TW: BMI My husband and I are planning to start trying for our first baby this year, but I’m currently facing a challenge. Due to a medical condition, I’ve gained a significant amount of weight, and my BMI is now around 35.4. While pregnancy isn’t impossible with a higher BMI, it’s generally recommended to aim for a BMI under 26 for the healthiest pregnancy. My goal is to work towards a BMI of about 24.2 to ensure the best possible experience for myself and our future baby. I’ve started this blog to hold myself accountable, document my journey, and create something meaningful to look back on once I achieve my goal and begin this exciting new chapter. If you’re interested in following along, I’d love to have you join me here!

I made some orange cranberry muffins last week. They were so tasty and not high in calories. Each muffin is 240 calories. I’ve been eating them for breakfast with coffee.

It’s crucial to include foods you genuinely enjoy in a weight loss plan, as doing so in moderation can help prevent feelings of deprivation and reduce the likelihood of binge eating. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve indulged in some meals that were higher in calories than my usual choices. However, I made sure to stay within my calorie deficit most days, and if I went over, I balanced it out with a workout.
Since my last weigh-in, I’ve lost two pounds, bringing my total weight loss to six pounds since starting this journey in the second week of January. I feel good about the progress I’ve made so far and am staying motivated to keep going.

Here’s my husband Gabriel getting ready to sit down and eat the dinner we made the other night. Ribs were on sale at our local grocery store so we bought a rack. I went with sweet potato fries again because they’re tasty and I can have a lot for a few calories. Surprisingly this meal wasn’t too high in calories and I was able to stay under my daily caloric intake.

This is what I had for dinner tonight. I had a small breakfast and lunch so I could afford to have extra sweet potato fries with dinner. My wonderful husband Gabriel cooked this meal when he got home from work. It was extra nice of him since I was home all day.

A new snack I’m trying is canned peaches. The ones I bought are canned in water so they’re lower in calories. They really satisfy my sweet tooth and are a nice treat. I had them last night as a dessert and again this morning with breakfast. I will definitely be eating these a lot on my journey and I’ll look into other low calorie canned fruit options. I’ve also been eating fresh fruit, of course, but I just find the canned fruit to be much sweeter. The canned fruit feels like more of a dessert than the fresh fruit.

I burnt 471 calories at the gym yesterday and I’m happy about that. I’d like to incorporate some more strength training into my routine, but I won’t rush into it. I’m over the cold I had last week so I’m aiming to go to the gym 5 days this week. Wish me luck!

I haven’t posted or gone to the gym in a few days because I’m sick. Gabriel got some sort of flu and gave it to me so I’m taking it easy. With that being said I’m keeping up with my daily calorie goals. A few days ago I had this tuna sandwich for lunch.
