A quick preview of this short comic I'm making based on Filmation's 1975 cartoon segment "Fraidy Cat".
The comic's progress starts back from a decade ago, when it was just suppose to be a quick fun sketch of the comic. But redoing the unfinished comic with outlines and colors.
This is mainly a practice to present visual storytelling. In other words, attempting to tell a comic's story without dialogues (sound words doesn't count in my opinion).
When I'll start publishing each of the page is not planned yet. Although the first page is finished, I want to see if I can finish few more pages and maybe make a cover for it before showing it out.
The first two screenshots of the comic is fully finished, while the third screenshot is still a work in progress.

I challenged myself to draw Wander by memory, after all those years of not drawing him. And I still freaking nail it.
Miss this guy so much.

Well I got this done a day late for Pokémon Day. But I’m glad I got this done before my weekend trip to Universal Studios. Yeh, gonna be fun. :3
And yes, it’s kind of ridiculous putting my signature twice. But it’s mostly to be on the safe side.
Can’t believe it’s been 10 freaking years since Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon got released. I still remember getting it Christmas Day of 2015, freaking loving over Nuzleaf being a dad before bawling my eyes out over the betrayal scene. Then loving the game so much to the point of making a fan AMV out of it. Good times, good times. I felt since it’s been a decade that I wanted to show off how my art skills have developed over the years.
The image of Nuzleaf and Fennekin was something I wanted to draw for years, yet never had the chance on doing. Not sure why I waited till now, but it’s possibly a great thing I did.
My idea for this idea was that grass-type are weak towards fire-type. When Nuzleaf brought Fennekin in, it’s something to be cautious about. Could accidentally flame up his leaf or the entire house. Especially when this “human” is new to being a Pokémon and stuff. There is no doubt that when Fennekin finds out his betrayal and being controlled (long head canon for another time. But to make it short, Dark Matter’s control over his subjects vary depending on the situation), he certain that she will destroy him entirely with her fire moves. But even with the thought of his own fate, as he grows a bond towards the child, he can’t help but grow fond by her kindness towards him and every Pokémon she encounters.
She is like a warm glowing light that help numb the corrupted darkness within his heart. Even though he’s aware that he possibly can’t change his fate, he hopes the Fennekin is able to fulfill her destiny as the human who last defeated dark matter and continue to have love and happiness in the Pokémon world. Even if he may be longer be with her and she forever sees him as a horrible being.
….(clicks tongue)
Glad that ended up having a happy ending! XD

Another Fraidy Cat drawing. Wanted to really practice drawing out Fraidy. Especially when I haven’t drawn him in a decade. Funny how looking back on my past artwork of him, my art skills has improved ALOT. Body structure looks very neat and well shaped, color and shading looks much nicer to look at. I feel like I’m still making improvements on always making those freaking lines smooth. But all in all, I’m proud of this (especially the last one on the bottom left).
I pretty much made a bit of an error on Fraidy’s eyes in the first few drawings. When looking at the references, it looked almost as if they needed to be a bit separated. As soon as I finished outlining them, I noticed the mistake and…oof yeah, no going back to that. But made a bit of redemption by fixing it in the last drawing.
I also wanted to continue testing on shading WITHOUT making it soft like I typically do, in order to bring in the old comic and cartoony feel that I view the show to be if it ever had a reboot. Most of it inspired by What’s New Scooby Doo series and the Scooby Doo comics I stumbled upon when visiting a comic book store.
Pen pressure in procreate is nearly impossible (Krita is my best friend, but too lazy to get out of bed). But hey, I tried to make it work the best I can. I also tried testing out the darkness of the drawings to see which is the most appealing after getting feedbacks from someone very close to me. Hence why the lighting of the shadings each looks different. Got a little experimental, so my apologies for that. XD

