Our world and lives right now seem to be at a standstill but I urge you to use this time to rest, fill up on all the love your family, pets, and friends can give you, catch up on those television shows you have pre-recorded and dive deeper into that book you started months ago. This too shall pass.

A MUST read! This book will change your life. You will start to think more critically and deeply and begin to understand that not only is it about surviving life but also about thriving in it.
Short excerpt: Brain rule #3 - Sleep
The brain does not appear to be asleep at all. Rather, it is almost unbelievably active during “rest”. Sleep is powerfully restorative. Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.

EVERY single time this song comes on, I sing along and if I'm not, I am self-reflecting. I am understanding that I am not alone and that I AM loved. So are you! You are worth it. You deserve it. Grace and mercy can find you too.

Fostering Learning Environments
Encouragement and positivity on a daily basis make a smooth school year. Morning meetings and closing circles are just two effective practices that do not take much time out of the day and remind students that they are heard, seen, loved, and understood. Both meetings gather the class together to build trust and make connections that otherwise may have gone unnoticed. When students share out their gratitude’s and concerns, it gives a short snippet into the life of that student and lets the others know in the classroom that they are not alone in the experience.

Recently, I shared this in a graduate course of mine. I chose this photo because it has meaning and memory. On the first major trip away together, my boyfriend and I traveled to the Sequoia National Forest and we purchased milk that came in this jar. The following week was Valentine’s Day and these are the flowers he picked on the way home from work. I sat outside one day and read this book that I wish I could remember the title of. Nonetheless, I am glad to have seen what I did and look back on it with fondness.

As a person who has struggled with anxiety, I am so eternally grateful for the people and places I have so graciously been blessed with. Continuing my education was one of the biggest adult goals I had and since starting, a professor introduced to me “self-talk”. And POSITIVE self-talk at that. I recorded myself saying these words and I know my plan and purpose is to exactly as it states, amazing things.
