There came a chuckle from the grandmother. A bright smile being placed upon her wrinkled face, seemingly able to light up the world. It isn't a mystery of where Link had gotten his bright spirits and where he inherited his smile. "Yes, he is quite a bright child. But my dear people always judge books by their covers. In this family we never do that." With what grandmother said, Link gave a hard nod with a quite serious face placed upon him. ~Yup, never judged one book by the cover. Got to leaf through the pages 'n stuff to get to the good parts!~ Came a fairly absent minded thought.

”Yes, ma’m,” utterance with a tone of the utmost enthusiastic reply she could give—there she found herself slipping into that child she used to be,”He is really friendly and we have only just met. I don’t get someone such as himself often, being what I am wondering from home.”

Promised Grace
Dark twas the night. The sky engulfed in blackness only to be lit up by thousands upon thousands of small white dots within the sky. Of course, not all these stars were white. Some of these dots gave off a shade of red or blue. Some of these colored and uncolored dots gave small twinkles and even one shot through the sky like a silver gleaming sword slashing the abyss. The moon was not seen above in the sky, giving off no sort of light for the young hero to see. Instead held a lantern within his hand. The oil within the glass swishing back and forth steadily as steps were made forward into the forested area. Above the oiled area was a lit fire which made shadows distort and a bug or two flutter away to a safer leave away from such light. Even a moth came to swoop downward to try and to steal the light that Link held close to him. Yet another hand came and swatted lightly at it thus the hero moved onward.
Sword was not in hand, and grey eyes only looked onward where the light touched the darkened green plants. Perhaps Link had heard a few monsters rumble on by, however the night had made creature weary and groggy, wishing not to bother those walking upon the paths. Eventually, with a few movements with his free hand, our hero pushed away large green leaves that blocked his path to find a pond. A rest taken would be best to do. Taking hasty steps forward, Link came upon the pond's edge. It seemed not a fairy's pond, thus the child not bothered to make a noise to signal his presence to the fairy living upon the waters. Setting the lantern down near the water's edge, which made reflection of red upon the once black watered pond. There was a rustle of items being pushed away as hands dipped into a bag to grab for some sort of cup or bottle. When the hero was about to dip the bottle into the water, a menacing roar came from among the trees. Tis was far away, yet close enough to shroud Link in danger. In shock the boy dropped the bottle in the water, letting it float among the glassy-like surface. He turned around, a hint of fear covering his face.
A shuffle of leaves were made. Uneasily, Link reached up to grasp upon the handle of the Master Sword. When unsheathed a gleam of heavenly light shot through around the blade, giving it an ominous glow. Raising the Bastard Sword up, Link grabbed the hilt with another hand and raised it upward. Ready to defend himself against whatever monster (or possible Human) that came forth ahead.

Sea Awakened
The small back and forth creaking of the wooden boat made sound in the quiet sea. The waves washing upon the nearby island as Link sat down in the boat, sail down and neatly folded in a corner of the inners of the boat, and ate food. Pawprint Island was not so far away from Link's reaches as he could easily jump out and swim but a few feet toward the soft muddy ground. The child calmly rested, chin rested on his hand and mouth chewing the fish he caught and made to eat. The sea was so blue, so great, and so calm. Attention was drawn toward the Master Sword that laid so carelessly near one of the crates that crowded the boat.
Why me? Came a thought. Yes, that careless thought that always invaded his mind. Why was it that he was chosen, out of all the people, to take upon this quest to save the Great Sea, and in the long run, the world? The thought didn't keep him up at night, but it did run through his mind when he had gotten too bored. Eyes closed as he gave a sigh, teeth biting into the flesh of the fish and chewing once again. Attention was drawn back to the island. Before he could see anything else in that relative direction, he saw something back in the distance of the island. It was barely visible and eyes had to squint to get a better look at it. Upon looking ever so more closely, he saw a body laid idly on the island.
The waters licked at her feet and threatened to carry her off into the sea, where she would drown or be eaten by whatever monsters lurked the Great Sea. Without so much as bothering to pick up his Master Sword, Link dropped the fish he was eating and dived into the waters to swim to toward Pawprint Island. Of course, King of Red Lions was shocked at the sudden erupt acts, but it was soon that he noticed the sleeping girl in the distance. Upon reaching the island, Link hastily ran toward the girl, pulling her to the shore away from the waters that could ever so swoop her up and drag her off into the blue nothingness.

