how do you go from “i think you'll end up breaking my heart but i’m strapped in for the journey” to telling me about how you’re not sure about this cause of some bullshit you made up?

to then taking me back to urs after a night out and gifting me a stuffed bunny for my bday that you got days ago and making me tear up, then comforting me and telling me you regretted saying that five minutes after you even said it?

my redneck friend let me try on his cowboy hat two nights ago and i swear to God it was the most comfortable hat i’ve ever put on.

it’s my birthday today and my new boss (started new job this week) called me at 8am to wish me a happy bday before work. he said he thought of calling me at 5am but wasn’t sure i’d be up. i didn’t even tell him it was my bday!
