Are they not tired of debating the same nonsense? Is this the only story they could come up with from the Emmy nominations? I am now letting them know my thoughts on their unnecessary think pieces. More of us in this fandom need to do the same.
My comment:
This debate is tired. The Television Academy makes the rules and allows The Bear to be submitted in the comedy category. Let's be real, Hacks is also a dramedy that the Academy allows in the comedy category. It's not a comedy just because it centers on the professional relationship between a young comedy writer and a legendary stand-up comedian. So, where is their discourse?
Vulture recently published an article, "Inside the Whisper Campaign to Unseat The Bear As the Emmys’ Best Comedy," in which Emmy voters spoke anonymously about how they despise The Bear and their plan to make sure it never wins again in the comedy category. You would think a better use of their time would be to appeal to the Television Academy to include a dramedy category. In recent years, these television shows were dramedies. Still, they were in the comedy category, and they did not receive the venom and think pieces from the media and bloggers like The Bear: Barry, The Flight Attendant, Dead To Me, The Kominsky Method, Orange Is The New Black, Cobra Kai, and Atlanta.
So, is it pure envy of the exceptional creativity of Chris Storer, the talent of the cast and crew, and their number of awards that is the real reason for this discourse?  Drama? Comedy? Dramedy? Who cares? I think we should celebrate it all and then throw some awards into whatever boxes make sense at the moment.

Ayo Edebiri Makes Emmy History
Leave it to Variety to get it wrong. They did not even have Ayo on their nomination predictions list.
Here is the correct information thanks to Film Updates, who is a huge supporter of Ayo and everything The Bear.

The Television Academy’s eligibility rules state that shows in contention for the 2025 Emmys must have aired between June 1, 2024-May 31, 2025.
Consider this: premiering a new season of a show during the voting window is an effective way of keeping a show fresh in everyone’s mind. And this happened last year with The Bear too, when it premiered its Season 3 right when Season 2 was in Emmy contention. So when voting was happening, viewers had just seen a deeply emotional Season 3 episode centered around Liza Colón-Zayas’s character, Tina. Colón-Zayas won Outstanding Supporting Actress, even though it was the previous season that was in contention — an example of a new season helping to highlight talent and remind voters.
