So… Originally I reblogged with my writing as a caption to the original post. Being new to Tumblr, I wasn’t aware that it wouldn’t allow me to track any analytics of my own, because of the formatting. At first I was okay with that because I don’t mind allowing my writing to help spread the artwork of others. However, after some consideration over the past few hours, I’ve come to decide that I’d like to keep my writing trackable to better understand my audience as it grows. Sometimes, angels don’t get asked if they’d like to be angels. Sometimes they are simply made, or picked out of a selection. No one asks them if they’d like the job, they are simply given instructions and sent on their way. There isn’t even any training. They are simply dropped off and expected to fend for themselves. ‘Divine Discovery’ it’s called. Or at least, that’s loosely how it translates. Skills, powers, whatever is given, is set to manifest when it is needed and the angel in expected to just roll with it. To remember how to do it again for the next time.

It’s easier for some than others.

And what happens when an angel does not cope well with their new role before enough time has passed for them to obtain acceptance? They stress about it. They fret, they worry, they try to do their best while still carrying out their job. Angels, believe it or not, can be some of the most stressed out creatures you will ever come across. And we are very good at putting on a brave face and acting like everything is fine.

Some have been known to hide in mortal planes, where they bide their time and come to terms with their new role. Others do their best to hide among the clouds in the Divine, or under shadows scattered through the Foloi Forest. It’s hard to find an angel hiding in Foloi, because of all the centaurs and dryads hanging around. Their magics mask the essence of the angels. Sometimes the centaurs are able to help but even they have a hard time shaking the angels out of the shadows.