A flash of light passed by the Hero's eyes as he saw the Mothula impaled with a light spear. It was sent right through the brilliant neon moth, making it float and fall unto the ground. Slowly the wings were detached from the brilliant giant insect, and it still laid on it's back. If it were dead it would have disappeared into a black cloud, turning into nothing or leaving a treasure for anyone to take. As it laid, Link diverted his attention away from it, as it would eventually get up and walk around and bite at either of the two with it's large blackened pincers. Either Shadow could take care of the neon moth, or Link could send his Master Sword through it's head finishing it off. The hedgehog seemed quite capable of doing anything as Link had witnessed his powers.
For now, dealing with the Yellow ChuChu jellies was more of their problems. Pulsing sparks of electricity ran through the goo and blunt objects would not harm them. Something with a sharp edge had to deal with the dangerous beings. Taking another arrow from his quiver, he pulled the string back. Eyes closed, focusing on magic to turn the silver arrow into an icy one. A small exhale was released as the child opened his eyes and let go of the arrow.
A bright streak of blue flashed across the battlefield as a Yellow ChuChu jelly was hit with the arrow. Slowly it started to freeze, it's jelly turning into ice and becoming cold. A chill ran through the area and small snowflakes fell from where the arrow had been shot. Pose became slightly relaxed as he drew back another arrow to repeat the same step only with a fire arrow. He wished that he could warn Shadow of the ChuChu jelly's electrical properties, but words could not be formed.
When the creature revealed itself, it certainly was… odd looking. It had brilliant wings but a very eerie overall appearance— something out of a fairytale really with it’s natural decor. The aura coming from it was menacing Quickly options and tactics were running through Shadow’s mind. How much power should he put into this? Should he use his hands or his Chaos abilities? Ears flattened out of aggression, a low sort of snarl leaving him thereafter. Judging by the creature’s power… perhaps not much was needed.
But before the hedgehog decided to make a move, Link was already on the run to attack it. No, he did not stop him, instead he took the opportunity to see what Link did to see what the other creature had in store. What it’s abilities possibly were, and especially weaknesses. Though Shadow did find it a bit curious when the other resorted to a bow and arrow. Huh. Maybe that meant something.
Shadow himself would then resort to a long range-tactic. Raising a gloved hand he gathered energy in the space above it, a bright yellow glow appearing as the energy condensed into a single, solid form in the shape of a spear. It was an incredibly weak one, and with a flick of the wrist the black hedgehog threw it at the insect like being, the energy spear going at an incredibly quick speed. If it could dodge it, then it was perhaps worth putting actual effort into defeating it. Shadow was being rather confident and underestimating things at present.

The other that seemed so uncaring and quite blank in expression seemed to have shown care for the younger child. Thus, Link looked to the nobleman, and gave him a serious nod in understanding. To have a permanent bruise tainted on his skin would be unsettling as it would gain never ending pains. The Hero tried to be careful, as he trained everyday to get better in handling a sword that weighed 9 pounds with one hand. Although be the Master Sword a one handed sword, it was in a way a bastard sword (to Link at least); but the child always found himself wielding it with one hand, even if two hands were the better choice. He found himself writing down a noble response to the other.
~I will make sure that I remember. I thank you for you advise.~
A little bit cheesy to be honest, but then again, Link was the sort of kid to be cheesy. Anyway the thought of having those cool 'before battle' talk kinda thing was always thrilling. The Hero looked back up to the other a smile upon his lips forming the smallest of blushes upon his face.
Reading the words, livid eyes only flicked from the other’s knuckles to face, brow quirking for a quick second before it rest once more. Such a young-looking boy— then again, Byakuya himself was rather guilty when he was that age when it came to getting bruised up. Considering his life had been built up to reach the current positions he at the moment held, it included long days of training for hundreds of years; it didn’t help that during his youth he was incredibly brash and, well, what would be considered unbecoming of him.
Though he was very sure he didn’t fight off evil spirits at such an age. “You ought to make sure those bruises do not become permanent.” It’d be a shame, really. The nobleman himself was rather fortunate for skin that was both hard to cut and lacked any easily seen blemishes, such as scars and the like. But, considering this child was a stranger, there was very little care for what the other did, but a small sense of… well.. caution was given anyway. The Kuchiki was not completely heartless- as much as he tried to portray himself as.

Fear was sent through Link. True ultimate fear. He didn't know what to do, he didn't know where he was, he didn't know a thing. Confused he was throughout the place he walked. It seemed so dark, danky, and scary. Oddly enough, he seemed to have been glowing while walking around the place. His Master Sword was bright as ever, and so was Link. It was kinda weird, but oddly calming at same. Eyes perked up as he saw a red-headed lady whom spoke with amusement around her voice. A frown crossed his lips as she spoke of the Netherworld.
Netherworld? I'm in the Netherworld. THE NETHERWORLD? How could this have happened? His lips opened showing a very scared face, totally ignoring the other's many guessing that she spout out. NETHERWORLD? BUT HOW? WHAT COULD I HAVE DONE WRONG? DID I KILL SOMEONE I WASN'T SUPPOSE TO KILL? I SWEAR THAT POT WAS LAYING ON THE SIDE AND THERE WASN'T ANYONE NEAR IT. I'LL GIVE BACK THE GREEN RUPEE IN IT I SWEAR. HAVE MERCY PLEASE.

