To be honest, it's as simple as that. The modifications Lucretia did to me made me incredibly powerful, but seriously limited my energy... It's not often I find the will to defy her, but this was important.

To be perfectly honest, one day I hope for Letty to assume total control. Maybe do some good, fix some of the wrongs...

[Lucy is currently unconscious from the strain of keeping Letty and Genie at bay.]

Letty was swapped to home-schooling and at home care. She fought hard with the help of some expensive treatments for a good long while... Two years...

But, after those two years... One night, Lucy overheard her parents talking. She heard her father decide that the treatments were too expensive, that they didn't have enough money. Decide that Lucy alone was all they needed to inherit from them...

She was devastated, but she would never be able to sway them. Sure enough, just after making it to eleven years old, Letitia Duchess Minsk passed away... And the leftover psychic energy rushed back into Lucy's head, empowering only the traits that were hers, her intelligence and memory. The emotions and empathy of the twins had died with poor Letty...

The mental strain affected her recent memory, the last thing she could remember feeling emotional about was that they didn't have enough money.

She latched on to that.

There are some gory details in the intervening years, but I'll spare them. I'll just say that by the time she turned nineteen, both her parents were dead and she had started attempting to merge Genie with herself, fuelled by the unconscious desire to be closer to Letty...

She became the Werepersian then. And the addition of Genie's mind into the mix awakened an echo of Letty inside Lucy's mind. Whenever she wins some control Letty causes Lucy to feel. Considering some of the horrible things she's done, Lucy does not enjoy this, so she's constantly fighting for control...

Now that you understand the whole picture, I have only a few statements left:
