What makes me the angriest about all this shit is that like.

The only way to keep having these takes is to not interact with trans women in good faith. That's it. You are not engaging with trans women in good faith, you are not listening to them, and you certainly are not including a variety in your life.

More importantly, I think, is that people are refusing to sit in any amount of discomfort, too. And that's not how activism works. You have to be told when you are speaking from a place of privilege, you have to learn from that, you have to be willing to accept the discomfort of that. Because you have made others uncomfortable, you need to sit with your own feelings about that and decide to do better. Otherwise you're not a good ally, you're not a good friend.

The way trans women -ANY marginalized group- talk about these things makes you uncomfortable? Good. Examine that. WHY? Usually the root cause is about you. It is about you and your actions and your interpretation of how others speak. You either felt called out because you need to work on what that marginalized person was angry about, or it's a general response to the anger of others that you also will need to work on.

Now sometimes it might just be "I personally find this tone more abrasive" or "I overall don't agree with these takes" and that truly is it. That is okay. You don't have to personally like every member of every community. But just because you might not like the snark on how something was said does not make the person's thoughts about their existence any less fair and valid to have.

but stop acting like you know better than the people living what they have lived, who know their community's history, who know their community's activism and needs, who know what privilege over themselves looks like. It's fucking ridiculous. Some people are staying in willful ignorance and acting like it makes them some paragon of logic. Like a goddamn Men's Right's Bro circa 2013.

my trans gals :) Mari, Juliet, Stefs, Blackberry (left), Cricket, Velvet, Luna, Polilla, Leah, Babs, and (not pictured because their design is still a huge wip but I thought they'd be worth mentioning) the protagonist of Bored Game.

Mariposa (they/she) is an obsessive therapist and stalker of another trans woman, Rea. they have a child (Polilla), are very intelligent, and generally asocial. she's also half black.

Juliet (she/her) is a crazed serial killer cannibal. she's also a sugar baby. I'm thinking about making her cis because I feel like she might feed into some harmful stereotypes.

Stefs (she/they) is a thief satyr raised by goblins, not that bright, loves shiny things, loves their friends. will talk your ear off.

Blackberry (she/her) is a quiet, slightly grumpy goth who moves to a small town to try and escape her oppressive upbringing. she transitions midway through the story. she collects Tamagachis, pink things that remind her of her boyfriend, and is afraid of scary movies. she's some kind of mixed.

Cricket (she/they?) is one of the least developed. she's in a polycule, loves acrobatics and aerial silks, and is a clown.

Velvet (she/her) is a streamer! she's a total gamer girl, very good at what she does, and in a polycule. she's kind of needy in her relationships, but a good communicator and friend. loves listening almost as much as she loves talking.

Luna (she/her) is not super developed. she's in a big bug polycule, soft-spoken, bookish, and extremely compassionate to the point of screwing herself over. she's also African American.

Polilla (she/her) is a college student, Mariposa's daughter, and inherited her obsessiveness to some degree. she's a big geek, has a passion for photography, and is totally oblivious to her best friend's love for her.

Leah (she/her) is a teenaged ghost who ran away from home to get away from her abusive father. she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up getting killed after she saw another one of her killer's victims. she's very relaxed, the cool older sister type, smoked when she was alive, and has a hard time processing her own emotions and dealing with the emotions of others.

Babs (they/them) is one of sane universe Jack's exes, his ex fiancee's best friend, and has little patience for other people. they annoy them.

Bored Game's MC (they/she/it) is some kind of latine. they're the typical exhausted, bitter retail worker who used to have a vast, extensive creative project that they spent hours working on as a kid. she's got a good heart.

now, I have a question for my transfem friends: are we noticing any harmful patterns? I think I could use more trans women who have flat chests to balance out the fact that Juliet, Stefs, and Velvet breast boobily. I'd also say they tend to be on the shorter side (Mari, Juliet[?], Stefs, Cricket, and Babs). additionally, I think I could use more girls with boxier frames. the only ones that has that kind of build are Leah and (not pictured) the Bored Game MC, and most of them are pretty high fem.

What inspires your art style? I like the cartoon look of it bunches. Has me reminded of fairly odd parents

Well, it originally WAS the artist sleepykinq (TWISTED-DOCTOR) that got me started on using a more shapely style. But people kept saying that it reminded them of 2000s western cartoons so often that I kinda absorbed that into my mass of inspiration. Stuff like Dexter's Laboratory, Total Drama Island, Danny Phantom, so on.
