So after finishing Lost for the first time I would really love to know… what more did people want when it comes to questions being answered and mysteries being solved?

Like, maybe it’s because I went in with rock bottom expectations when it came to that aspect of the show and I get that my experience of watching every episode, one after another, over the course of a month would be different than the experience of someone watching an episode a week over the course of 6 years, but even the finale season had pretty solid answers. There were two occasions where Jacob just sat down and explained things - first with what the Island was for and then with why the main characters were brought to the Island in the first place. Jack’s dad explained the whole moral of the story in the last episode. When Richard started going around saying they’d all been dead the whole time we were very clearly told that, while it was understandable he’d come to that conclusion, that wasn’t what was going on there.

I’m not saying that there aren’t issues with the writing (there are), but making people ask questions and not giving answers is not one of them. I know everything I could possibly want to know and more about both the Dharma Initiative and the Island. Whether people got the answers they wanted or not, or if they found them personally satisfying, what was going on was pretty clearly explained.

Like guys I hate to break it to you but we’re not getting a clone rebellion series.

I’ve seen people pointing out the loose ends in Bad Batch as the reason that this series must be happening at some point but to me it’s very obvious that these loose ends are because the writers had more planned for Bad Batch. Then they found out it would be ending earlier than expected and had to reroute, change some storylines and wrap things up as best as possible. Michelle Ang (Omega’s voice actress) said that Omega’s ending in the show was different to the ending that was originally pitched for her and Omega’s story was meant to have wider reaching implications for the rest of the galaxy.

I’m 99% sure that if Bad Batch had gotten more seasons we would’ve seen more of the clone rebellion, Omega’s potential as a force user and the batch becoming more involved in the Rebellion. But this didn’t happen because although the clones have an incredibly passionate fandom, it’s still a pretty niche one. I just don’t think they’re enough of a draw to get ANOTHER full series based on their lives. Maybe we’ll get a Tales of the Clones at some point but I think that’s the best we can hope for.
