Ya know when people told me "when you're finally safe enough that you can leave survival mode and start to let go of and process your c-ptsd/trauma things are probably going to get really, really bad before they slowly start to get better" I thought that was reasonable. I did not understand that by "things are going to get bad" they meant "you're going to find yourself in the worst mental state of your entire life, but dw, that means it's working" and tbh I simply wish someone had been more clear.

Tip of the day: every war is an information war.

Are wars won by more violence, more man power, and more weapons? Partially. But you can win with a lot less of all that if you are good at creating information gaps and delays.

Think of the world like you're a computer and everything from the physical landscape to the tone of people's speech is 1's and 0's. It's all data that you can take in to make plans and judgment calls.

Every war is won by denying or delaying information to the opposition. That's why spies and subterfuge have such a critical role in war.

So. If you need to fight a large, powerful body, know that your greatest power is in:

Creating information gaps:

- Purchases made with cash

- Purchases made at second-hand stores (so that even in an itemized list, there's very little way to tell what you bought: Kitchen? Clothes? Bathroom? Home decor?)

- Wearing a medical mask in risky situations

- Wearing long clothing that covers all your skin no matter the weather to leave people guessing whether or not you have identifiable tattoos or skin characteristics.

- Talking about plans away from electronic surveillance OR writing things on notes and destroying them as soon as you read them (like fully destroy - burn, drown in water, etc.)

- Creating situations that depend on randomness. Ex: The signal to act is the third red car that passes the bus station.

Creating information delays

- Intentionally laying things around that imply you've gone to mutually exclusive places.

- Leaving misleading things at the scene of an unauthorized activity. Ex: Wearing four pairs of socks and shoes two sizes too big so that footprints left behind don't reflect your actual shoe size.

- Giving conflicting information about the times that things are happening (except to people vital to a subversive act).

- Getting things printed / manufacturing things / hiding things in communal spaces - takes longer to narrow down who could have done it (but be careful of putting others at risk and remember there are cameras everywhere).

Keep in mind, I am not encouraging you to engage in crime. But what is right and just today may be considered crime tomorrow, so these are just principles of how to carry out a project in secret against an opposing force. They can literally be adapted to something as mild as an argument with City Council.
