Chapter 9: Three Is A Party
As promised, Lady Danbury’s ball was the first one to be held during the season and Amelia just received her invitation. She stared at the paper in her hand, contemplating her life choices. Next time, she really should be careful with what she said, promising to vacate a spot in her schedule, but now that she did, her introvertedness is hitting the maximum after back-to-back meetings.
“Fuck-” One glare from Lynn was all it takes for Amelia to swallow down the curses about to escape her throat.
“Sorry.” Lynn sighed as Hugo shook his head at the two.
“The ball is in a week. There is still time. We will make you a new dress for the ball.” Lynn’s word about her wardrobe is absolute, so Amelia just nodded her head. It is no use trying to go against Lynn when she is fully capable of decapitating someone.
***
She was late, Violet noted as she scanned the room trying to search for her niece. In fact Amelia was late by an hour and a half. Even the Queen arrived half an hour ago.
“She is late, your niece.” Lady Danbury noted.
“Just like her mother, that one.” Even her grin is just like her mother.
“I know, I apologised. She is usually punctual-” Then they heard murmurs coming from guests. My was it a scandalous sight, for someone to wear such a gaudy coloured dress. However, nobody can say the 3 foreigners do not look attractive, because each one is truly an eye candy, together? They are a spectacle.

The princess herself was wearing a golden sequin tube dress that formed a straight skirt. To cover her bare shoulder, she wore an emerald coloured silk cape that went all the way to the floor. On the cape, there were markings in colours. She looked regal and expensive.

The lady-in-waiting went for a more Great Britain style, but with a twist. Instead of the Empire waistline, the cuts were made on her natural waistline. Her hair was twirled and tied in a low ponytail. It was feminine and less extravagant than the Princess, but truly fitting for her.

Ladies of Great Britain did not know an exotic man could be so attractive. The Princess of Siam’s Lord-in-Waiting is not only wealthy, but also has a great build. They could see the outline of his muscles, all firm underneath the modern suit. He also has great features and his sharp eyes just made him look mischievous and mysterious.
“My, they made such a ruckus.” Lady Danbury chuckled, watching the Princess of Siam walk confidently despite the amount of whispers coming her way.
“Lady Danbury,” Both Amelia and Lynn curtsy at the host, while Hugo bowed his head.
“We apologise for our tardiness. Unfortunately there was an emergency at the embassy that I needed to settle quite urgently.” Lady Danbury frowned a bit.
“Well, I hope nothing bad happened.” Amelia chuckled a bit.
“Fortunately it was quickly settled.” The old lady nodded with a smile.
“Well, go around then, maybe you will catch a gentleman.” This made Amelia laugh sincerely.
“I do not have the time to pursue such a relationship, but maybe you can introduce Hugo to several ladies?” Lady Danbury looked downright predatory while Hugo looked alarmed as Lynn held a laugh.
“No- Princess, I am fine-” Lynn elbowed his ribs, shutting him up.
“He will turn 26 years old this year, as a friend I am afraid of him possibly not marrying due to the amount of workload I have,” Amelia and Lynn perfectly played the guilty and caring friends.
“Well, alright. Come on, boy. I have several ladies in mind.” Amelia and Lynn giggled as Hugo was dragged away by Lady Danbury.
“Oh my, poor Lord Hugo.” Violet giggled along with the younger women watching Hugo bow his head to several young ladies, his face looking uncomfortable.
“Yes, well. I am… Quite serious when I say I am worried.” Amelia looked at Hugo as she grabbed 2 champagne from a waiter’s tray, passing one to Lynn.
“His father is on his deathbed and to succeed in the title he will need to marry. That is written on the will and I want- no I need him to succeed instead of his older brother.” Amelia shuddered as she remembered what kind of person was Hugo’s older brother.
“Sometimes I wonder, why has he not found anybody… He is not a rake-” Lynn furrowed her brows as she sipped her champagne.
“He is polite-” Amelia continued as she was judging the lady he was talking with from top to bottom and reversed with a raised eyebrow.
“Good looking, at least enough to charm whoever that is.” Lynn noted.
“Smart enough to work for me, and that is saying something” Amelia nodded.
“Rich-” “Then why not one of you marry him,” Benedict interrupted, making both girls turn to him looking all disgusted.
“No. Aside from that would make a morganatic match, that is like… Marrying my own brother. That is disgusting.” Amelia cringed and took a huge gulp of the champagne, shocking Benedict.
“I am engaged.” Lynn simply laid her concluding argument. Benedict only shrugged at this before dragging both of them to group with Daphne and Anthony.
***
Amelia was laughing with Anthony, Daphne and Benedict as they gossiped about the men who were trying to court Daphne. They were truly a hilarious bunch. It was not long when a familiar man in the swarms of young girls caught her eyes, which at first she tried to ignore, but her brain told her it was not a wise decision.
“Ah,” Amelia said with a bored tone, making all the 3 siblings follow her line of sight. “Damn, I was hoping to not meet him until next week.” Amelia sighed and sipped her 2nd glass of champagne.
“You know him?” Daphne asked Amelia, surprised.
“Yes, Simon Basset. The new Duke of Hastings. We work together. It was one of Prince Edward’s projects and I hopped in. It was done in his land.” She turned toward Daphne who was staring at the Duke.
“I better greet him then-” Shocking the Bridgerton siblings, she downed the champagne.
“Oh, ask him about the last report.” Lynn chirped, making Amelia groan.
“Right- I forgot about that one. Perfect timing then.” Amelia turned to the Bridgertons.
“I am off to work then,” She blew them a kiss and with that, she disappeared.
***
Young girls were being shoved to Simon’s face here and there by their mamas. It was unfortunate no matter how much effort they give, the new Duke of Hastings is not interested in marriage. He was searching for a way to escape the crowd when a voice familiar to him called out.
“Good evening, ladies. May I borrow the Duke for a while?” Amelia said with a smile, however, to all the ladies present she looked absolutely terrifying, not only was she an Ambassador and guest to their country, she is the Princess of Siam. They have heard that the Queen has taken a liking towards her and if anyone offended the guest from Siam, the Queen will deal with them right away.
“Good evening, your Royal Highness.” The girls performed curtsies to Amelia and as much as they did not want to let Simon go, there was nothing they could do.
“Absolutely, Princess Amelia. Shall we further our conversation somewhere else?” Simon quickly took the opportunity and placed a hand on the small of her back, leading her away from the crowds. Hugo and Lynn who saw this quickly break free from their crowds and follow them.
“Hugo and Lynn are following, let’s go to the balcony.” Simon glanced at her, a joking grin formed on his face. “Please tell me you are not interested in me.” Amelia looked up at him disgusted, before eyeing him from top to bottom judgmentally.
