TMA x Epic - Interlude

Lore dump after the cut:

So... this didn't happen in Epic, did it? I'm taking a bit of creative liberty here. You know how in the Odyssey Odysseus and his crew must first perform a ritual to summon the prophet? And how that ritual involves sacrificing a life? It's a ram in the original story, but it felt right for Jon to offer himself up instead. He's practically doing just that throughout season 4 of TMA. So here he's trading his life for a chance to speak to Tiresias, in the hopes that at least his crew will make it home. Which isn’t in line with Odysseus' character, but definitely something Jon would do. So here we are.

Though of course he's not gonna stay dead for long. Give him two songs and he'll be up and running again.

(In other words, I'm about to restage MAG 121 as soon as Monster comes around. Yes he'll have Eye powers in Act 2.)

TMA x Epic - Done For

(but wait, there's more!)

Annabelle Cane, everybody! The OG Puppeteer! I took the easy way out with the backgrounds on these, but that's the price we pay for a double feature.

Their fight in this AU consists of Annabelle trying to trap Jon in her web and him trying to get to her in the center of it. Jon wins thanks to Michael giving him access to his portals for the duration of the encounter (instead of giving him the moly).

Have you nailed down the picks for God Games yet? (I’ll put my predictions based on what I know now below)

Apollo — Easily Nikola. She has the connection to song and performance, but the sirens could also easily be fellow Circus members.

Hephaestus — Probably a Hunt avatar? He’s mad that Odysseus betrayed group, and the Hunt can be associated with packs. I’d probably go with Julia and Trevor sharing the lines, but only because I don’t have any better ideas.

Aphrodite — She’s mad about Odysseus’ mother dying due to his actions, so maybe Oliver? This is the one I’m least sure about tbh. :/

Ares — I’m pretty sure if you look up the Slaughter, it just has a picture of Ares next to it. I’d say Melanie in her ghost bullet days.

Hera — Honestly, Hera is very Heleny to me. Fun and high-energy but very clearly dangerous and angry in a way you wont ever fully understand. (She also prioritizes loyalty, which could be seen as a remnant of Michael’s anger at Gertrude or Helen’s bitterness about being failed by Jon.)

Zeus — The big guy pulling the strings? That’s Annabelle. It was never not Annabelle.

I love all these ideas, it makes me giddy to know people like my silly little crossover AU enough to think of their own character matches!

Truthfully, God Games is still far enough in the future that I haven't gone into the specifics of it yet. I know the gist of it (Athena and Zeus) and I know what the outcome will look like for this AU (because yes, I have a couple surprises planned), but the different gods I haven't pondered on too deeply so far. They may end up being the fear entities themselves tbh, the same way my version of Zeus is just the Ceaseless Watcher. Which collides a little with Elias, Michael and Simon being stand-ins for other god characters, but since we never see them interact in Epic, I'm confident in letting that little worldbuilding hole stand as it is.

All that being said, I love hearing people's ideas for upcoming characters! 👀 Rest assured, I already have a list of who all the major characters are going to be (with one notable exception... but we'll get to that), but that only makes me more excited about how different and creative all your ideas have been so far! Keep 'em coming <3
