Badass History Ladies - Hypatia of Alexandria
“Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all.”
Said to have been the last librarian of the Library of Alexandria, Hypatia is the first recorded female mathematician. She edited works of science and math, and invented the hydrometer (a device which helps measure the gravity and density of liquids).
There are two accounts of her death. The first, and most widely accepted, was written soon after her dead in 415 CE. According to the historian, Hypatia was murdered by a Christian mob for her political influence and heresy.

Korea Adventures - Korean Tea Shops (오설록 - Osulluk)
🌸 I recently returned from a trip to Korea for 추석 and I have cemented my favourite eateries/cafes! These may already be well known but I love them 🌸 [Part 1]
First place: 오설록 (Osulluk)

isn't this cute? they are tea bag shaped lights guys!
The first level was a store, where I've previously bought a tea set for my father (which, may I mention, the packaging for is extremely beautiful).
I finally went to the cafe on the upper level...

Verdict: the tea (brown lid) had more flavour than the tangerine-green tea lovechild. Not to say that the other drink wasn't flavoured enough, but moreso that the tea had a depth of flavour that sweet (possibly artificially flavoured) drinks can't master. Although, I am the type to prefer frozen fruits and fruit flavoured sorbet over icecream, so that may be a (huge) factor in my judgement. The orange/tangerine/manderine and green tea drink was a beautiful mixture of tangy flavour and a mild bitterness that I wish I had ordered for myself. I throw up at the taste of milk so I don't usually have cafe desserts and therefore have no bloody idea what this thing was, but it was similar to a macaron and I loved the chewiness of the "biscuit".
I had no plans to post anything about this so I didn't bother to remember what I ordered, but it is good tea and I didn't post it on instagram so I figured I should tell someone about it.
PS: I am not a blogger nor am I great at English, so I'm sorry for this very amateur review (??) ~

Dear teen girls,
Stop abusing your boyfriends and yes what you are doing is abuse.
Stop:
Yelling at him in front of his friends
Hitting or slapping him when he does or says something you don’t like
Telling him he doesn’t have a choice when it comes to decisions that involve both of you
Telling him he can’t hang out with friends because you don’t like him
Telling him to not talk to other girls even if they are his friend
Forcing him to spend every moment with you
Belittling him and pointing out all his flaws
Calling him stupid or making fun of him for making a mistake
Threatening to break up with him if he doesn’t do what you want
Being emotionally manipulative and crying until he does what you want
Accusing him of cheating every time he’s not with you
Blow up is phone if he doesn’t text you every five minutes
Telling him you are the must thing that has ever happened to him and no one else will love
Physically attacking him when ever you are mad
Forcing him to have sex despite that fact that he said he didn’t want to
Invading his privacy by going through his phone
Getting mad at him for changing his password and demanding he tell you what it is
If a guy did any of these things to a girl it would be considered abuse but since its the other way around its considered normal. Throughout High school I saw many girl treating their boyfriends like shit. Sometime even physically abusing them in the hallways and no one trying to stop it because its a girl attacking a boy.
Boys: If your girlfriend does anything on this list leave her. It is abuse and you deserve better.
Girls: if you find your self doing anything on this list to your boyfriend you need to knock it off because you are being abusive.

Updateeeeee
I've tried to do the 100 day challenge twice and fallen short. It's not that I don't study every day, but I usually find myself forgetting to post everyday/not having anything useful or interesting to post about. For me, I do memrise (the app) everyday, I often read the news and webtoons, I text people in Korean (every day) and I usually talk a bit every day. I don't necessarily study grammar every day since I'm not always in the same place (I may go to a friend's house, go to my boyfriend's house, my house or I may stay at uni). Either way, my books aren't always with me. I don't really see this as a problem for my learning, since my main goal is to immerse myself in Korean and improve as naturally as possible, not necessarily to force myself to learn things I know that I won't remember.
Since this challenge was moreso a way for me to track my Korean learning journey than to make myself study, I've changed my learning style and I think I'll change my posting style. I've begun writing what I want to get done for that week, and then writing what I've done to complete those tasks for each day. To make things easier for myself, I've decided to post on tumblr every week with an update on my studies and progress. :)
Not many people follow me or read my posts, but if you come across this I hope you realise that you can still be motivated to learn a language, and you can still reach goals, even if you don't force yourself to do 10 things per day (I found that just reading something for fun, using memrise, and speaking in the target language on the phone for 30 minutes was easy enough and helpful enough for that day)
💙💙

While I was speaking I realised that my pronunciation was a lot better, and when I recorded it I was so impressed with my intonation. I started reading Noblesse too, and while I was reading webtoons, I realised how many more words I could understand :D
Practice IS worth it, and if you work hard you'll reap the benefits! I have no specific stuff I wanted to upload, but I've also started forcing myself to write a short summary of the day/ a sentence or two about my feelings, in Korean every day. So far it's been helpful since I don't always text people in Korean nowadays. :)

join me in shaming myself?
so whilst I did continue studying, I did slack off (I'm tempted to blame uni, but I'll be honest and admit that it was my fault for not managing my time). Yesterday I restarted full time every day Korean study by going through the first Talk To Me In Korean 이야기 episodes called '노약자석'. I studied that by going through the PDF first and highlighting any words that I didn't know or phrases I was confused by. After finishing that and translating (and just making sure I understood it all by reading), I listened to it while reading through the PDF. I found that this was very helpful in establishing a solid understanding of the vocab and allowed me to easily listen and understand (so it was less of a chore to listen to it). I went through level 7 of the intermediate vocab list and I studied ~ㄹ 만하다, which I must admit, I still haven't fully grasped. I need to practice this more on the phone.

[6/100] Korean Study
Yesterday was just a test prep day, one of my classes is about translating so I’ve been going through the past exams with a dictionary.... but, on another note, there was a Korean art exhibition in the library!

[5/100] Korean Study

1. went on a much needed coffee date with my boyfriend, had a conversation about feminism in Korean (he was mainly talking, but I understood it)
2. started listening to 팟빵, I really rEAlly like listening to this, I found a cool gaming podcast to listen to and the girls' voices are clear and easy to understand!

3. Finally started studying level 7 of Talk to Me in Korean, did practice and got corrections :D