“I’m tipsy, not blind. Fortunately for you, I am not a debutante nor am I looking for marriage prospects. I truly have something to discuss with you.” Simon smiled and nodded as they entered the balcony, Hugo and Lynn joining them.
“Good evening, your grace.” Lynn curtsy at Simon and Hugo bowed his head at him. “Lady Lynn, Lord Hugo.” Simon noted with a head bow of his own.
“What is this, something you need to discuss?” Simon leaned on the railings.
“Your receding hairline” Simon blinked at Amelia’s serious grave tone before she sighed “Just joking. I will be frank with you. How often do you check the finance report given to you by your accountant?” Ah, so she did not lie. Simon straightens up as he tries to find an answer.
“I… must admit, not as much…” Amelia and Hugo’s eyes met before they sighed in unison.
“Not to be rude, but we anticipate that one.” Hugo crossed his arms.
“We found… Uh- some discrepancies in the report for the fiscal quarters.” Simon started to get serious and focus. Hugo looked at Amelia, urging her to tell the Duke.
“We found that the quarterly report using the dukedom’s funds and the calculated numbers written in the report to request the donation funds are far-off from each other…” Amelia could see how his jaw tightens.
“Truthfully… I would even say the content of the report was abysmal.” Amelia clasped both of her arms on the front part of her body, directly on top of her navel.
“And how would you know that the discrepancy is not the real number?” Simon’s hand clenched on the railing.
“No matter how ridiculous that would be, we considered that… And it is still a possibility until you or the accountant check it. However, from what we found- we even triple checked the numbers, there may be a possible corruption going on.” Simon looked downright murderous. This might be a tough reality to swallow, especially for a new Duke, after all it seemed like it has been going on since the previous Duke’s ruling.
“Lord Simon, if you are still in London this week, any time you are ready; you can send a letter to the embassy and set up a time for when you are available. Hugo and Princess Amelia will be available to show you their findings.” Lynn suggested with a smile as Simon nodded, rubbing his face with his palm in frustration.
“I think I need a drink-” “Or three-” Amelia chirped as Simon cleared his throat as the 3 Siamese nodded their heads.
“Alright. Let’s end the discussion here… As Lynn said, do send a letter to the embassy so we can schedule it if you want us to explain our findings, or we can send you the reports with pointers on the discrepancies.” Simon nodded at Amelia’s words. As the Siamese were about to leave, he stopped them.
“Princess Amelia.” Amelia turned around to see his crestfallen form.
“Sincerely, I thank you for telling me about this.” Amelia hummed.
“You do not have to, I did it for me, not you. The discrepancies shown could be the pitfall of our project after all.” Simon chuckled at Amelia’s haughty look.

IMPORTANT NOTES A/N: Hello, how are you guys? I hope you are well. Regarding this story that is following Julia Quinn's hit series, Bridgerton, I would start by saying I read the book first before I watch the Netflix series, thus I apologize if there are some differences with the Netflix version, but I will try to make it as similar as possible. I would also ask the readers to be kind when criticizing this story as this is my first time to actually publishing my work in the open. For the story, as you can see there is a time-travel tag. Our reader was sent back to the past with all the knowledge from the future. If you are also confused with Davika's education, I actually based her using Spencer Reid, a character from Criminal Minds. I also made Friedrich to be a year younger than Benedict when in actuality, he was born in 1794, 2 years younger than Daphne. If you are not interested or felt like those 2 themes ruined a historical romance story, then please do not leave any bad comments as you can just stop reading this story. Thank you for waiting this story to update, I am currently busy with work and post-graduate school application, so I am really grateful for waiting. Thank You Very Much! Chapter 8: Put-on-a-show kinda girl
This was it, the start of the social season and the day her cousin, Daphne Bridgerton is going to debut in front of the Queen of Great Britain, Queen Charlotte. While the actual presentation is not going to start in several hours, as the Queen has promised, Amelia is going to see the procession of the debut and has sent a carriage to pick her up as a guest. Amelia will also be introduced as the Ambassador and Princess of Siam making her an official guest of the country.
“Princess Amelia.” Amelia saw Queen Charlotte walking toward her with open arms. Behind her was her ladies-in-waiting and Brimsley in tow. Amelia quickly curtsied to the Queen.
“Hello, your Majesty. You look magnificent today, just like any day. The Palace too is beautiful as always.” She smiled at the ladies-in-waiting who curtsied at her and Brimsley who bowed his head.
“You look perfect.” The Queen took her face on both of her hands, turning her face around before stepping back to see her whole attire, nodding in satisfaction.
“I am glad you are here, child. Come now,” Amelia nodded and quickly walked beside Queen Charlotte as she was explaining the set up and decorations of the Palace today.
***
After being toured around the Palace, the Queen brought Amelia to the room where the debut will begin. At first Amelia was about to be placed next to the Queen on the podium, but then she explained how that will not be good for her image as she is here only to observe and to be introduced as guest, therefore she came up with another alternative after all the debutantes are done.
“... Rather than them introducing themselves to me, I am here as a guest of Great Britain, so I should introduce myself to them. I will do that after all the debutantes get their chance.” The Queen hummed as she contemplated, but then her mouth started to form a cunning smile.
“Well then, Princess Amelia. You better put on your best show today as the representative of Siam.” Amelia chuckled.
“Fortunately disappointment does not exist in my dictionary.” She smiled at the Queen.
As now she will actually be introduced in the crowd and not to simply be mentioned, she needs her formal Siamese clothes. She cannot represent Siam wearing a westernised gown. Amelia quickly checked on her wrist watch, there were still a good one and a half hours and fortunately based on protocols she always kept extra clothes in the carriage.
Amelia quickly told Lynn on the change of plan. Lynn told her it is okay as she already did her hair and makeup, so only the clothes were left. There are around 100 to 130 debutantes. Daphne’s name is in D, so she could just join the Bridgertons on the side and change her clothes after she is done. Yep, everything is according to plan.
***
Despite the frequent sarcastic exchange between them, he could say he has grown considerably close with Amelia. They could talk about plenty of things he could not talk about before with his family members, either because they are female or they do not get it.
Last month, during the preparation of Daphne’s debutante dress with Amelia’s Dai Viet seamstresses, Anthony even asked whether his mother will sponsor Amelia for debut, unfortunately when they asked Amelia she rejected with the sole reason of she is from Siam and it is a bit too late to prepare for such an occasion.
However, despite whatever she said, why is she here in the debutante room? Anthony could feel his eyebrow twitched in annoyance.Their eyes met and Amelia briefly waved at him. He trudged towards her with the rest of his siblings.
“Why are you here? I thought you do not want to debut,” He hissed lowly at her ear.
“I have no choice!” Amelia hissed back at him, making him confused, then Amelia remembered that he was not there in her house when she offered Daphne to use her seamstresses. Amelia looked around, making sure nobody was looking before she hissed back at him.
