I'm back from beyond the veil for another sasosaku AU. prepare for my imminent disappearance.

Sakura is a prodigy forensic pathology resident-- probably finished undergrad in 2 or 3 years. Sasori is an unhinged artist who's medium of choice is cadavers (a very damien hirst-esque choice!)

His fascination lies within having the person's last moments last forever... here comes sakura! and he tries to get her to procure him dead bodies, basically. then they bone (sakura's med school induced dry spell is ended, but at what cost...)

deidara is sasori's roommate. He works as a construction worker during the day, artist/arsonist (artsonist??) by night. He's all punk, sasori is emo. They met in undergrad, then deidara was expelled. Sasori has a masters in fine art, that he uses for nefarious purposes.

comedy of errors and the inherent terror of being in your late twenties, still paying off your car, and not owning a home.

Sasori has a borderline illegal amount of botox in his face btw.

Bitchin’ Beans (accidentally vegan)

This was what I cooked for my family on Wednesday night. Best served hot with couscous, this can most aptly be described as “what if an english garden had a child with tagine?”

Ingredients—

Olive oil

1 can garbanzo beans

1.5tbsp tomato paste

1 large carrot, diced

1 bulb fennel, diced

7 mangled scallions, chopped finely

6 cloves garlic

Salt

Mushrooms (as many as you want!)

Tomatoes

2 beets, boiled and skinned, large dice

~1 cup Red wine

~1.75 cup Veg broth…????

Spices— cumin, corriander seeds, fennel seeds, a bit of paprika, SALT…, oregano. Lemon and orange zest.

Addt.

Can add mushroom seasoning, msg, vegetable buillon cube, or ~1.5tbsp miso paste, if you desire a more umami taste.

1. healthy glug of olive oil. With heat on medium, caramelize your carrot/fennel/scalions. Add a little bit of salt to sweat it out.

2. Add tomato paste (and optional miso paste). IMPORTANT!!! You MUST allow the sugars in miso/tomato paste to burn off and caramelize, or else it will not be nearly savory enough. Add spices. Allow to form a bit of crust on the bottom.

3. Deglaze with your veg broth and red wine.

4. Add beans (simmer for a little bit). Add mushrooms(simmer). Add beets, salt to taste, beets absorb salt like nobody’s business.

5. Simmer for ~15… add tomatoes 😝

6. Add lemon and orange zest, generously. Simmer for ~10 mins.

7. Sample and add more spices to taste.

8. Make your couscous about now (bring .5tsp salt, 1tbsp olive oil, 1 cup water to boil. Take off heat and add one cup dry cous cous. Let rest for 5 minutes)

9. Et voila! Plate and eat…!

happy one year anniversary to the hetship from hell.

i missed sasosaku month because my tablet broke on the 1st of november (i'm not kidding) and i got a new one for my birthday which is the 30th of november. so please accept this, instead. i feel a little sorry since sakura's face looks slightly more misshapen than i'd like.

it is a highschool au inspired by @aprito and their college handball au. they are patron saint of sasosaku being the worst straight couple on the block, and i appreciate them so much for that.

the entire concept in my head is what if jock, kind of masc sakura dated twinky sasori, but also highschool au. in my mind, sasori is a marble sculptor and taxidermist, while sakura plays rugby. it was between hockey (field or ice it doesn't matter too much), rugby, handball or water polo.

i think sasori is incredibly down bad down horrendous for his sport rat soon to be gf. he wants to be wifed up soooo bad, ooooo. he acts uninterested and stoic when around her or else he will beg her to sit on his face.

conversely, sakura is a total pigtail puller and comes up with the sickest (yet also most juvenile) burns ever because she doesn't like the fact that she carnally desires this under-130-pounds, 5'2 little man. however facts are facts and she cannot avoid them, no matter how hard she tries. poor sakura.

this is also an academic rivals au. sakura is ranked first in school and sasori second. he for sure-for sure has an entire complex about this.
