Seeing the Lilo & Stitch live action movie doing so well is disheartening. (It’s the worst version a bad copy could be)

Seeing the Nintendo Switch 2 doing so well is disheartening. (Rewarding Nintendo for anti-consumer practices can only lead to doom)

Apart from the fact that I was pushing a joystick around, this felt like watching an indie film; and by the gods, it's incredible.

Just, go play it.

It's hard for me to describe why it's so fucking good. The aesthetic, the ambiance, the atmosphere. The story. It's an experience for sure.

WAIT, I have to Amend and Append a couple things:

1. It’s greedy, selfish people and corporations —that, at best, don’t give a rat’s ass about how much worse they make the world for the rest of us—who do virtually all of the ocean’s polluting.

2. It’s also the corporate lobbying (and probably bribing) of politicians to deregulate these corporations so they can do this legally and/or without detrimental repercussions. BP’s oil spill way back when caused catastrophic damage to the environment and they got the equivalent of a slap on the wrist and a wag of the finger.

This is just one thing we ought to be angry about.

Another Crab's Treasure

Just beat Another Crab's Treasure by AggroCrab; it's really good!

This game is fucking hilarious; peak environmental design that's just absolutely brimming with comedy and visual metaphors. Goofy goblin boy Michael Reeves voices a couple characters who I and the game itself absolutely despise! I LOVE IT!

ACT is aggressively pro-environmentalist and I am here for it. We humans are polluting the ever-loving hell out of the ocean all in the name of crabitalism. We just throw out so much trash with complete disregard to the effects it has on the planet and any ecosystems it passes through. FUCK. It ought to make you angry; it makes me angry.

It's also a great soulslike with aaaaaahhhhhhhlright platforming

If you plan to play this game--please you have to parry--parrying is the goat strategy--I kid you not--it's almost a little too overpowered--you can go through a run and not take damage if your timing is good enough.

Metaphor: ReFantazio (I'm creaming)

Just beat Metaphor today and OHH. OH MAN. WOW.

On top of being an incredibly addicting RPG game with the best game play loop Atlus hath crafted thus far (and spectacular class building strategies to boot), the world is DEEP, the characters are REALIZED, the messaging is APROPOS, and goddamn it, the human designs are so fucking raw.

I'll brush lightly on the points that Metaphor makes about how a King/democratically elected leader ought to be. YES, all of a nation's anxieties CANNOT be pinned onto a single guy. YES, a nation is more its people than the person sitting in the big chair -- we all cultivate our culture and values. And YES, that person ought to be someone we can look to for guidance, someone that we trust will push the world closer to one where dreams can be sustained.

It helps me understand and empathize with people of radically different views than me. I want change too; my state could do drastically more to help us folk at the top of the bell curve. I don't trust the president or his cabinet to make my future better; but I have friends that help me through the anxiety I get.

Having anxiety is human nature; yet if you let it overwhelm you, a monster you shall become.