“I was personally invited by the Queen!” She huffed, crossing her arms.
“She thought I wanted to debut and offered me the Royal Family’s seamstress, but as I did not know anything about this season's- culture, I told her I’m going to just watch this year and decide next year if I want to debut.” Anthony let out an ‘Ah,’ so that was probably why Amelia asked about the social season.
“You do know this means next year you probably cannot reject her;” Benedict who was listening the whole time whispered, making Amelia look at him pointedly.
“Not if I can do something about it,” Benedict looked amused.
“My brother or my father can prevent me debuting by rejecting the Queen as I am not searching for a suitor. Marrying outside of Siam means they will lose their best diplomat. As if brother or father will allow that to happen.” Amelia explained before Eloise butts in.
“What are you guys talking about? Daphne is next-” This made Amelia take a sharp breath. After her cousin, she will need to change into Siamese clothes.
“Miss Daphne Bridgerton- Presented by her mother, the right honourable, the Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton.” The door opens to reveal Daphne Bridgerton, her cousin, looking extremely beautiful. White dress with gold accents and the back that form trains. Her hair was up in a bun and accessorised with white feathers giving her an angelic look.
She walked alongside her aunt, Violet Bridgerton, both looked extremely elegant. Then in the middle Daphne walked by herself, approaching Queen Charlotte, dropping into a curtsy. As trained, she waited, but then the Queen herself lifted her by the chin.
“Flawless, my dear.” before proceeding to peck Daphne on the forehead.
Silently, Amelia slipped out of the room just as planned and was briefed to every staff member. Outside, she quickly met Lynn and Hugo who were waiting for her.
“Princess, let’s go.” Amelia nodded and followed Lynn and Hugo to a room provided by Queen Charlotte. Hugo opened the door as Lynn and Amelia walked in, then he closed the door for them, waiting outside the room.
“Are you ready, Princess?” Hugo’s eyes went to Amelia, next to him, standing tall and straight. In front of them is the giant double-door to the debutante room.
“Hugo, according to Britney Spears, There's only two types of people in the world, the ones that entertain, and the ones that observe-” Then her eyes met Hugo, his confusion well apparent on his face.
“Well baby, I'm a put-on-a-show kinda girl.” Her eyes returned to looking straight ahead as the doors opened.
***
After all the debutantes got their turn, they all thought it was the end, when the debutantes and their mamas were ushered inside the room. Daphne and Violet quickly found the Bridgertons.
“What is going on?” Eloise asked as she watched the debutantes filled the room. In all her years, this has never happened before, therefore Violet could only shrug her shoulders as she shook her head.
“I do not know, this has never happened before.” Violet looked around, chatters were everywhere. Suddenly the chatters got louder as they saw Queen Charlotte stood up from her throne and raised her hand in motion to ‘calm down’.
“Good morning my people. I know this is unexpected, however this year, Great Britain is welcoming a guest from the Kingdom of Siam. I would suppose several of the Parliament members have met her before, the new Ambassador of Siam.” The chatters returned, especially among the men in Parliament.
“With frequent involvement between Siam and Great Britain that will come in the future, I will ask you to treat them with respect and kindness. Now I would like to invite the Princess of Siam with me.” Queen Charlotte motioned to the Palace staff.
“Presenting, Her Royal Highness, Princess Amelia Chaiya Kanika from the House of Chakri.” The door opened revealing Amelia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left: The Clothes, Middle: Bun, jewelries, tiara, Sbai and sash belt, Right: Makeup and bangs)
She looked very different, elegant and mature as she was clad in a blue traditional Siamese clothing, the Siwalai, that is more tight-fitting than what the women in Great Britain wore. Her makeup was light, only her eyes stood out and her hair was up in a bun with a glamorous tiara adorned by diamonds. The amount of diamonds she wore rivalled the Queen herself.
However, that was not what caught them off guard, but that she was escorted by the Prince Regent, George IV himself. He escorted her like all the mothers did to the debutantes before pausing to let Amelia approach the Queen and performed her curtsy.
Watching her walk like this reminded Anthony of the first time he saw her in the Palace of Westminster 3 months ago. Like before, her presence effortlessly commanded the room. Her walk was as graceful and fearless as before, without hesitation and full of confidence. Then better and more stable than other debutantes, she dropped, performing a perfect curtsy. That day everyone was grateful the Princess was not a debutante.
***
It was such a shame that Princess Amelia of Siam is not a debutante, if not Queen Charlotte would have named her Diamond of The First Water instead of Daphne Bridgerton. Her first public appearance and introduction as the Ambassador of Siam is similar to debut.
The Queen could also see several eyes captivated by the mere sight of Princess Amelia. It seems like debut or not, the Princess of Siam will receive plenty of callers. What a shame, Queen Charlotte sighed. She would have enjoyed playing matchmaker for the Princess. Although 10 years older, the new Duke of Hastings is eligible and so is the Duke of Wyndham. Well, there is always next year. With that she exited the room followed by her ladies-in-waiting and Brimsley.
***
Anthony could sense it, the many eyes on both Daphne and Amelia. His sister, he can understand, after all she is a debutante and searching for marriage prospects, but Amelia? She is not even a debutante. His protectiveness over both girls rose. The audacity of these men, thinking that they deserve either of them? He would definitely crush their spirits down.
“I never thought I would see the Prince Regent here…” Colin remembered the fiasco earlier.
“Yeah, what was that about, Mel?” Benedict looked at their cousin as Amelia blinked.
“Ah, I broke my heels,” She lifted enough of her skirt to showcase the broken heel making them gasp at the sight of it.
“Hugo was supposed to help me, but then Prince George came over and asked me what happened. After I explained, he said he will escort me as a show of friendship between Siam and Great Britain.” Hyacinth came to her side.
“You were great Mel, like an actual Princess.” Amelia would have given her a snide comment that she is an actual princess, but she just looked so cute.
“I am sorry to interrupt,” Hugo bowed his head before standing straight.
“Princess, we need to go now. You have a meeting with Prince Edward and the new Duke of Hastings after lunch time.” Hearing this Anthony opened his mouth, but Amelia defeated him.
“Right. I will be going first, I need to bid Queen Charlotte goodbye.” Amelia curtsy and turned around, everyone created a path as she approached the door.
***
Amelia found the Queen in the green house, drinking tea with Lady Danbury. The servant who saw her quickly told Brimsley of her presence. After a while, Amelia was allowed to meet the Queen.
“Your Majesty, Lady Danbury.” Amelia curtsy as them, as perfect as her introduction.
“Princess Amelia. I heard you were officially introduced as the ambassador?” Amelia nodded at her with a smile.
“I was, it was quite a spontaneous plan tho,” She chuckled as Queen Charlotte shook her head.