I kept these frames hidden for a long time. But knowing after many years that “Irken Outcast: The Musical” is never going to happen, I just don’t want all that beautiful hard work to go to waste.
I was the color artist for this particular scene in Rainbott’s project. It took possibly 50 frames to do and I put all my passion into make the colors and outlining as appealing as possible. I finished the entire scene before the cancellation announcement. But given there’s too much frames, I picked out the ones I’m most proud of.
I wish I can remember the storyboard artist who did the design, but I unfortunately can’t as of right. But they did such an excellent job making the characters so unique looking and the finished version wouldn’t look so fantastic without them.
I think to this day, I miss doing an animated group project. But hopefully one day, I can find it elsewhere. For now, I can just cherish how fantastic it was working on the IO project.

Oof. Didn’t get to finish the sketch dumps in time for Fraidy Cat’s 49th anniversary. So decided to dump this in here cause I got curious on testing out the comic/storyboard template.

So you all know about Filmation’s Fraidy Cat, right? The one back 1975 that not many people like?
well im one of those who like it. At least when it comes to its concept. But given how terrible the writing and execution for the series was, i always burst with creativity in retelling the series in my point of view. Its strangely fun and helps build my self-esteem in story writing.
Ive drawn several artworks of the cartoon, but this is the first ive done since my last one several years ago. I wanted to redraw Fraidy as a kitten cause i felt that design certainly needed an update. And not to mention i never bothered to draw a happy kitten so here it is. A happy kitten! :3
i also started drawing Billy the Kitt for the first time (Chibi version doesn't count in my opinion. Yeah still remember that time IMB strangely used that FC Chibi Artwork as a profile photo for series. Its gone now, but I pretty much still have screenshots of that).
I like the idea the Fraidy and his past lives have known each other since Fraidy was just a little kitten. So even though their practically past incarnations of himself, they are like parental figures (or youngest family member) towards him.
For Billy the Kitt, he would be casual with children. But caring for one is the LAST thing he ever wants to sign up for. So unlike the other ghosts, the thought of taking care of a very timid kitten that his spirit stuck unto due to Fraidy’s power/curse was something he was not happy about. But he went with the Ghost‘s idea on assisting and caring for the child regardless.
overt time though, he started to see more from him and even sense a hint of courage towards the child, despite him always being afraid. This caused him to grow newfound respect towards Fraidy and began to act more understandable and respectable towards him.
Though ofcourse, being strict and rough can still come in handy whenever Fraidy does something ruthless. Billy is therefore the most strictest one of 8 lives.
something else I almost forgot to mention, but the sketch of Fraidy purring when Billy gives him a nice ruffle on the head is hugely based on the part in “It’s a Dog’s Life“ where Fraidy happily purrs when one of the dog contestants gives him a nice “doggy pat” on the head. Possibly the most wholesome thing I ever saw in the series.
so I always wanted to sort of recreate it in my own version.
WIP versions can be seen below:

UPDATE:
Brittninja displayed the artwork as part of “Fanarts of the week” in her recent comic page of The First Human!
Thanks you for the appreciation, Britt! And congrats to the other artists, PuppyCoolMarzipan and Annawashere, for having their arts displayed too! 😁💙

"There was once a time where this land was filled with flowers. All summer, their leaves would sway in the summer breeze...and by fall, they'd be gone for good. But every spring they returned, bathing the land in their gentle glow. They became a symbol of hope for humanity."
----------------------
Feels like it's been ages since I've made a finished artwork. Somehow it blossomed when I got into Undertale and it feels fantastic. X3
I'm loving Brittninja's undertale comic, The First Human so far, and felt like making an artwork based on a specific quote in the comic.
I really wanted to experiment on the gaussian blur and it turned out pretty nice! Some screenshots of my progress with this is underneath:

I was practicing sketching CatDogs’ heads in the class I work at and the kids got intrigued by these mysterious guys. They kept on asking me to draw a full body version of them.
I decided to have them hugging in addition to that. :3
(Still not sure if I should make a digital colored version of this, but we’ll see. Depends if you guys are downe for it.)