“Wait just a second,” the demoness reprimanded, eyeing the boy curiously. He seemed to glow amongst the creatures of the dark, like a beacon of hope and light. It was disgusting, nauseating—and quite honestly, pretty damned amusing!
“What did you do to land a spot in the Netherworld, kid?” As the vassal inquired, her head tilted at an odd degree, closely inspecting every last aspect of the lad with eyes dyed like embers. “You don’t look like the scum of the earth or anything… Lemme guess, you’re an assassin. No? How about a thief?” When the boy failed to respond, she knitted her brow with impatience, darkening her expression with an indignant frown.
“A lecher?”

Link's grandmother looked over such other person. It was quite odd to see such someone walk around with that color of skin and hair. Think of it more as curiosity than frightfulness. However it would be a lie to say that she wasn't shocked at first. However, it was noticeable that if she relaxed. "Hello dear. Are you Link's friend that he told me about?" The Hero stood but next to his dearest Grandmother, still the bright smile laid upon his face.
Downward the head bent as she proceeds through upon the opening of said door, abreast the boy in his search for the elder. A home’s scent embraces her to bring an eased feeling, almost as if she could live there herself if desired the light. Her place was not here. After the search, they came across his grandmother knitting in her chair. Lilac stick who glided over luscious folds, parted in a sweet smile, the bow of her head in a greeting.”Hello.”

If one would say Link was lost it would that of an understatement. Yes, such child was lost, but lost in a certain way. This place, or rather world, was unknownst to Link. The place didn't smell of the salty airs, nor was the people anymore familiar then the world. Most the people that spoke was in a tongue that he had recognized, however, no such person would help him as the hero could not even speak a tongue as for he was thus mute. Such was a sad say when speaking was actually needed to do anything. So thus the boy went wandering around to no where. In all of honesty, it looked like he was a little scared. Being in a place that was so technologically advanced while such the world you lived in had but lanterns and coal was scary. The bright lights was nothing of the land that was the Great Sea, and albeit it was thrilling to see such colors and arrays of things the young lad would never had dream to so see. Yet it didn't change his situation. Link was lost, and he was scared.
Oddly enough, someone caught his eye. It was a teenager who looked out to the crowd in some amusement. Perhaps he could help the lost child. Ah, but of course Link had no way of communication except through sign and writings. It might be so as possible that he had paper and pen on him-- the other was wearing a bag so that wasn't entirely impossible. Thus, the Hero started toward the other that sat on the bench. After arriving in front of him, he gave the other a stare. Not a hard on stare that would freak someone out, but an almost soft 'I'm scared can you help me?' stare. One that a child would give to his mother if a stranger approached them out of shyness. That sort.

Nimbasa city was the city of lights, the city of entertainment, the city of all things fun and exhilarating in the hearts of people who only visited the city when they needed to have a little fun and had plans with people they had made days before so all their happiness could burst at one time. It was a place where you could wind down and do what you wanted, waste days here to your heart’s content and go back to your normal life feeling like you were on top of the world. If you were a person like Blair, you saw the fine lining that separated happy and people who were here for nothing that was anywhere near being happy. Nimbasa was a big city and there was a lot of business that went on here, even some people might declare a little unorthodox, but the brunet wouldn’t openly tell anyone that and scare them away if they spoke to him about the city. He would do what every smart man would do when he was looking for profit: lie; Sugarcoat everything; say that this place was the most peaceful place in the whole region if it meant getting something back in return for his kindness. Usually it paid off, sometimes it didn’t, but since there was no room for error in the boy’s mind it usually ended up being the former and it just kept that pride of his in check.
Foreigners. You could notice them in a crowd, actually. Constantly looking up from a map that wasn’t all that helpful at all, glancing around to anyone that seemed nice enough to give directions. He saw a few from where he was sitting ever so casually on a bench, but did he move? No, not when it was this funny. If they noticed him and went up to ask, sure he would help them. Until then he would stay stationary and watch quietly.