“I think it was magnificent. You were flawless dear. If you were a debutante I would have made you Diamonds of First Water.” Lady Danbury looked impressed, while Amelia just laughed and thanked her graciously.
“What brings you here, my dear?” Amelia looked sheepish as she told the Queen.
“I am here to bid my goodbye as I am needed in the Palace of Westminster.” As much as the Queen wants them to eat lunch together, what can she do when it is work related. With that Amelia bid them goodbye.

Chapter 7: What Season?
It has been approximately 2 months since Amelia knew the Bridgertons. They have insisted that they spend lots of time together. From being invited to promenades, which Amelia has never done before and truthfully it felt weird for her to not read her documents, be in meetings or just be in her office. Taking a stroll and relaxing is not her thing as she found herself growing restless.
With Lynn and Violet working together, Amelia has to push deadlines backwards as apparently she is moving way too fast. The staff were unable to rest properly making them unproductive in the workplace.
“You look uncomfortable. Are you alright?” Benedict whispered as she was walking with Eloise. Amelia was explaining to her the concept of feminism and why it does not only benefit women.
“Really Amelia? Are you tired?” Eloise glanced at her cousin who is younger by several months. “Not tired per se. Merely concerned.” Amelia sighed, crossing her arms. Her eyes squinted from the sunlight. “Something happened in the embassy?” Amelia shook her head at Benedict’s question.
“Lynn delegates Tian to attend the meeting in my place because we oversee the project together, but somehow the meeting runs longer. I should have received a report by now.” Benedict sighed. These past 2 months one thing all Bridgertons realised is that Amelia is not only a slave driver to her staff and herself, but also has a terrible case of being a workaholic.
Nowadays none of them are surprised if they found her sleeping anywhere. Be it on the floor after playing marbles with Hyacinth and Gregory, in the corner of the room with a book on her lap or documents, on the sofa or once even in the garden.
“Amelia. Today is supposed to be your day off and tomorrow is the weekend! Come on, lighten up.” Benedict looped her arm through his. The energy he has made Amelia chuckled when she saw 2 men in Royal Guard uniform. Violet who was with Daphne did not realise they were approaching.
“Pardon me, Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton.” Their presence alarmed Anthony as he quickly pulled his mother and Daphne behind him. Colin and Benedict quickly came to back him up.
“Hello, gents. What is going on here?” Both guards bowed their heads at Anthony. “Viscount Bridgerton, we are here to escort Lady Amelia.” Then they turned to Amelia and bowed. “Your grace, your presence is needed by His Royal Highness, Prince Regent George IV in the Palace of Westminster.” Amelia nodded. “How many carriages are available? By Siamese security protocols I am to bring my guards at all times.” The guards nodded. “We were briefed on your security protocols. We brought 3 carriages. 1 for you and your Lord and Lady in waiting, 2 for the Siamese Royal Guards.” Amelia nodded and turned to her Aunt and cousins.
“Well, I will be on my way. I will see you again My dear aunt and dearest cousins.” With that Amelia followed the British Royal Guards. She could hear the whispers of the people in Vauxhall Gardens. Amelia rolled her eyes as she kept walking. She knows the men in Britain degrade her standings in politics for being a woman and more so as someone who is not British. The women's image of her is not that good either for taking such a manly job.
“Bunch of racist sexist fools.” She muttered as she got on the carriage followed by Lynn and Hugo.
***
Amelia’s meeting with the Prince Regent went on for approximately 3 hours and ended an hour before dinner time. “Princess Amelia, as it is only an hour away from dinner time, you are welcome to join today’s dinner if you like.” Amelia paused gathering her documents and looked at George.
“Is it mandatory?” “No,” George shook his head. “Am I allowed to refuse?” He smiled slightly. He likes Amelia, she won’t pretend if she doesn’t have to. “You can.” Amelia nodded. “Then I apologise in advance, I will not be joining the dinner as I am needed for the Russian-Siam-British meeting with Prince Edward at 8 pm in Buckingham Palace.” George blinked, “Then why don’t we have dinner there?” He bit his lips to prevent a laugh from slipping out as Amelia sent him annoyed looks. He knows unless it’s necessary Amelia will not be socialising with anyone, unless somehow the Bridgertons.
“I apologised, before the meeting I would like to try a restaurant that has been on my wish list for a while. Apologies in advance, I cannot extend my invitation as this has been my plan with Lynn and Hugo.” While George has no romantic intentions with the young girl, he knows a beautiful face when he sees one, plus he does like hanging out with her. She is witty and has a good sense of humour without the flirtiness many women throw at him.
“How about calling the chef to the Palace instead? If it is that good I would like to try it as well.” He knows she doesn’t want him to come, he just wants to tease her a bit. He wanted to laugh as soon as her lips turned into a frown and tore a piece of paper to write something down.
“This is the name of the restaurant. Try it next time with one of your mistresses, do not bother my bonding time with my friends.” She huffed before marching to the door, but before she went out, she turned around and did a quick curtsy to be polite. “I will excuse myself now.” It is a shame none of his younger sisters are cute, no wonder the heir apparent of Siam doted on her. Adorable, smart and polite. If he is her older brother it would be hard for her to get married.
***
With the lack of entertainment around her, the Queen does enjoy the Siamese Princess presence. Her wit and honesty are truly one to adore. Unfortunately she is extremely busy that they usually only meet up once a week for tea time, so when she heard Princess Amelia is meeting up with her son, Edward for a meeting, she quickly summoned the Princess for dinner. However, her eldest son, George interrupted the command saying she has dinner plans with her Lord and Lady-in-waiting.
“So, you are saying she will reject me for her Lord and Lady-in-waiting?” Queen Charlotte’s eyebrow twitched. “Of course she will not, but she will not be happy either with the interruption. She said the trip was something the 3 of them anticipated.” George reasoned out.
“Alright then.” Queen Charlotte sighed and leaned back on her chair. Usually she would not care if she interrupts someone’s schedule, but the British are trying to be an allied nation with Siam, so being in their bad book is a no-no.
“Tell Edward to ask if she is available for tea in the afternoon tomorrow.” George nodded before he exited the room.
***
“Alright, thank you. I will make sure to bring the prototype to our next meeting.” The Russian representative, a Duke from Imperial Russia, beamed a smile at Amelia, satisfied with the result of their meeting. Edward watched as Amelia smiled back at the representative, making him blush.
“Princess Amelia, do you-” “Princess Amelia, my mother was wondering if you will join her for tea time tomorrow afternoon” Edward quickly interrupted when the duke was about to reach out for her hand. The volume of his voice did make Amelia jump a bit.
“Uh- I am free tomorrow from 2 pm to 4.30 pm after my meeting with the Prince Regent.” Which she was about to use for tea time with Violet and her female cousins, but I guess that is not happening.
