Art Black Out April 15th

The idea is that on April 15th - World Art Day - artists only post black images to draw awareness to something people take as given: a steady stream of visual content on their dashes. 

We are drawing attention to the ongoing issue of artists being disrespected and their art being stolen or reposted. Let’s make people aware of what the Internet would look like if artists stopped making art because they get discouraged or too scared to post for fear of having their work stolen. 

For one day, let’s flood dashes everywhere with gaping black spaces where art is supposed to be. 

HOW TO JOIN:

On April 15th post completely black images everywhere, on whichever platform it pleases you, and tag them with #artblackout.

Inform yourself on the issue of art theft, reposting and giving credit and spread the word!

That the show needed more Astronerd!Danny, like he recognises spots in the sky as planets, he knows Constellations he even knows the lore. Like he'd look up in the middle of the fight and be like

Danny: "Awe, look at that, I can see Mars, you know what that means?"

Ghost pausing mid swing to wonder what seeing mars means: "good fortune?"

Danny punches them out: "no it means the god of war is watching, and I'm here to impress."

Danny still has memories of two years ago when he was fresh out of the closet and surrounded by reckless people who are also fresh out of the closet, but those years are long behind him, and those reckless people are long gone too.

Don’t take chances: Ghost Forms

Ghosts have a few different forms they may take, and different forms may allow them to use more or less of their powers.

Natural (true self)

This is the form you see most of the ghosts in Danny Phantom take! It embodies who they really are and who they were before death. It may include some aspects of how they died, but not always. (Danny’s ghost form is true self, it’s biologically male!) The one thing that can’t change about this form is the bright green eye color.

Corpse 

you never see this form in Danny Phantom, as this is a form that resembles what a ghost looked like when they died. For some, it’s barely a change from their natural form, but for others, it’s a huge contrast! Unfortunately, due to laws set in place centuries before, the ghost zone auto-bans any ghost who utilizes their corpse form. If they’re in the ghost zone, they will get dropped out very suddenly, and then won’t be able to enter. Which is rather fortunate for Danny and crew, as corpse forms allow ghosts to use their power to its fullest extent.

Unnatural (false self)

Some ghosts (not many, but some) choose to appear how they did in life. Poltergeists (who have the ability to become human-ish for a short period of time) have to take this form to be human-ish. However, in this form they can only use basic ghost powers and not their custom ones. (Funny how Ember only used variations of a ghostly wail and other basic ghost powers, hm?)

Meet Chance the Poltergeist!

Danny and friends have noticed a new ghost hanging around town, one the ghosts only call poltergeist, but they're impossible to catch, and even worse, has been helping Danny catch the other ghosts.

Meet Madeline Archive! She's an old friend of Danny, Sam, and Tucker's, and a year older than them. But she's been out of school for a while now, and apparently has been hearing voices...

Don’t Take Chances: The Lore

(modified ghost lore from various sources)

Wisp: the weakest of ghosts, died a painless death, most likely expected but not always (Skulker, Lunch Lady, Box Ghost) not aware of how they died or how to attain peace, and not usually worried about it

Ghast: range in power, fragments of a soul that either only partially moved on or split apart after death. (Spektra, Johnny13) Their goal is to become whole again, but they often are unaware that this requires finding all the pieces of their soul

Haunter: specifically a ghost whose purpose requires the death of a human. They may not be aware of which human or that someone has to die. Large range in power. (No examples)

Phantom: extremely powerful. Often died untimely deaths in extreme physical or emotional turmoil. (Captain Kid) Aware of what caused their death, but unsure of how to attain peace. May believe that they need revenge on something to move on, and therefore become very malevolent

Pariah: A little stronger than a Phantom. Untimely death in extreme physical or emotional pain, oftentimes murdered by a large group of people. Aware of how they died, perhaps aware of how to attain peace. (Walker)

Poltergeist: The most powerful of any ghost. Untimely death in agonizing pain, emotional and physical. Aware of how they died and how to attain peace, but may accidentally mutate it into something worse. (Ember, Chance)

Hello! I'm Al Skyll, writer and artist, and Danny Phantom fan!

Im not doing any big fics or anything but may occasionally post art or writings about my DP OCs Chance the Poltergeist and Madeline Archive, in which Trans!Danny is a thing and there may be crossovers from other fanwriters (namely @chris-pixie )

I will also be reblogging fanart and fanfics and theories and whatever I find and like, so with time I will find a tag to separate my stuff from that.

I use he/him, Chance uses he/her, and Madeline uses she/her. As for anything else, it will be revealed in writings and art. 😉 (And ignore the awful Chance drawing it was done last summer)