“I love foreigners. Always amusing to me ♥”

Bruises. What annoying things. Both such things revealed to other peoples what might he did and at the same the things laid upon his skin hurt when touched. Eyes looked down toward his knuckles, not blackened to the point of death, but so that it made other quite suspicious of the hero's dealings. However, Link promptly started writing an answer after giving so little thought about it. People asked him about it sometimes, even Grandma. What was there to lie if there would be nothing gained nor lost? After having them for so long, it seemed to come to Link as forgottenable, only until he rested and looked as such dark skin laid on his hands with extreme thought (which came as rarely).
~It's from swordplay you see.~ ~I have to fight a lot of monsters while helping King of Red Lions but it's fine!~
Unfortunately, the death god had very little idea as to what the boy spoke of, but alas it was perhaps a thing that was done in the living world and therefore he wouldn’t be abe to- or care- to understand. Though his flat, sharp expressions softened a bit when the other looked up to him with a certain glow in those gray eyes that sort of amused him internally a soft sound of thought leaving him, although he didn’t realize. It was… endearing really, even though most of the time Byakuya hardly pondered upon such.
“I see.” He replied simply, “And your bruises?” It only concerned him considering the apparent youth of the strange blonde before him.

Body flinched away from the screeching sound that came from no where, or so seemed from nowhere. A cringe crossed his face at the sound, and Makar started to become extremely frightened. Did that thing want Makar? What would anything want with Makar? Oh well, actually... Link could name a few things that would deem Makar a nice snack. Nonetheless, Link set Makar on the ground and stepped in front of him not heeding the other's words to leave. It was probably a good idea to leave so he could put Makar in a safer place but Link didn't really think it through all the way.
Hand reached out and grasped the blue metallic hilt. The Master Sword was incomplete, but it still held power to banish evil, although be it not enough for King of Red Lion's standards. The blade of the sword slowly made way out of the hilt, it's silvery white glinting. Promptly, Link pulled it out. The Blade of Evil's Bane, or otherwise known as the Master Sword, shown in holy glory. It was incomplete though, it's power not all it was, however it would be enough. The shield came next, such now Link was ready to face whatever the creature was and protect Makar from harm-- even though it was probably a good idea to run with Makar to the Deku Tree for protection and rely on this guy to kill this beast.
+ chantingwinds
The child actually looked distraught at having failed, which was… eugh. Whilst he enjoyed having his freedom he didn’t at all enjoy having to deal with these things. Having to deal with people and emotions that had influence on more than one person. Frankly it was utterly ridiculous, but there you are. There wasn’t much he could do about it in this place without his wielder around, but maybe later he’d bury himself away for a while. Out of sight out of mind, and yet ironically he’d be within the mind and so hardly forgotten. Flummoxing.
Less so than the other reacting to something, and then ah. Yes. Fascinating that the other could sense it and later he’d question the other, but for now he sighed before drawing the blade at his hip. “You should leave.” Because so far as he knew the mortal child would be entirely ineffective at dealing with the beast who suddenly made a thundering crash, saplings cracking as the thing screamed. Still out of sight, but most certainly there. Still, his knowledge on the other didn’t quite extend to knowing a key detail. Didn’t extend to knowing just what the blade the child carried was, because perhaps the bane of evil could cut the heartless evil. Who could say?

No matter where Link went, or what he would go to next, the place he'd always end up was Windfall Island. Always. It wasn't like he didn't like it, no never, he just found it weird that it was always he would stop by here anytime. It was so many times that he learnt the names of all the residents on the island and the residents knew Link well enough also. It was actually kind of nice. The best part about Windfall had to be the people, the ones that lived on the island and the travels, especially the travelers!
Oh the travelers were always so diverse, coming from areas of the Great Seas that were uncharted. He always seemed to follow them around, and if the traveler was kind enough, Link would get a nice chat. However, one such traveler caught the child's grey eyes, thus a man with a large pack on his back filled with masks of all different types. It was quite interesting to Link, so thus he slowly walked up to the sitting man, tilting his head slightly. Huh? Eyes looked at his ears. Oh he was Hylian! That was odd to see from a traveler, not many where Hylian, most were Human. A broad smile was given to the man as hands reached over to clasp behind his back.
@chantingwinds
-Windfall Island, an island that attracts traders and merchants from all parts of the Great Sea. What a coincidence that Arien finds himself in such a place after he had warped away from a dangerous situation! In troubling times, he doesn’t have the ability to focus on where his magic will take him; it can be anywhere, even in the past or future.
So there he is, laying exhausted on the shores of Windfall Island, not even able to do anything about the small waves wetting his feet.- Nnn…nnnngh.
-After a few minutes, he gathers the strength to sit up and observe his surroundings. Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be any danger lurking nearby. He’s safe for now.- I wonder where I am this time…? Hm?…