“Great, keep it open. Mother would like to have tea with you. Would you write it down please, Lady Lynn.” Edward grinned at Lynn who nodded with an impassive face. 3 months since he met her and never have he seen her smile or laugh.
Lynn saw what happened and while she doesn’t condone much of the many British Princes behaviour, so far she liked Prince George, Prince Edward and Prince William. They do not seem to be attracted romantically with the Princess, rather as a younger sister. They teased her, but protected her virtue from other lecherous men. A rather welcomed double standard from her part.
“Milady, we better go soon.” Lynn reminded the Princess who nodded.
“Alright, then I will be going first. See you at our next meeting.” The Princess curtsy before they head out the door.

Edward was just walking to his room when he saw his mother, staring at their family portrait. Truthfully, after his first meeting with Amelia, the debate happening between her and his brother, Frederick, got him thinking about his mother. She is so strong, taking care of 13 children, running the country and taking care of a mad husband, whom she still loves dearly.
Growing up watching his parents love, maybe that was what he wanted. Marriage of passion and love. His parents may not marry because of love, but after they got to know each other, it was a love match and they continued their marriage out of love. However, with his father being ill, his mother is now withering away. She still looked regal, but older and often sad. Amelia is probably right, her children need to appreciate her more.
“Mother,” Edward walked towards his mother with a smile. She turned to face him, a slight smile on her face. She looked beautiful despite her age. “Edward. Did you just finish the meeting?” Edward nodded. “Yes, in fact I did. I also did not forget to ask Princess Amelia about tomorrow afternoon.” Hearing Amelia’s name got his mother’s smile in full bloom.
“Really? Did she agree to come?” Edward smiled at his mother and nodded. “She did. Do you not like her a tad bit too much?” Queen Charlotte smiled at his question. “Well, she is witty, honest and intelligent. She even appreciated me more than many of my children, so you cannot blame me for taking a liking to her.” She looked at Edward and cooed. “If only you all were younger, I would have made you marry her.” Edward looked scandalised. “Mother- She may be beautiful, but I do not see her that way!” He hissed at his mother who laughed.
“Marriage is a duty, my dear. That was how I got married.” She casted her eyes downwards, looking sad before she looked at him. “Well, I will return to my chamber now. Good night, my dear.” Edward nodded at his mother, sighing. “Good night mother.” He may not be able to give his mother marriage, but maybe he should consider begging Amelia to attend more tea time with his mother if it makes her happy. With that in mind, he continued walking to his chamber.

Amelia did in fact come to the afternoon tea with the Queen. She was donned in what a 21st century woman would describe as smart casual. Amelia wore an all pink cropped blazer, cut an inch above the waist with a mandarin collar and 3 buttons in rows. Underneath, she wore a white sleeveless shirt with a mandarin collar. For the bottom, she wore a matching pink midi-skirt that went all the way to the floor, covering her ankle. For shoes she wore nude coloured strappy heels.
Her hair was up in a bun with a strand of fringe framing the side of her face. With a mandarin collar, Amelia did not bother to wear a necklace, instead opting for long diamond earrings. She also kept her makeup simple, almost looking bare-faced. Women here may not carry purses, but having lived as Davika in the 21st century got her to realise a purse is a necessity. She carries a simple white alligator skin purse to keep her mini hand cream, mini rose water spray, perfume balm, mirror, tinted lip balm, a home-made pepper spray and a hidden-knife dagger.
“Princess Amelia, I am rather interested in your attire today. It is extremely different from what the ladies your age preferred.” Lady Danbury commented. “Is this a fashion statement or merely the fashion in Siam?” Amelia glanced at the old lady as she sipped her tea. She soundlessly placed her cup on the saucer before voicing her answer.
“Thank you for taking an interest in my attire Lady Danbury, despite my choice I hope you actually like it.” Amelia gave her a smile while delivering her sweet introduction. “I do realise that what I wore is different from what the ladies my age wore, but then again none of them actually does what I do.” Amelia shrugged her shoulders.
“My gender alone has caused controversy among the men as a woman in politics and diplomacy, I could not imagine what chaos would ensue if I show up wearing such dresses.” Amelia blinked as she settled her tea on the table.
“Therefore, you could say my clothing is a fashion statement.” Amelia concluded.
“I think it looks beautiful my dear. To think those men have the confidence to judge how women dress while looking like that.” The Queen scoffed. Amelia smiled at the Queen’s words.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.” Queen Charlotte replied with a smile of her own.
“Well, the men always think they have the liberty to do whatever they want.” Lady Danbury grumbled as Amelia leaned and grabbed her hand.
“I think you look absolutely fetching, Milady.” Lady Danbury chuckled as she patted the hand on hers.
“Thank you, your Royal Highness.” Amelia pouted at the old lady.
“Please, just Amelia would do. That sounds extremely formal.” This got a laugh from the Queen and Lady Danbury.
***
From a distance, Hugo and Lynn were staring at their Princess being cute towards the old ladies.
“Do you think anyone will try to adopt her or ask her to marry their children?” Hugo leaned down and asked Lynn who was focusing on the Princess.
“I bet her Majesty, the Queen actually wanted her to marry one of the Princes.” Hugo’s lips jutted forward as he stared at the Princess with a raised eyebrow.
“I do not get how she does it.” Lynn glanced up at him.
“What? Being friendly with old people? Her Royal Highness always has a soft spot for old people, no?” Hugo hummed at Lynn’s words.
“I mean, that was how she got close to her grandparents.” Different from Lynn who has been Amelia’s playmates before a Lady-in-Waiting, Hugo only became Amelia’s Lord-in-Waiting when she turned 12, therefore he did not know the details of Amelia’s life.
“Is that how she got her title changed to Somdet Chao Fa?” Lynn gave him a once over look from top to bottom.
“What are you talking about? The Princess did not ask the Dowager Queen of Siam or the late King to elevate her and Prince Vernon’s title.” Lynn looked downright disappointed by his accusation of their master.
“It was given by King Rama II for the Prince and Princess contribution to solidify a diplomatic relation with the Joseon Empire.” Hugo let out a ‘wow’ as he continued to stare at their Princess.
“Hugo. I’m only going to say this once. If you betray the Princess in any way, shape or form, I will not hesitate to kill you.” Hugo visibly gulped at the threat. He may be a soldier and former colonel of the Royal Army, as the granddaughter of a warrior monk, Lynn was trained in battle and killing.
“I’ll keep that in mind, but you must know that my loyalty lies with the Princess.” He sighed as Lynn side-eyed him.
“I hope ‘Princess’ does not mean the Royal Family because that is an extremely big extension.” Hugo did not answer and just plastered a tight smile on his face.

Amelia was just giving the Queen and Lady Danbury explanations on things she carried in her purse when Queen Charlotte mentioned about the debutante season.
