One of the best things the ninja could do for that genuinely would be letting him go. As in. Once he gets his leg cured, if he wants to leave, he should be allowed to have that choice. Even as much as the ninja would want him to stay, he’s his own person memory or no memory and his autonomy shouldn’t be determined souly on his past and the lack of memory of it. We don’t know if the ninja would let him do that with ease or not. But I wouldn’t doubt it if it was a struggle. And I would understand why they would be hesitant to let him go. Of course! But that’s the thing, they should learn and realize that they can’t just force this guy to stay with them just because he doesn’t have memory of being with them. His loss of memory doesn’t make him any less of an individual.
