Help Mujtaba's family survive and evacuate
Current progress: $6,056/$18,527
This campaign was previously shared by @/sudan.updates on Instagram
Mujtaba and his family were recently able to get new passports in Port Sudan where they are staying. Now, the next step for them is raising enough money to afford plane tickets so they can evacuate together.
But before they can begin allocating funds for their plane tickets, they must first ensure their immediate needs are met. This has not been easy for them due to the recent decrease in donations. The family has barely received enough to afford their necessities amongst the soaring inflation.
If their campaign continues to stagnate, they will not be able to afford the resources they need survive or their evacuation costs. Please do not stand by and allow their campaign to stagnate further. Offer your support by sharing and donating to Mujtaba's family. You can help, even if all you can spare is $5.
Tagging for reach (sorry for any inconvenience)

Gwoka, from the French Caribbean Islands of Guadeloupe.
Enslaved Africans in Guadeloupe had used Gwoka to communicate through music, song, and dance. Nowadays, this cultural expression celebrates and continues the legacy and stories of the people of Guadeloupe.
In this video, the barefoot dancer—a Black woman with ankle-length locs and wearing a sleeveless, white top and red flared shorts with a pleated hem that ends a little above her knees—is communicating with the lead drummer to perform the notes based on each step she makes. The specific rhythm, which the other drummers are playing, is called Léwoz. There are seven rhythms in total that express different moods and tell various stories.

With the beginning of winter..
The obsession with fear has become great
Air breezes increase in frequency with the arrival of the evening hours, and with their arrival they move the tent fabrics and curtains left and right, and the sky is clear for one hour and cloudy for another hour, with a feeling of coldness sweeping through the bodies at night. These are signs that indicated the arrival of the awaited autumn season for winter lovers, indicating the end of the summer season with its scorching flame.
With the first light showers of rain falling on various areas in the Gaza Strip governorates on Sunday morning, seawater submerged hundreds of tents set up on the seashore.
Last night we lived through a difficult night in which there was a mixed feeling of fear, fear of the (Israeli) occupation and its targets, and fear of rain water!”

High prices of caddies Today we are witnessing a sudden and unprecedented rise in the prices of shaders in the markets, as their price has become 5 times what they were a month ago. In addition to that, we need wood to install the shader, and the price of wood has also increased.
Shader: It is what is placed over the tent to protect it from rainwater
The tents we live in are at risk of drowning in the coming days, especially since we are meters from the coast, in a low-lying area, and we have not been able to buy blinds.
I ask you to provide assistance to my family, which consists of 23 members, including 10 children, who are in desperate need of you and your support in light of the severe danger surrounding them.
Note:
Those who cannot donate through the options available on the site can donate via PayPal, our friend @malcriada , and he will donate directly on the site. Documenting the campaign through Cheb Hussein No. 219 in the file.

Hey y'all, now is a particularly good time to show solidarity with the Haitian refugee community of Ohio by donating to groups working on their behalf like The Haitian Bridge Alliance or Advocates for Basic Legal Equity.
The Republican goons are trying to stir up a racist hate mob against them based on extremely sinister lies. To hell with the sorts of people who want racist violence and for those of us nowhere near Ohio, this sort of donation is a decent way of telling both the Haitian community and their tormentors that we have the backs of refugees.

MISREPRESENTATION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN FOLKTALES: RECLAIMING SAMBO
European writers frequently misrepresented African American folktales. The Epic of Little Sambo from Guinea was bastardized into what you see below. The title/name Sambo also gained a negative connotations which it didn't have originally. Sambo is a Fula/Fulani name/word meaning uncle, and in the Hausa language in Northern Nigeria the name 'Sambo' was often given to a second son. During slavery many Africans in America would name their sons Sambo in Honor of their Uncles. European Slavers used the geographic terms Upper and Lower Guinea to describe the two west African coast lines. Guinea was a popular name used for enslaved Africans in America prior to and contemporary with Negro. The story of Sambo from (Upper) Guinea is a tale about a young African stolen from Africa and smuggled into america after 1807-8 (Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves). Sambo had the ability to communicate with animals he encountered around the wooded areas of the plantation in North Carolina. That's all I'll share.. READ THE STORY YOURSELF AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR CHILDREN

"The shift from the Afro-Caribbean zombie to the U.S. zombie is clear: in Caribbean folklore, people are scared of becoming zombies, whereas in U.S. narratives people are scared of zombies. This shift is significant because it maps the movement from the zombie as victim (Caribbean) to the zombie as an aggressive and terrifying monster who consumes human flesh (U.S.). In Haitian folklore, for instance, zombies do not physically threaten people; rather, the threat comes from the voduon practice whereby the sorcerer (master) subjugates the individual by robbing the victim of free will, language and cognition. The zombie is enslaved."

Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans
A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.
COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.
P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.
The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.
Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.
Marc Henry and his family have been dealing with food insecurity for months, and are trying to get funds so they can eat, as well as supplies like livestock and fishing equipment so they can sustain themselves even after the fundraiser is done. They're close to their goal.
An elderly couple's home was damaged multiple times over the last few years and they are trying to raise funds to finish construction. They are also very close to their goal.
A fundraiser for children in Jacmel to provide food, water, and clothes.
A fund for several families to secure plane tickets out of the country
OTRAH is an organization that helps trans Haitians and wants to expand their services to combat HIV. They don't have a gofundme, instead donations are discussed over email.
There is also this thread of Haitian gofundmes which updates fairly regularly
This document explaining the leadup to where we are now also names some organizations that could use financial support