“Princess Amelia, have you found yourself a seamstress for the season?” Amelia blinked, not knowing what this season was about.
“Season? Like… Spring?” This got Lady Danbury and the Queen laughing, making Amelia look confused.
“I guess not spring.” Lady Danbury smiled at her cute response.
“Oh my, did you really not know about the season?” Amelia shook her head.
“It is the debutante season, usually girls around 16-18 years old will be introduced to the society and they will try to find themselves a match to marry.” Amelia’s mind went to Daphne, so that was what she fussed about.
“Aah… No…” The Queen smiled and clapped her hands.
“Well, you are a Princess from Siam, we cannot let your dress be sewn by just any seamstress. You will be using the Royal Family’s seamstress.” Amelia looked uncomfortable.
“Do I have to?” The Queen looked confused at her question.
“You do not want to use the seamstress?” Amelia shook her head.
“Be introduced, I mean… After all, I am from Siam and not from Great Britain, so I do not see why I need to.” The Queen and Lady Danbury looked at each other from the corner of their eyes. They were hoping the Siamese Princess to have a love match with someone from British nobility to solidify their relationship with Siam.
“While that is true, introducing you to the British nobility will further Britain and Siam’s relationship, no? You may even be able to create connections with them” “...Or love” Lady Danbury whispered discreetly as The Queen tried to soften the approach.
“Ah… How about this year I… See how it works first and next year I will decide if I want to be a debutante, it is 16 to 18 years old right? I have no preparation or knowledge about this season after all.” Amelia offered to not offend the Queen of Great Britain. This is, after all their culture and tradition, plus a quote she remembered from her time as Davika was, ‘When you are in Rome, do as the Romans do’ and right now, she is in Britain. In any way possible, Amelia needs to find a way not to create an enemy out of the Queen.
“Alright, that is acceptable.” The Queen hummed, taking a sip from her cup.
“Girls who already prepared their whole life for their debut have made mistakes. It would be unthinkable to make you prepare in such a short time.” Lady Danbury quipped and the Queen nodded as her face turned sour, remembering the Featherington girls.
“I will make sure to have a carriage ready for that day.” Queen Charlotte stated and Amelia knows she cannot reject it.
“Thank you for your generosity, your Majesty.” She sweetly smiled at Queen Charlotte who looked satisfied.
“I usually hold the first ball of the season and I would appreciate it if you would make an attendance, Princess Amelia.” Amelia liked Lady Danbury, so she gave her the same sweet smile and nodded.
“I will make sure to keep my schedule empty to attend it. Thank you, Lady Danbury.” The old lady chuckled while nodding, looking extremely satisfied. Amelia mentally noted to ask her aunt and cousins about what this season is about.
***
Different from the usual setting, Amelia was rather very busy, therefore instead of going to the Bridgerton house, this time Daphne, Eloise, Benedict and Colin are visiting the Siamese to their house. Anthony was away and Violet was taking care of Hyacinth who caught a fever at home. Gregory was also with her.
“This is really good!” Colin claimed as he ate another serving of mango sticky rice. They are sitting in the semi-outdoor dining room that is reserved for close friends and family only. A place where Amelia, Hugo and Lynn could do whatever they want, like eating while working.
“Aww, why does it taste so good,” Daphne whined “I cannot gain weight before my debut presentation.” She was still eyeing the cassava with coconut milk. A pout was apparent on her face, which only deepened as Benedict and Colin teased her by eating a spoonful each.
“What is this debut presentation?” Lynn asked, but her eyes did not look at the British as she was busy scooping another serving or spicy green curry.
“A means to showcase women as if they are prized calf to the society to flaunt themselves in hope of attracting a suitable suitor and where men will create their highest bidding in search for a wife-” “Stop spreading nonsense, Eloise.” Daphne cut off to reprimand her younger sister.
“I only spoke of the truth, sister. Throughout the season, women pit against each other to secure what they think is the best suitor and the men will try their hardest to woo women to take them as a wife.” Daphne frowned at Eloise’s words as the Siamese cringed, Hugo and Lynn turned to Amelia.
“Fortunately you rejected the Queen and Lady Danbury’s suggestion.” Lynn said as she chewed the chicken in her spicy green curry. This got the British perked up.
“Princess, do not join. We are busy enough as it is.” Their attention was tossed to Hugo.
“That is insanity. Imagine the headache. I’m glad I rejected the offer despite not knowing what it is.” Before it was tossed to Amelia who was still busy with her documents.
“Wait- Mel- What is this about?” Amelia’s eyes widened as Eloise slid in next to her and blocked her view of her documents with her hand.
“It was earlier, the Queen offered me to use her seamstress to create a gown for the debut presentation- was it? But I rejected her offer.” Amelia sighed as she swatted Eloise’s arm. Amelia never thought her answer would bring so much chaos.
“What? Why did you reject her offer?” Daphne and Benedict looked at her as if she had grown another head.
“There is no use or benefit for me to debut aside from creating connections, which I could do without debuting. I am not British nor am I looking for a suitor.” Amelia shrugged her shoulders. While her reason made sense, it was still a waste. A chance to receive a gown made by the Queen’s seamstress.
“You could have still accepted it… A gown made by the Queen’s seamstress.” Daphne’s eyes twinkled at the thought.
“I may not be the Queen, but I am still the Princess of Siam. My seamstresses are top quality if you want your debutante dress made by them. They are up to date with fashion and you can consult with them on what you like.” Daphne gasped at the offer and stood up from her chair to hug Amelia tightly, which choked her slightly.
“Would you really do that? Oh god, thank you so much Mel!” Amelia tapped Daphne on her forearms as her throat was being squashed. “Daphne- Come on, let go. Amelia can’t breathe.” Colin laughed as he pried Daphne from Amelia. With that the rest of the night was spent bonding between cousins and friends.

Thank You Very Much! Much Love, Cinnamon Meilleure's Writing Room

Chapter 6: The Royal Cousin
Growing up Hyacinth extremely loved the idea of Princess and Prince. She loves how elegant and beautiful Princesses are and how brave Princes are, but what she could never have thought was to actually have one as a cousin. Very different as well from what she thought. Not that Hyacinth thinks that cousin Amelia is not elegant or beautiful, actually she is and kind as well, but she is extremely… Busy.
From what Hyacinth understands, Amelia is here because of a job, as an ambassador they said. A rather very manly job to do. Amelia also goes to the office and has meetings instead of going to promenades and tea parties like other Princesses do, but those are not what she is surprised about. Hyacinth was surprised they could hold a 3 minute conversation in English, without realising they were talking in English.
Right now her cousin, the Royal Highness is sitting on the sofa, next to her is her Lady-in-Waiting, Lady Lynn. The both of them are too flabbergasted to talk. Her mother, Violet, was too shocked that she actually stopped crying and none of her siblings dared to talk.
