Meeting Felicia and my con adventures!:
Back in September, I went to Fan Expo in Toronto to meet Felicia. I was pretty nervous. This would be my first big con and it's in a major city, so I was pretty intimidated about the whole thing. I got there on a Wednesday night, and spent a few hours on Thursday (the opening day) to explore and get familiar with the spaces. I also happened to run into someone from my local cosplay scene, which was cool!
Friday was spent meeting Hoomans (yay!), and spending time getting Jessica Nigri's autographs for my friend Andrew (who met Felicia at Awesome Con on my behalf back in May, so I owed him), browsed around, then went home.
Ok now for the fun thing: Saturday was the day that I planned to go meet Felicia because I had my photo op that day. After going through the crowd and dealing with the confusion that was the photo op section, I managed to get in the line and up to Felicia without having a panic attack. When it was my turn to go up, she immediately recognized the Team Hooman shirt I was wearing, and just as the photographer was going to take the picture, Felicia turns to me:
Felicia: "wait, are you Christine?
Me (nodding): "yeah!"
Felicia: "it's so nice to meet you!!"
And we proceeded to get the picture taken while hugging. It was a really sweet moment!
We talked for a quick moment, got the photo developed, and then went to find where she was going to have her panel later, and when I found it, the line was already to the back of the hallway, and there was still an hour left to wait! For most of you, this wouldn't be surprising, but where I usually go to smaller cons in my small home province, it's not something I was used to (yet).
The panel was really cool and Felicia was her awesome, energetic self, and made sure to answer every question. I was the last one to ask a question, and it was about getting experience in a very small market. I also said that I came from Newfoundland just to meet her (to cheers from the crowd) and she said "What?! Newfie, Newfie!!" And the host said (who was also American) said "So you come from away, like the musical?" That was an awesome moment! I think a lot of Newfoundlanders are still quite surprised when non Canadians know where we are (hell, sometimes we are surprised when fellow Canadians know where we are!)
After the panel, me and fellow Hoomans went to her table for autographs, and we. It was my turn to go up, I paid for two, and then went up to her. Felicia, again recognizing me, turned to the person who took the money and said "hey <insert name here>, this is Christine" and then she told me to go back to the person. I did, and then I was told I wasn't supposed to be charged as much as I was (I paid $90 for two autographs initially, and got $45 back), and then I came back and got three things signed. I have her my gifts that I brought, which included a dress and bow for the baby that I bought from local Hoomans Shara Desiree King and Dave Squid Mullett who run Midnight Tailors here in Newfoundland, and we chatted for a moment (I was anxious and probably made myself look like a complete dork).
After that, there was a Team Hooman meet-up (my first one! Yay!!), And we ended ended up at...um... It was either called Shoeless Joe's or Shirtless Joe's (hehehe ;-) and chatted, recorded some stuff for the HooPod podcast, and just had a great time.
I had a really great time at Fan Expo! Thanks to Felicia, Blair Beveridge, Stephanie Turner, Mike Fox, Sam Lewis, Kristen Walsh, and others whom I'm unfortunately forgetting the names of right now for making this a very memorable experience!! I can't wait to go on another Hooman adventure and meet more of you amazing people's!! I #lesethanthree all of you!! :-D
Ps: I'm writing this on my phone, so I apologize for any tyypos ;-)

What was Mako like?
I’ve known him since I was 13. He played my uncle and father several times in my career, someone I’ve been able to check in with over the years to ask advice about career and life… so in many ways, he was a lot like Uncle Iroh.

I love how people still hate on Korrasami by saying they’re just friends despite the fact that Bryke, Janet, and Irene Koh have all said they’re canon

Life Update
Life Update: Haven't been sleeping well the last few days, and it seems like it's one of those weeks where everything gets fucked up and piled up on me. Yesterday, I decided to not go to my support group so I could work on my costume, only to have two events pop up on me, one being a St. Patricks's Day party (which I turned down), and the other a games night which I was told last minutes was being held at my place (I hate the last minute aspect, but I had fun nonetheless). now, I'm frustrated about the weekend because I've been invited to supper with a friend at his place (the one everyone thinks I should start dating, and that's a whole different kind of stress), and my aunt's 70th birthday is on Saturday and if I can't find a way out Saturday, then I'll have to go on Friday with my mom and not get home until Saturday evening, and then I won't have enough time to rest before going with my friend. Luckily, tomorrow will be a bit easier on me because I only have to go to the mall and then my acting class right after, but I'm going to save up as much energy as I can before I go. And don't get me started on losing my power for nearly 30 hours last weekend and losing that chunk of time to work on cosplay!

Signore e signori: The panel from The Legend of Korra/Avatar panel at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco on November 19th, 2016.
It was a charitable event done to benefit the Cartoon Art Museum, Friends for Benefits, and The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.
The panel was moderated by Andrew Farago, and the panelists were Janet Varney, Dante Basco, Mindy Sterling, John Michael Higgins and Dan Parsons (who illustrated Avatar: The Last Airbender Legacy Edition). (And I should add, Mindy was absolutely hilarious and stole the show here).
Here’s a little something you can listen to get your mind off of how depressing the past few days have been (though they did touch upon the election here, if only in a peripheral manner. Thankfully, it was left to a lot of lighthearted jokes and didn’t go any deeper).
Enjoy.

Located in the Western Coast of traditional Earth Kingdom lands and the main result of the Harmony Restoration Movement, Republic City is a place for all benders and non-benders to live in harmony regardless of Nation, Kingdom, or Tribe.
Surrounded by majestic mountains in the northwest coast of the Earth Kingdom, Republic City is the largest and most modern city in the United Republic of Nations. Following the Hundred Years War, there was much debate about what to do with the Fire Nation colonies in the Earth Kingdom. Rather than send the Fire Nation citizens home, Aang and Zuko established the United Republic Nations, an area of the world where people from all nations could live and prosper. Republic City became its capital, but to Korra, the city symbolizes freedom and a chance to start a new life.
