Naruto Uzumaki.

- Forgave and befriended the demon that killed both of his parents and lived inside him for years, causing the villagers around him to treat him like scum even as a child, because he knew that it wasn’t Kurama’s fault to be manipulated and set free that way. - Protected his entire village with his chakra during the fourth great ninja war. The very same village who shunned him and never apologized for it. - FOUGHT. A. WAR. DURING. HIS. SEVENTEENTH. BIRTHDAY. - Cried when he met his mom. - Never, ever gave up on Sasuke. Even when he couldn’t quite understand him. And when he understood Sasuke’s pain, he offered to shoulder it and die with him, so his best friend (boyfriend) would never be alone again. - Smiles so bright he can light up an entire town ok. - Loves ramen noodles, protect him. - His voice goes soft™ when he talks about Sasuke Uchiha (same my dude). - “I don’t care who I have to fight! If he rips my arms out, I’ll kick him to death! If he rips my legs off, I’ll bite him to death! If he rips my head off, I’ll stare him to death! And if he gouges out my eyes, I’ll curse him from the grave! even if I’m torn to shreds, I’m taking Sasuke back from Orochimaru!” - Literally is so passionate and determined. - Have you seen his eyes. - Understands people’s feelings so well. - Loves plants. - I love him.

Napping Sasuke:

• Sasuke loves naps and will blow shit up if you bother him during one of them

• Only Naruto may sneak into his bed and cuddle him and pet his hair, if he turns away, you may only spoon.

• if you spoon and he grunts - just leave, he’s being a bratty baby today and ur bothering him.

• Naruto tickles Sasuke once in a blue moon, while he naps. Sometimes he can get a head start and run away from Sasuke before his blushing and giggling is under control, most times, he gets a swift uppercut.

• Napping together is a case of futility. Sasuke hogs all the blankets and pillows. Usually Naruto is just there as a body heater and personal head massager.

• Sasuke will get hot and push Naruto away, then get cold and lay on his whole person.

• Sasuke loves laying his head on Naruto’s chest, listening to his breathing is one of the few things that let him nap when he’s been restless.

• When Naruto wants to nap but Sasuke is bored, he will poke and cuddle and grind and do nearly anything to get the blondes attention without using many words. Pouting always works. Naruto will open one eye, sigh and laugh and mumble “alright, alright.” While nearly body tackling Sasuke. Victory is sweet and Sasuke will always smirk like the little shit he is.

• Sasuke looks like an angel when he naps, his face is rested, lips slightly parted: Naruto is totally okay with just looking at this teme.

• Sasuke has been caught sleeping with Naruto’s jacket. It shall not be mentioned. Neither should it be mentioned that he woke up blushy and calling out for Naruto, because shut up, that’s why.

• Sasuke is a cranky asshole when he doesn’t get his naps, but refuses to admit or allow anyone to tell him he needs a nap.

• When Naruto is really tired and stressed, Sasuke will make him take a hot shower and then let Naruto drape himself on Sasuke, wedged between his legs. It’s comfy, more then he will say. Naruto will fall asleep almost instantly, the safe and sound type vibe is overwhelming and he always has peaceful dreams like this.

• ^ secret: Sasuke loves this, its both tending to Naruto as well as self healing. This calm contact and rest is just natural and his mind always goes real quiet.

• Sasuke will not tolerate being called an old man because he likes napping. He will fight you.

• and win. Except that one time with Sakura but that “doesn’t count.” Because he wasn’t “even trying.”

• Sasuke will sigh, say he’s done enough and go home to nap

• Sasuke will grab Naruto’s hand in any given situation and drag him off to napping time, it will take a war to convince him of doing otherwise.

• Bonus: Naruto likes his sleepy boyfriend a lot.

It wasn’t my fault, but everyone acted as if it was. That just made it worse. But then… a few people came along who paid attention to me. That made it better. It was alright then, even though I had this monster inside me. Even though everyone else acted like I didn’t exist. Because I wasn’t alone anymore. For the first time in a long time, I was happy again. Really, really happy. They made me remember how good life could be. They made me glad to be alive. But when I think back to where I was before I met them, it’s scary. Nothing but pain and darkness. What would I be like if I stayed there? All alone. That’s how come I can understand him.”

Note: I don’t think we give enough credit to Naruto—or at least, not at this point in time. This was Naruto reflecting on his life after meeting Gaara, after seeing how similar their situations were yet how drastic their outcome. 

Naruto may not have a high cognitive intelligence, but his emotional intelligence goes above and beyond the norm. Emotional intelligence refers to a person’s ability to perceive, control, evaluate, and express emotions. Research has found that individuals with strong leadership potential also tend to be more emotionally intelligent—which just supports even further why this unpredictable hyperactive ninja became Hokage. 

I know at this time we found it really amusing that he always stated, “I’m gonna be Hokage someday!” and assumed that obviously the show was going to end with that because of the efforts he put to get there, but I think it’s really important to note how Naruto was such a great candidate for that position because of this inherent quality. 

I read somewhere how when encountering a person who is extremely unstable mentally or otherwise, the first and foremost thing you should do is listen to what they have to say—to try and understand them. Why? Because most of the time, such people just need someone to just accept their emotions and their words as holding importance—to accept the fact that their emotions are real and worthy of attention. 

We have made Naruto’s ‘talk-no-jutsu” somewhat of a joke and just something more funny than serving a purpose—and yes, sometimes it does appear as if it is overdone—but just think about it for a second. This is the ninja world where these shinobi are constantly killing and such a life is traumatic at times. Think of all the people Naruto has met that have gone through so many traumatic experiences and are just not mentally stable and the very first thing he always does is listen. To try and relate. To understand them. To say, “Hey, I hear what you’re saying, and I understand your emotions are real.” 

This quality of his—THIS right here is why he TRULY became Hokage. Why he was so qualified for the position. He never believed any feeling or thought was below him and he always listened to each person he encountered. He brought people together this way. And when you’re sitting at such a high position as Hokage (or whatever position of leadership), it is SO important to be both perceptive and receptive of e v e r y person out there—no matter what their status/rank/race/age/personality/ideology/etc.

And on top of that all, Naruto was very self-aware. Do you see how he reflected on being the kyuubi container? He’s this thirteen-year-old kid who realized that the hate people had was targeted toward the kyuubi container, not him. But because they were one in the same thing, the hate was also targeted towards him. And because he was able to grasp this concept, he was able to use this to push forward to turn that hate around by reaching out to one person at a time until he was reaching out to the whole of the shinobi world. 

It’s honestly so beautiful. We could all learn so much from his character. And try to apply some of his methods to our daily lives. Imagine how much positive change that would bring into this world.

so i heard that one of the abandoned naruto movie ideas was the switched lives theme and i’ve been thinking about that since

it’s p obvious that the jinchuuriki and the uzumaki clan would take the uchiha clan’s place for naruto and his parents would function as some kind of itachi, his father choosing/having to choose the village over family and his mother being used by the village n all

but idk about sasuke, his story cannnn’t really be twisted in a way to fit naruto’s

anyway i already drew their alternative outfits. i left naruto’s shirt like that cuz showing off jinchuuriki pride would be a main part of his agenda and the coat is obligatory because it’s there in sage mode/KCM mode/hokage uniform so i wanted to put it here too
