Ben: Yeah, okay. Guess there's a reason guys don't talk about this stuff. Unless you... want to talk about this stuff?

Kevin: *sighs* Okay. I like the Kevin that Gwen sees when she looks at me. And I like that you gave me another chance, even after I messed up all those other ones. I guess I'm saying I owe you guys for changing my life.

Thank god for the Clip Studio Paint 3D feature. Otherwise I would have given up on this line-up a while ago. Is this perfect? Nah, but it gets the job done (The job being me trying to figure out what this kid looks like throughout the fic.).

Might do Gwen next if I find the motivation. She doesn't have as much design progression compared to Ben, so it might be easier.

New Ben 10 AU Dropped:

POV: Your cousin got the cool alien-transformation watch instead of you so you gotta clock in and practice magic. (and slowly destroy your body in the process)

So yeah this is the AU that dragged me into this fandom in the first place. Bezelverse is your typical Gwen 10 AU but we focus on Ben and put him through situations because I said so.

I don't want to spoil any plot-twists for the fanfic at the moment so I'll mostly just discuss the basics of what happens in this AU (WARNING FOR MASSIVE INFODUMP):

So in Bezelverse, Ben is far more of an underdog. He doesn't have friends in this universe and his parents are extremely neglectful, so he's kind of a mess and is starving for validation. Gwen is considered "the perfect gifted child" of the Tennyson family so Ben has actual genuine animosity towards her. (which Gwen doesn't reciprocate. She genuinely doesn't understand that Ben HATES her.) Once Gwen gets the Omnitrix, Ben's jealousy only worsens. He gets reckless and throws himself into fights to try to prove himself to his grandpa, but that doesn't get him very far until Charm-caster is encountered far earlier than normal and Ben obtains the spellbook. Ben tries to use it, but finds out that because he doesn't produce a lot of mana, the spells absorb his life-force instead, which physically hurts him (Magic works a bit differently in this universe. It's far less accessible.) Ben doesn't use the spellbook again until he grabs the Bezel charm of reincarnation somehow and realizes he can cheat the system by using the charm to keep himself alive while practicing magic. Abusing magic in this way DOES force his body to adapt and gradually produce more mana, but this also has negative side effects such as: bleeding boiling blood through the facial orifices, whitening of hair, tinnitus, gradual blindness, and muscle atrophy. By the time Ben is able to use highly advanced magic, his hair has gone completely white, he's gone blind, and he requires mobility aids to maneuver. Ben goes through a significant arc accepting these changes, and eventually in a few years after some inter-dimensional shenaniganry, he actually learns to find self-confidence and validation within himself! AND he gets better coping mechanisms!

There's other stuff about this AU: There's the immense pressure Gwen is under (She has to be the perfect straight-A daughter AND the savior of the Earth.) and how she handles her very complicated familial relationship with Ben. I more deeply explore and rework Kevin's backstory and origins (The Osmosian lore has been reworked, which completely alters aspects of the whole Rooters plotline from Omniverse). Bevin is a thing that sure does happen (it's a roller-coaster to witness). and the Tennyson family as a whole is a bit more dysfunctional and is hiding a VERY big secret from Gwen and Ben that would fundamentally change their relationship...It's even more secret than the whole Plumber biz.

...So yeah. This is my stupid lil AU that I feverishly worked out. Gonna be slowly writing chapter after chapter (hopefully). Here's some stupid doodles to send ya off!

Welp. Since I've written fanfic for Ben 10 now, I've decided to make this little side-blog to post and reblog about Ben 10 stuff. Keep things nice and clean from my other blog for a different cartoon I'm obsessed with.

Feel free to call me Cell over here. I'm about 22 years old and use any pronouns, and I'm in a polyamorous relationship with a few members of a system.
