2018 - has been a year of growth, a year of total surrender, a year of saying a few more no’s to let in some good yes’s, a year of trusting God, and a year of cultivating what matters. •• I am so thankful for 2018. Thankful for the people who entered my life, left or stayed. Thankful for the good/bad days, answered and unanswered prayers. Thankful for avenues, such as this little app to pour my heart into strangers. Thankful for my family. Thankful for connections. Thankful for the goodness and faithfulness of God in my life... We can’t control how others view us. We can’t control their posture towards who we are. We can’t control how they accept us or how they don’t. A persons distorted opinion of you does not make it true. It does not make it fact. Here is the best thing: Our value isn’t associated with the way another views us or chooses to react to us. Yes, it’s sad to go through, trust me I get it. I’ve been through that... I know it is hurtful to consider the distorted views others have of us, but guess what: God has final say. We are human, and so are they. You are allowed to fail, and to not be put all the way together some days. The ultimate thing is how God views us. We aren’t perfect humans but we serve a perfect God who loves us despite our short comings and mistakes.... ☺️😊 You are so much more than the voices around you, the looks from across the room that tear you down. You are so much more than the person you are standing next to who doesn’t acknowledge your existence. You are so much more than the people who don’t choose you. The hurts others have caused aren’t the ultimate thing, God is. How another views you or treats you is a reflection towards them, not you. You deserve good people, with good intentions, people who stand up for you, see the good in you, love you through it all, walk with you side by side, and hearts who truly see the depths of your being. You deserve people who aren’t wavering, and see so much good in you that they don’t know how to handle it. It’s been a journey... I remember that there was a point in my life where I made the decision to stop to try to forget and hoping that some chapters of my life would have been completely erased or played out differently.
