Anne "The Skullslinger" Questren Reference

Introducing: my badass cowgirl. She's one of my favorite character designs I've ever come up with.

Anne is very reserved and chooses her words carefully, but that doesn't mean she isn't a bit chaotic. She's quite mysterious and prefers to work alone, but she'd be willing to partner up if she ensures you're trustworthy first.

Some of the assets I created for the tavern games Mission: Bring Back the Tavernkeeper and Journey to the Center of the Mind.

WILD things happened in these games. From character deaths to discovering Chloe Tavernkeeper's secret lore, I had immense fun DMing both of these and I'm so proud of my players for their outstanding performances.

Now, for context:

The gargoyle was part of a visual puzzle based on the finger puzzle in Monkey Island II: LeChuck's Revenge. I ran the puzzle in real-time using a pngtuber system to swap out his hand shape.

The terrifying lady with that god awful colour palette is The Producer, the construct that controls Chloe's mind (not always in the best way). She's a combination of the things Chloe fears: Nyx, The Defect, and herself.

The piece with the bridge and the airship wasn't actually done for the game, but I drew it afterward because I was so brainrotted about revealing my new character, Kade, and his connection to Chloe. For more about him, see this post.

Lastly, the robot lady was designed by me and then digitized and rendered BEAUTIFULLY by @the-luckyrabbit and I am forever grateful for the help. She's the 1st AD, and her job in Chloe's mind is to keep things moving smoothly and manage the different parts of her brain.

However, I had an incredible espresso martini on the Queen Mary ship a few years ago that has never been topped. I'd love to have that again.

I edited a video for my friend @modmad a few months back, and there was a perfect opportunity to throw my sona in there being snarky, so I drew this for the occasion.

Now I just have this Chloe that I can make peek out of anything I want. You have her too. What will she be behind? Who knows.

Kade Roth Reference

My sweet, charismatic steampunk guy. Where do I even begin with Kade? He's an artificer with a knack for magical firearms and machinery. His lifelong dream was to invent a way to fly, so he eventually built an airship from scratch that could sail the skies.

He began as a character in Chloe the Tavernkeeper's backstory that I created out of necessity. I had begun thinking about why she was so closed off and had a sort of aversion to making new friends, and I decided that she needed someone in her past that she opened up to, only to lose them. At the time, I wasn't sure if that meant they would betray her or if she would literally lose them. Eventually, I landed on the latter.

Kade Roth's story with Chloe was inspired by a real experience I had on the Galactic Starcruiser, that super expensive Star Wars hotel that Disney made a few years ago. I was lucky enough to attend and fell deep into one of the character's storyline: Raithe Kole. He was a scoundrel and recruited me to be his right hand woman for a heist he was pulling on the cruise ship.

That story alone sparked what would become Chloe the Tavernkeeper's backstory with Kade Roth. In brief: they worked at the Nightreach together (thieves organization), became good friends, sort of became more than friends but never really addressed it directly, and then they were sent on a mission together. That mission? Pulling a heist on a zeppelin. Except unlike the heist I pulled on the Halcyon with Raithe, this heist went very very wrong. In the end, Kade didn't make it out alive. Distraught, Chloe ran away from her life at the Nightreach and blocked herself out from the world. It was during this time of grief that she found the means to create The Scarlet Owl Tavern, and thus created the place that we all know and love now.

I created Kade to be a combination of many of my favorite characters and someone that would be the perfect partner for Chloe Tavernkeeper (you know, to make losing him hurt even more). This worked out a little too well, since now I (and many others) adore him so much that I am distraught he's canonically dead. That doesn't stop us from putting him in AUs though!

He did make one canon appearance in Journey to the Center of the Mind, since that took place in Chloe the Tavernkeeper's brain Psychonauts-style. It was the first time I had ever revealed him to my tavern group, and their reactions were worth the year of secrecy I suffered as I developed his character.

"Yu'll never catch me, ya peck necks!"

A piece I did for the AHiT art prompt "racing"! I suppose the "race" here could be interpreted in two ways... one, where Conductor is literally racing against these bandits, or two, that by making this film Conductor is racing toward the finish line of the Annual Bird Movie Awards. Either way, he sure is racing.

This is a companion piece to my Starry Night prompt submission, as they're meant to be from the same film.

We did it. Scarlet Owl Tavern Gravity Falls AU.

Obviously Chloe takes the place of Stanford Pines because of course I would. I mean, why do you think I wear this red turtleneck in the first place?

Marion is her Stan in this AU and god their story hurts me so bad. I love it.

Bonus Defect Bill because he haunts me to this day.

When the Book of Bill came out, there was a trend on the r/GravityFalls discord server where people would change their pfps to their OCs being possessed by Bill!

Of course, as someone who shook his hand back in 2016, he's been possessing me on and off ever since, so it was only fitting that I jumped on the bandwagon.

Bik Bazinga, private investigator and tinkerer extraordinaire.

I had the pleasure of playing in a lovely Toonkind game earlier this year where I was given a name, background, and a descriptor word. They were "Bik", "investigator", and "gears" respectively. Using those for inspiration, I came up with this silly little bee fairy!

He turned out to be insanely chaotic and whimsical, and I thoroughly enjoyed bringing him to life. Thanks to @steamed-tets for running the game!

The first two were from a set of games with some pretty heavy plot points. I'm pretty proud of those games! And yes, that is a Psychonauts psi-portal on the second one. Tee hee.

The last one is the silly Wonderland Twins inspired birthday game that I held with my birthday buddy @cherrppi! They did their character on the right, Story, as well as the epic lighting.
