Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

Current TF 141 wakes up in the OG universe, in their OG bodies.

For Price, not much is different, though he feels older, his facial hair is wrong, and his voice is less destroyed by years of smoking. At least the facial hair is fixable. Grumpy about his now aching more than ever back, he makes his way to his office and starts looking into his own file as well as those of his teammates.

For Soap, though he'd never admit it, he feels like he got an upgrade. A scar over his left eye and a squarer jaw, coupled with his apparent promotion, as those around him have been falling him Captain since he left his room, have him practically preening. Opening his mouth reveals a voice not quite as low, and more accented, which he can (has to) live with.

Ghost is pissed. Not only is he now downgraded to his old balaclava, rip 20+ custom skull plate masks, he thinks, but he's also lost several centimeters of altitude. As he makes his way towards Captain Price's office it become increasingly clear that in this universe, him stalking through the base like an angry wet cat is common, as no one bats an eye and several men toss him a decently cheery "hey Lt!" as he goes. Being forced to look up to see Soap, who apparently outranks him now, fills him with the urge to put his fist through something. Perhaps a computer monitor.

Gaz is having an awful time. Not only did he wake up in a body that most definitely isn't his, but the men at the gate tried to arrest him because apparently in this universe, and isn't that a fucking wild thought, the operator known as Gaz is dead. He had to sneak in after losing the guards, at least he was still a highly skilled soldier. He snuck up to the window of Price's office, and could hear 3 unfamiliar voices from within. After eavesdropping for a moment he surmised that it was his team, in the exact same predicament as himself. He wasn't alone. Thank fuck. Climbing through the window was the quickest option, but had him tossed back against a wall by some little guy in a skull mas- Ghost?

"Who the fuck are you?" Small Ghost spits up at him.

"I'm Gaz." He replies, admittedly miserably.

Ghost relents, but hesitantly. "Why are you white?"

"Why are you short?" Gaz shoots back without thinking.

A much larger Soap than Gaz is used to lunges forward to restrain Ghost, stopping him from presumably fileting Gaz for his cheek.

Writing With Color: Helps with writing about culture, ethnicity, and religion. Overall, it gives advice on how to write about diversity.

Name Generator: As the name says, it helps you build names for your characters. Very useful if you cannot think of names for your characters!

KathySteinemann: The 'archive.pdf' section helps you with synonyms in case you struggle to find the right word for your sentences (also to avoid using redundant words).

Spwickstrom: Similar to the previous one, this one provides grammar tips. Extremely helpful when finding phrases, verbs, conjunctions, adjectives, and so on.

Servicescape: The perfect website if you're experiencing writer's block. It provides writing prompts. It helps you spark creativity when it comes to writing.

Aren't you taking what Graves said at face value? Because he took something Alejandro said and made it an absolute. ( Because how does the Narcos being generous to win over the people mean that the people will do anything to help them? He more meant that they aren't going to report the Narcos or rat them out.) Also, we will ignore the fact that an American private military contractor hired by the American government has absolutely ZERO power in other countries, because they are civilians AND that PMC's are often a point of controversy because they can commit war crimes that the governing body doesn't have to deal with because they aren't an 'official government force and are this not beholden to international military regulation'

But since you quoted Graves, let me quote Ghost and Soap:

Ghost: 'What's the latest?'

Soap: 'Mercs are killing everyone in their path.'

Ghost: 'War Crimes..'

Soap: 'Makes me want to commit a few war crimes of my own.'

Ghost: 'Tyranny. It won't stand.'

A little later

Soap: 'Graves is rounding up cops.'

Ghost: 'He's judge, jury, and executioner now.'

Earlier in the same level we see him killing unarmed people begging for their lives after he drags them out of their houses, he sets some of the houses on fire, multiple times we run across dead civilians who have done no wrong. Even if what Graves says is, by some crazy miracle, completely true.... He's still in a FOREIGN country on FOREIGN SOIL. you can't just go to other countries and start killing people because you think they're bad, my guy. And yeah, it's pretty damn racist to say 'every single Mexican in this town is working for the cartel' like what justifies that? Because for Graves, it's that they're Mexican. He looks Alejandro dead in the eyes and tells him that because Ale said he's not allowed to have the base, the Ale must be cartel.

And before you try to say that I'm arguing any of the other characters are unproblematic..... The point is that they're all problematic. Every single character makes shitty decisions, because they're human. And repeat after me, because some people on this website don't seem to understand: YOU CAN STILL LIKE A CHARACTER WITHOUT JUSTIFYING THEIR BAD DECISIONS. It's not a problem that people like Graves. It's a problem when you say that a whole ass town of innocent civilians deserved what happened to them because some fuckin American asshole came in and decided that he gets to kill everyone without getting into trouble. It's also a problem when you say that what he did was understandable because he believed them all to be cartel.

Let's break some of your points down too: you quote Alejandro saying the military and police are cartel. Most of the people we see killed are civilians. At one point, the Shadows say the Narcos are gone, but they're still killing people. We don't see them arrest anyone at all, just line them all up and kill them. But go off about how Graves 'did it because he had to'. Like I know a lot of people who don't help the police, but that doesn't mean they're criminals. In this specific case, it makes even more sense that they don't want to be helpful: a man playing pretend military who works for America has no business in arresting/detaining/killing anybody in Mexico, period. And yeah, full offense, how does ' yeah, the military and lots of cops are paid by Narcos and the town is pretty poor so they accept the help Narcos give them and may be reluctant to rat them out' = everyone in this town is working for the cartel and all men, women, and children are dangerous?

In short, what Graves says is : If they're Mexican, they're cartel. He doesn't assume Ghost and Soap are cartel, even when they side with Alejandro. He does assume Alejandro is, for saying a common phrase. Case in point: he's made a sweeping generalization that Mexicans= cartel, which is racist.

As for 2: I'm American. I have an accent. I can speak Spanish. My accented Spanish still sounds like Spanish. Spanish with a non-native accent is not even close to the disrespectful as fuck words coming out of Graves' mouth. Get a new bit, and maybe see if you can find some of those videos where people speak in languages with completely unrelated accents. It sure as hell doesn't sound like that.

HC: Simon has always liked his lips, its one of the few things he got from his mother. They're plush and pretty and he got many compliments on them once upon a time, even now he keeps up with a nice little lip routine and he is never found without a bottle of lip oil or chapstick. Roba and his men made fun of them, his 'womanly lips' that looked so good around them, he hates them now. They took a chunk out of them when they gave him a Glasgow smile, and now he always has his eye tooth poking out just a bit. What used to be his favorite feature is now one he hates, because it got ruined by men just like his mom did.
