Okay so I had this AU idea for a long time and I've only had time to draw a bit of it until now. It's basically a murder mystery AU. I have no name for it right now so I'm just going to call it ministry mystery 👍

Summary: While the ongoing practice of the Ghost project continues, Cardinal Copia stumbles upon a battered skull. Strange things start to happen, and the cardinal is being haunted by a shadowy ghoul. He now finds himself as an amateur detective, accompanied by his ghouls, to solve the mystery of the ghoul skull and its odd death.

Glamoured/Human versions of the ghouls under the cut. They're technically humanized versions of my ghoul designs, but they do have similar features to the actual musicians. Hiding it just in case some people don't want to see it

They remained glamoured for the first half because they were instructed not to reveal their true selves to the cardinal, but as the investigation goes on and more truths are uncovered, they slowly drop it.

I want to develop this more but for now, they're just going to be out of context sketches with vague hints of plot.

papa emeritus -i (aka my papa oc)

first actual artwork of my papa oc emeritus -i (also known as genesi)! i've been cooking him up for a while but didn't have any actual artwork of him until recently😼i've also been working on designing his ghouls so that artwork may be posted in the near future..

his papacy takes place in the early 70s right after the events seen in the Kiss The Go-Goat/Mary On A Cross music video. after sister imperator leaves nihil, nihil becomes depressed and is temporarily unable to perform his duties as papa. enter genesi- he's nihil's cousin so he technically isn't a part of the main bloodline but they need a stand-in and don't have anyone else to promote (i wrote this before the recent lore change in the comics where i think nihil is actually primo/secondo/terzo's brother now instead of their father?? he's still their father in my heart though LMAO also im acting like its the case for the sake of his story. either that or primo/secondo/terzo were too young or not born yet to have taken the position at the time.)

anyways, genesi was just a priest in the ministry before his papacy. he's older than nihil (in his 40s compared to nihil who was in his 20/30s then). he only went on one tour cycle but nihil was ready to return to his position only a few months later. as soon as this happened, genesi was killed-- there were other priests in the ministry and genesi was only ever meant to be a placeholder. rather than explaining to the public what happened, genesi's death was framed as an accident. genesi was never considered professional enough by the clergy anyways because he was essentially not a part of the bloodline and therefore unprepared to handle the responsibilities and fame thrown onto him. they preferred to discard him entirely and bury the fact that nihil had stepped down instead of explaining anything to the people who had become genesi's fans.

doodled attempts at ghoul designs !! i thought it would be cool if they looked super creepy and i did these two since i knew what i wanted to do immediately

it ended up being a coincidence that i did swiss and sunshine (both multi ghouls) and that they were shadow and light LMAO

i may experiment with this idea and do other ghouls in the future. ive got some ideas .. maybe i end up doing proper artwork of them too 😼

Also. Kendrick opened with an unapologetically loud performance focused on Black America with a ton of political messaging. And the women sang “someone better squabble” in almost a mocking tone?? Because so many white Americans only know Kendrick from the Drake beef, and they’re there to see two black men fight, not a celebration of Black Culture.

The american flag literally dissolved into depictions of violence and shooting. And then, once the performers were united in sync again, the audience flashed “WARNING, WRONG WAY”

That has so many meanings, both in the context of the performance being about politics and the path America as a whole is going down—the wrong way.

But also in that specific moment, when black men were working together as a whole, America would rather see them fighting. After that section is over, Uncle Sam mocks Kendrick.

Once the performance turns into a pop song Uncle Sam says, “yeah, that’s what I’m talking about! That’s what America wants—nice and calm! You’re almost there. Don’t mess this-“ and he is cut off by Not Like Us starting. White America is content to watch Black artists as long as the art is palatable to them, but Kendrick disrupted that with the Drake beef, and white America watched because it glorifies violence between black men.

But Kendrick emphasizes that this is not what this performance is about. When asked if he’s really about to do this, he says “It’s a cultural divide, Imma get it on the floor.” And “40 acres and a mule, this is bigger than the music.” He is doing this for Black America. Not Like Us has brought folks together when America has tried its hardest to divide and conquer. Hell, Kendrick had Crips and Bloods dancing on stage together at a concert. He’s managed to work through centuries of oppression and trauma to bring Black America together in this moment. This is bigger than the music.

And he brings it back to politics with “yeah, they tried to rig the game, but you can’t fake influence.” There’s a reason he said that with the president in the audience. Kendrick had the biggest stage in the world and he used it to say “They Not Like Us” with the president, a known child predator, in the audience. And the rest of the crowd was screaming the lyrics along with Kendrick.
