What I'd like to know is how or why Adora would have a memory of that? Glancing at the wiki about the original She-Ra it mentions that Hordak planned to kidnap Adora and Adam from Eternia, but only managed to nab Adora. We know from Light Spinner that this doesn't happen in SPOP 2018. Honestly, I can't help but now wonder if there isn't some Superman shit going on here. Adora's parents had to put Adora on a ship because their planet was going to be destroyed, bla bla bla, the ship crashes in the Wasteland where the Horde finds it.

So something I noticed while rewatching some of the s1 spop episodes. When Adora starts having those weird flashbacks one of them looks like a ship or something crashing in the Wastelands.

Yeah, likely the Horde since the Wasteland is apparently where Scorpia’s kingdom is and she said that the Horde crashlanded there.

My only question is, how? How did they even get onto Etheria if it’s trapped in another dimension.

Okay, I was rewatching the episode Light Spinner again and it seems that at least in Mystacore most of the sorcerers there are not human. One could argue that Micah and his sister Castaspella are among the few humans.

A good chunk of the residents seem to be some type of goat-people (satyrs perhaps?)

We’ve got Master Whatshisface (I can’t remember his name) who has pointy ears and goat horns.

Then we’ve got the girl on the far left with the goat ears and the goat horns.

So it seems that the council’s hesitation at allowing Light Spinner in the group isn’t just because she’s non-human or hybrid, but it could be because of the type of non-human or hybrid she is.

There’s only one other character on the show that resembles Light Spinner, and that’s Queen Angella

Who also has pointed ears, albeit they’re smaller than LS’s. She also has an unnatural skin tone, except her’s is more of a pinkish lilac color as opposed to LS’s blue/grey/greenish hue.

If indeed these two do sort of fall along the same species, it’s possible that Light Spinner/Shadow Weaver is either some type of demonic species, or a demon hybrid of sorts. If not that, then another possibility is some sort of serpentine species.

Whichever the case, whatever species Light Spinner is, it’s one that the council didn’t trust.

She-Ra Theory: Shadow Weaver the hybrid

K so I mentioned this idea in passing in my fic but I want to go into this a little deeper and in meta format. I think this theory ties together a lot of loose ends regarding Shadow Weaver’s design and characterization. Apologies if this is something the fandom is already in agreement on, but I’ve never seen any discussion about it.

So, has anyone else noticed how Shadow Weaver’s ears are kind of a funny shape? They look passably like human ears but they’re extra pointy and they angle backwards more. She’s also very tall, even when she’s not floating above the ground, and her skin is an odd hue (blue/gray most of the time, greenish in parts of Light Spinner). All that, combined with how she has always covered her face, seems to suggest that she may not be fully human.

Because, really, what is she hiding? A snout of some kind, perhaps? Even when Adora and Catra saw her face in 1x11, they didn’t see her nose/mouth area.

While there are plenty of species represented in the Horde, there’s more humans than anything else. Most of the princesses are human(ish) as well - the notable exception being Scorpia, who felt scorned by the others. While the series has never more than hinted at this, it’s possible that there’s a bit of human supremacy simmering on Etheria. And if Shadow Weaver is mostly human but with a few characteristics that advertise her other species, it makes sense she may want to hide them. To pass as human to others, yes, but also to hide the truth from herself in a way, if it’s something she feels shame or insecurity over. This would also add another layer to her dislike of Catra, if she herself is a self-loathing hybrid. Another way that Catra reminds her of herself, and not in a good way.

All in all, my money’s on us learning this twist at some point down the line, if that mask ever comes off again.
