We were greeted with the fun and loveable presence of young independent artist Garfield last week. Garfield is a talented RnB artist from Brooklyn who chose to switch musical paths from Gospel singer to soulful beat creator during his senior year of high school. Born in 1996, Garfield has already released an EP and is about to drop his debut album soon, citing older generational music as his main artistic influence. He works closely with his brother and a producer to create smooth and melodic songs that afford him an individualistic style, setting him apart from other young male RnB artists in the contemporary urban music scene of New York City.
