I even got invited for two dances!

Hunger Magazine have featured my documentary project based on the Wanstead Flats near my home in Newham.
“Wanstead Flats is located at the southernmost part of Epping Forest and is part of Newham in East London. Since the 2012 Olympics, it has seen major changes of gentrification and re-generation which has caused major inequality across the borough. I think it is important to ask questions and encourage a dialogue to address these issues and how we might move forward together,” says photographer @caitlinchescoe, whose portrait of Kenneatha and Keziah in their matching pink tracksuits won Portrait of Britain Awards in 2022. Gentrification is continuing to erode local communities and societal infrastructures all around the UK. As demand increases, rents go up and the landscape of communities changes completely. Chescoe’s intimate glance into Wanstead Flats immortalises the loving and tight-knit part of the world in light of its precarious future.
