I have had a vision

Emmrich while Rook is trapped in the Fade

Seems to be keeping it together as far as the team can tell

He's obviously tired and working every hour he can to get them back

Lucanis is a little concerned at how much coffee he's suddenly drinking but glass houses

And he is looking a little more rumpled than usual, possibly scruffy? No surely not

I put this in the 1st week, Rook is missing about day 4 or 5 but could go to 6 or 7 depends on what else he's been doing to stay awake

The team has convened in the dinning room to discuss progress, mostly because Lucanis insists everyone come and eat something, especially Emmrich as he's noticed how much of the vegetarian offerings is left at the end of meals (could be even more heart-wrenching if Rook is also a vegetarian, and he keeps making enough for two)

Anyway everyone is sitting around the dinning table, the dishes haven't been cleared beyond pushing them out of the way for space for them to all compare notes

Except Emmrich who is leaning against the fireplace with a glass of something that Spite says smells like Trees. Smoke. And Regrets!

But it's alcoholic which is weird for Mr Emmrich "never more than a glass of wine occasionally at dinner" Volkarin, and it's not the first glass or even the second, but again everyone is a little stressed so no one is going to judge the man for it

Conversation is happening, and it's all nope, nothing, no clue, not heard back etc

Depressing as fuck

Emmrich has been absolutely silent the entire conversation

Not a word

Someone (depends on certain choices, but my three options are Bellara, Harding or Neve) asks Emmrich if they've got anything to add/are they OK/they've been awfully silent for the Fade expert depends on the level of sass/care/snark you want to go for

For a beat, Emmrich doesn't move or react, and they think he hasn't heard them, so they start to try again

They don't get beyond his name, "Emmrich—"

When he moves like a snake uncoiling to strike, whips his arm back and throws his glass into the fireplace with a crashing of glass, a whoosh of flame and everyone else flinching/bolting up out their seats as he just screams "FUCK!!!"

There's dead silence as everyone holds their breaths

Emmrich moves first

He straightens up, tugs his rumpled waistcoat down, takes two steps and then passes out

Do with it what you will, but I needed to get it out in the world