“Y’know- From all the people I expected to mess up, I thought it would be me Lynn. I even bet 300 pounds on myself.” Marquis Hugo broke the silence with both females groaning in despair. “Shut up, Hugo. I will just continue talking in Siamese.” Amelia and Hugo looked at her weirdly.
“It’s a bit too late to start talking Siamese. The cat’s out of the bag.” Amelia sighed and she turned to Violet. “I’m sorry about what happened. We truly did not mean for our meeting to go this way. Are you alright, though?” Violet zoned out for a moment before she shook herself out of her stupor.
“I am fine, thank you-” “Lady Amelia! Are you actually a Princess? Like an actual Princess?” Hyacinth bounced, stopping in front of Amelia. “Hyacinth– Come here-” Daphne tried to pull the younger back, but Amelia stopped her.
“No- no. It’s alright.” Amelia turned to the pouting pre-teen. “Hyacinth, right? Do you want to sit down while I answer your questions?” The brunette teen nodded excited. Both Lynn and Amelia moved to create space in the middle of them. Amelia even motioned for Hugo to grab the snack they brought earlier.
“So, what do you want to know about Hyacinth?” With that the brunette launched her questions.
“Are you really an actual Princess, Lady Amelia?” Hyacinth repeated her previous question, although calmer this time. Amelia nodded as a response, a smile apparent on her face.
“I am, my father is the current King of Siam, Rama II of House Chakkri and my mother is his Royal Concubine.” While Hyacinth is ecstatic, Violet is confused. “I am sorry, is your father not Chim? The boy who Felicia met when visiting the embassy back in 1790?” Amelia nodded. “That’s him. Chim is father’s personal name, he was more well known as Rama II though.” Violet murmured along the lines of ‘to think he was a prince’. Amelia wanted to laugh.
“You know, back then in 1790, It was just 8 years after my father was declared crown prince, my grandfather was previously only a military leader before he crowned himself king in 1782.” This of course flabbergasted the Bridgertons, he declared himself king?? “As a new crown prince, my father needed to go back and forth to the embassy to learn about establishing relationships, but Great Britain is… A foreign land, and he barely speaks English. Plus, not to be rude, the British are not the friendliest people. Due to being a different race, my father was treated differently, only my mother was nice to him.” Amelia reached for Violet’s hand and gave it a squeeze.
“I truly hope you can forgive my father for falling in love with mother and the whole fiasco of mother running away to Siam.” Violet was a bit reluctant. “Mother was planning to visit after the social season. You don’t want to ignore her the whole time she’s here right?” This got her to soften.
“I’m sorry, It’s not like I am angry at Felicia… I just… 23 years without a single letter or news…” “And now you got one and any letter or news you want of my mother we can always give them to you. Like, this one.” Hugo extended his arm to Violet, handing her a letter. “This is from Felicia of House Chakkri, to Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton.” Violet grabs the letter, this time with a smile.
***
Amelia usually does not do well with extended family. She has too many half siblings, most who ignored her existence or even hated her for being born- or being the daughter of the woman their father loves. However, she could say the Bridgertons are not bad for extended family. They are… Warm and welcoming, reminded her of her own mother.
Amelia was sipping her tea as she watched Hugo playing with Colin and Gregory, while Lynn was braiding Francesca’s hair while talking to Violet, Hyacinth, Eloise and Daphne, either about Felicia or the life of women in Siam. Without Amelia realising, her head started to tilt sideways and her eyes grew heavy. Not even a moment later Amelia was sleeping in the midst of the crowd.

“This is my first time seeing someone asleep like this,” Anthony commented disapprovingly. “To fall asleep in public like this-” “I would like you to refrain from publicly criticising Princess Amelia. She barely got any rest last night.” Lynn said from behind them. She quickly approached when she realised Amelia was asleep on one of the single sofas. Her arms and legs crossed as she slightly leaned to the right.
“So,  Amelia didn't sleep well last night? To be tired this early is quite concerning.” Benedict questioned with a slight head tilt. “I would love to say she did, but I can’t as her rest could barely be counted as sleep.” Lynn replied from behind Anthony, who frowned at the revelation, she could not possibly be that busy can she? But he is not sure by the constant bags underneath her eyes.
“What do you mean, surely she got some sleep right?” Benedict glanced at Lynn who hummed as she took a pillow to tuck beneath Amelia’s head. “If you count 2 hours of nap per day as sleep, then yes. I do not even remember the last time Milady slept on her own bed and not the sofa in her office.” Lynn glumly sighed, reminding herself to ask the servant in the embassy to clean the sofa, while they are out of town tomorrow.
“I heard the parliament meeting ended early yesterday?” Lynn asked Anthony, who nodded.
“It did, at 2 pm.” Lynn narrowed her eyes at him as she frowned in envy.
“Hugo, did you hear that?” Hugo turned around from teaching Gregory how to wrestle.
“I told you, the parliament meeting ended at 2 pm yesterday.” Lynn pointed at Anthony.
“How come?” Hugo asked Anthony, but it was Lynn who answered for him.
“Because Marquis Dolloway wanted to join our meeting. He is friends with Prince Edward. He probably wanted to come and ended the parliament meeting early after hearing we will be meeting with Russia for diamond mine dealings.” Hugo deadpanned.
“Really? Because of him our meeting ended at 1 am?” Lynn nodded, making Hugo cursed in Siamese.
“1 am? Did you all even sleep? Gosh, look at those bags under Amelia’s eyes.” Violet approached Amelia who was sleeping on the sofa, by this point everyone was paying attention to the conversation.
“We do, when we are able to, ma'am. I would say the Princess took the most toll. Her presence is needed in all the meetings so far.” Lynn second Hugo’s words.
“I am surprised she was able to think in all those meetings with approximately a total of 10 hours of sleep weekly. That is 1-2 hours of sleep daily.” Lynn and Hugo shook their heads as Violet gasped, dear lord, she is busier than any man she has ever known.
***
Amelia felt her body being shook and quite far away, she could hear faint voices calling her name. Instinctively, Amelia’s hand went underneath her pillow to search for her gun, yet she found none.
“If you are searching for your gun, we are not at home.” Lynn’s voice made her bolted right up. “Lynn, where are we?” Lynn gave her a look then sighed. Aside from the hair, everything else is fine.
“We are at the Bridgertons. You fell asleep for exactly 2 hours and 13 minutes. The dinner will start at 7.30 pm. There are still 17 minutes left, so I need to fix your hair.” Amelia groaned, feeling mortified. She fell asleep? In public? Buddha, help her.
“Wait- Where am I right now?” Lynn pulled Amelia up and made her sit at the edge of the bed as she started combing her hair. “This is one of the guest rooms. Now please do not move. We need to be quick.” Lynn quickly put her hair in previous hairstyle.
