Dance of the Dead is the fall offering in a series of immersive dance performances by the Dancing Danphe put on at the Stolen Spotlight lounge in Ul’dah.  During daytime hours, the lounge caters to an exclusive clientele, but performance nights are open to all and are free of charge in the interest of promoting the arts in Eorzea.

Doors open at 9PM Eastern Daylight Time to seat guests and provide refreshment, and the performance begins about 45 minutes past the hour. Music is provided via cytube and is highly recommended for the full experience. The lounge remains open after performances until the last guests leave.

The Stolen Spotlight encourages all guests to continue RPing in say/emote with others who are gathered to watch, even during the performance runtime.  Performance messages are only posted once every few minutes in the shout channel to provide narrative description and not to dominate conversation. Please feel encouraged to bring a friend and use the lounge and performance as a backdrop for your roleplay, so long as that roleplay is not disruptive or offensive to other guests.

I realized I never actually took the time to show off Caqi’s current armor glam! I’m really proud of this one because it’s entirely unique pieces! Due to that it took me dying several of the pieces different shades to match them but it was worth the hassle.

The far from final prayer

Dried grass crunches beneath Ismat’s boots as she makes her way towards the Final Prayer, a name that felt nigh sacrilegious to her ears. The goddess of truth and justice being treated as a last ditch effort to turn around a person’s sour luck seemed fitting for a place like Ul’dah, where their prayers went instead to the twin gods or the Spinner. To her though this should be a place where all those who truly seek to better themselves should start, a place where adherents and priests would go to spread the good word of the twelve. Instead what lay before her is a rock left along an abandoned path in Eastern Thanalan, the only attendees at the holy place being a small cloud of levinbugs that cast a pale yellow glow over the surrounding shrubs and stone.

“Grrreat Azeyma.. hearrr me. Yourrr daughterrr comes to you forrr peace of mind, forrr wisdom, forrr patience.” The janissary whispers as she lowers her hand and clasps her right hand over her heart. “I find myself drrrawn to make rrrash decisions these suns, chasing whim and base comforrrts. I do not know what I should do.”

No reply came from the stone as Ismat had expected, it would be a moment of true arrogance to expect her goddess to lend the place her voice. Especially when she offered nothing but her worries to the bringer of justice. She knelt before the great stone to brush clean a patch of the dry dirt with her gloved hands before digging a small trench to place a tiny brown seed that could easily be mistaken for yet another pebble amongst the weeds. “May this rrrose be the firrrst of many I plant herrre, and may it help drrraw otherrrs to yourrr path and lift the same veil that rrrests over my eyes.” She brushes a layer of dirt over the seed and then pours a measure of water from her canteen. “May yourrr eyes watch my path as they always have.”
