He's an orphan thief who has one failed relationship in his back pocket, god forbid a man experience emotional growth while adjusting to a completely different lifestyle.

Him & Rapunzel are both completely out of their wheelhouses socially & they trip over each other BECAUSE Eugene's only perception of relationships, right now, is, Girls Want Marriage.

That's what Stalyan wanted, right? So he's trying to figure out where & when Rapunzel wants that, but, thinks that has to be the end goal here, RIGHT? That's what all girls want, hell, he was kidnapped for marriage. So when does he do it while still respecting that Rapunzel is having trouble adjusting? OF COURSE he's going to mess up a lot.

He also learns that there are people in the world who may know more than him [Adira] & as someone who controlled his own life from his own bubble, that's a lesson he learned the hard way in the forest.

He's not dumb, he's trying. Y'all are just looking at him trip over learning, & calling people dumb for learning emotions & life lessons is kind of mean.
