🌻 here's my entry for the second week of the @tmntfashioncompetition ! the theme this time was traditional clothing and I immediately knew I wanted to do something relating to my korean culture haha

I'm going against the lovely @tizeline for this one!!

this was supposed to take place in the Joseon Dynasty, but when researching the type of hanbok people wore back then it was kinda hard finding accurate information 😭 so I just went with what I thought would suit them :]

some fun facts about this drawing under the cut! ^^

I hc that donnie would infiltrate the schools to become an astounding scholar, so when he comes home he teaches his brothers what he learned ^^ he's wearing a dopo (도포), which was what confucian scholars wore back then!

mikey's wearing a child's hanbok (한복), which are more colorful than adult ones. so technically speaking, leo and donnie should be wearing one too, but I felt that leo would want to copy don haha. plus, they all still see mikey as the baby of the group 😁

raph's wearing a gat (갓), and this is kinda where it was hard to find accurate info.. it's known that when someone wears a gat with their hair in a topknot, it signifies marriage, but other sources said that it also signifies when a child has transitioned into adulthood. either way, it represents pride, dignity, and status, so I figured I might as well add it.

and since this takes place in the Joseon period, I thought it'd be nice to have raph copying a page of the Hunmninjeongeum (혼민정음), which was a document introducing the invention of the early korean language ^^

and last but not least, the table is inspired by the one my grandparents own :]

Fic where Bruce and Jason are separately thrown 10 years into the past and wake up in their younger bodies.

9 year old Jason is perfectly fine living on the streets, thank you very much. And is trying very hard to avoid Bruce like the plague so he doesn’t end up as another “good soldier” in this life. Not like Bruce even knows he exists, so it should be easy.

30 year old Bruce, on the other hand, is hunting Jason through Gotham. Because his baby could be SICK or INJURED or COLD and he’ll be damned if Jason doesn’t have everything he could possibly need in this life. It’s a fresh slate and he’s going to do it right this time.

Soap blinks awake, only to find the tall figure of Ghost is standing beside the bed. It should be unnerving, to look up and see the white skull staring back down at him. But Soap is never afraid.

“Hey, Ghost,” he greets sluggishly. “Y’okay?”

He’s come to ask the same thing every night he finds Ghost in his room. Because like a child after a nightmare, there’s just something… small about the way Ghost stands near him. Which is absolute insanity, because the apparition would tower head and shoulders over Soap any day. There just seems to be something about Ghost that shrinks in on itself those nights, standing silent and still at his bedside. And looking at him like this, somewhere in his sleep-addled mind, Soap’s hands itch to reach out. He finds himself staring at Ghost’s hands, nearly invisible from the black mass of him.

“Y’keep comin’ back,” he whispers. “So you do like me, huh? ‘M not so bad.”

The shape of Ghost shudders - a laugh?

“...’hnny–” Ghost’s voice dips in and out of focus, half a word coherent and then the next hopelessly smothered into whispers. But for the first time, Soap watches as Ghost seems to stoop even further at the failure, a real, heartbreakingly human frustration etched in every part of him. His massive form shifts, a hand separating from the void of his body. Does Ghost want to reach out just as badly as he does?

Is he lonely like this? Soap wonders. Trapped in this existence for who knows how long?

- dick and jason get picked up around the same time (dick first and then like two months later or sm, jason)

- theyre around the same age (dick 10, jason 11)

- basically grew up like twins (aka. very close bonds)

- dick is robin, jason is hood

- batman is still tired but happy

maybe this is silly but i appreciate how realistic you are in showing ghost's + soap's aging and retired life. even if neither of them were ever seriously injured, their work was some of the most physically and mentally taxing, and you infuse into your work so well.

not silly! I love trying to represent them in the most realistic way possible, and I've tried to pay special attention to how these two soldiers would appear as they age. that includes some of the less sexy elements such as hair loss and lame fashion 🙆‍♀️

💍 RING — does your oc have any piercings? do they want any (more) piercings?

Quinn--he's got a few ear piercings, only puts them in when he's feeling slutty™️. might be inclined to add extra ones in more..exotic locations, if there's an interest there😏

Vincent--currently none. if he does add them, they close up almost immediately due to the vampire healing thing :'D

🖊️ BALLPOINT PEN — does your oc have any tattoos? do they want any (more) tattoos?

Quinn--yes, lots! he has the ones I featured on his chest and arms, as well as several on his back and his leg. he'll probably continue to add more if the mood strikes

Vincent--he has a small tattoo of his RAF squadron on his back left shoulder

🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?

Quinn--nope

Vincent--can play the guitar and piano quite well. mostly as a hobby, but he likes learning specific songs

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Quinn--probably 90s grunge type stuff. various types of metal. he's got a shitty old ipod that he still uses

Vincent--enjoys music from various genres...classical, oldies, r&b, rap, hip-hop, etc. he has his favorites from each decade

💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?

Quinn--I think for Quinn, loyalty is very important. he's...been betrayed before and thus sticks very closely with the few people he knows he can trust. he loves his dog a lot, lol. other important people include his dad, his sister, his CO, and his best friend Danny

Vincent--protecting others is probably the most important thing for Vincent. he's fostered many human acquaintances through the years and has developed a bit of a complex towards keeping people safe. his current most important person would be his best friend and roommate Stuart who he's known since the 70's

🤒 FACE WITH THERMOMETER — does your oc get sick easily?

Quinn--unfortunately yes. he's got a shit immune system and gets colds fairly often. if he does get sick, his temperature is prone to sky-rocket pretty alarmingly. and he has other...side effects from stuff like that...

Vincent--doesn't get sick in the human sense. can go through withdrawal if he doesn't get his recommended dose of blood, and that leaves him weak and incapacitated