Tumblr media
“Alright. Hair is done, now the gloss.” Lynn focused on putting on the gloss, making it even and saturated naturally. Once she was done, she stepped back to analyse Amelia’s appearance and release the sigh she had been holding.
“Alright… You are done. And we still have 7 minutes to spare. Let’s go quick, oh- and your shoes are by the door.” Amelia nodded and quickly wore her shoes before following Lynn out of the room.
***
Benedict Bridgerton is a gentle soul, despite being the biggest in size compared to his brothers, he is practically a softie at heart. Looking at his cousin, Amelia who is 10 years younger than he is and looking extremely small and fragile makes him want to spoil her the way he did to his younger siblings.
“Excuse me, can you please pass the pepper?” Amelia quietly asked, eyes glancing up at him making it look bigger. “Sure,” Benedict gave her a smile and reached for the pepper. “Here you go.” Amelia replied to him with a smile and proceeded to sprinkle pepper on her food.
The whole night the Bridgertons were barraging the Siamese with questions until it was time for them to return as tomorrow they will depart at 5 am so they could arrive in Wales at 9 am.
***
Amelia wanted to curse. Sitting for a prolonged period of time in a carriage could do that to you. The United Kingdom does not have a 21st century woman who studied engineering as their princess, thus they have yet to develop a steam engine that works with transportation and mining, meaning? They have no transportation option aside from carriage, different from Siam, who established their railway system in 1810 developed by yours truly, Princess Amelia.
“Man, it’s really uncomfortable sitting in a carriage this long.” Hugo complained as he tried to move his hips, searching for a more comfortable position yet failing.
“Should we try? To create a deal with Britain for the railway system.” Amelia raised a brow at Hugo, who started to consider the idea in the midst of his suffering.
Not only are the Siamese in pain, they are also tired, sleepy and hungry. It was 8.28 AM in the morning, they had approximately half an hour to go before they arrived in Wales.
After constantly trying to sleep or reading, they finally arrived in Swansea, the capital city of Wales. During her time as Davika, she remembered reading that Swansea was sort of the capital city of Wales before it became Cardiff in 1955.
Even though Swansea is an agricultural centre, Wales will soon be a major urban centre especially for the steel and coal industry. Therefore, Amelia would like to dip her foot in it and be one of the first investors for the industry before it reached its pinnacle.
The Siamese first stop was the Inns for them to drop their luggages. Amelia will be sharing a room with Lynn and Hugo’s room is right next to them. Her lady maids will also be next door, just on the other side. Each 2 guards will share a room together making all the 6 guards separated in 3 rooms directly across Amelia’s.
“Does the Inn provide breakfast or have a restaurant? Or any restaurants near here that are open for breakfast?” Hugo asked, half lying on Lynn’s bed as she and the ladies maids sort Amelia’s luggage.
Amelia did not respond as she just lay down on her side of the bed about to fall asleep.
“I think I saw one nearby. Princess, you want to go?” Amelia only responded with a hum. Hugo turned to Lynn, eyes pleading and nodding to go so he can finally replenish his energy.
“We will be going in 15 minutes.” Lynn said to inform Amelia who gave her a thumbs up. Lynn told one of the ladies maids to inform the guards and for one of the guards to tell the coachman to get ready.
***
It was the third day they were in Swansea and they were doing pretty great with collecting vendors and convincing them to be under contract with the Siamese, specifically to work for Amelia’s other business ventures. What they did not expect was to see this person here, in one of the luxurious restaurants in Swansea.
Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, the fourth son of King George III and Queen Charlotte. Amelia has met him plenty of times, mostly to talk about work and be in the same meeting room together.
Amelia quickly turned around when her eyes saw him with another man, he is tall, fit with dark skin and short hair. Her eyes trailed at his outfit, noting all of them are personally tailored and well made. She knows a Prince’s social circle is filled with wealthy and well connected people, but the quality of his outfit really gave it away. He is either a Marquiss or a duke.
“Let’s go quickly.” Amelia whispered to her entourage, but unfortunately she was quickly spotted by him as he approached her.
“Why, I did not think I would meet you here in Swansea of all places, Princess Amelia.” He could not see her facial expression, but he knew she looked extremely annoyed. Amelia quickly fixed her business smile and turned towards him.
“My, my. If it isn’t Prince Edward. How are you doing, your highness?” Edward really wanted to laugh with how annoyed she looked, while his companion truly looked interested in the three foreigners. For the first time, someone who is not throwing themselves at him or the prince.
“I am doing well, Princess. I hope you are as well.” He took her glove clothed hand and kissed her on the knuckles. His companion could see the disgusted look behind her polite smile.
“Ah, alright. Well, we must go-” Her words were cut off as the prince lightly touched her by the elbow and turned her to face his table.
“May I introduce you to my friend? He was not present during your introduction in the parliament’s meeting nor on the debutante introduction.” He gestured at his friend who only smiled at her charmingly, yet Amelia could see that it was fake. Before Amelia was able to answer, the prince was already leading her to his friend.
“Simon, I would like to introduce you to the newest Siamese ambassador. Her Royal Highness, Princess Amelia Chaiya Kanika.” Amelia curtsy at him. “Nice to meet you.” She flashed him a business-like smile.
“Princess Amelia, this is my friend, His Grace, Lord Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings.” Like Amelia, the duke flashed him a fake charming smile and took her gloved hand in his, before he brought it to his lips. “Nice to meet you, Princess Amelia.” He was holding his laughter when he saw her eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
He noted that she discreetly tried to rub off the spot he kissed on her glove with her dress and his eyes met with Prince Edward who also saw what was going on.
“Let me also introduce you, my colleagues from Siam. This is Lord Channarong Aran Lamon, you may call him Hugo. Over here, his title is equivalent to a Marquess.” Hugo bowed his head as Simon did the same.
“And this is Lady Amara Busarakham Yontarak, you may call her Lynn. She came from what is equivalent to an earldom family.” Lynn did a quick curtsy as Simon sent her a charming smile, which she replied with a deadpan stare and a nod.
“Well, now that we are done-” Prince Edward cut off Amelia and pushed her on one of the vacant chairs and Lynn and Hugo followed suit.
“Why be a stranger, Princess? After plenty of meetings we attended, you can say that we are friends right?” Prince Edward poured scotch for Hugo and asked for 2 lemonades for the ladies.

IMPORTANT NOTESA/N: Hello, how are you guys? Thank You Very Much! Chapter 5: Oops
[D-7]
“What do you mean that Milady must attend the dinner with Bridgertons?” Lynn hissed in whispers as she followed Hugo into his office.
“This afternoon, during Lady Amelia’s lunch, she met with Viscount Bridgerton. Turns out ever since she gave them the letter they have been trying to reach her-” Hugo sat down on a cream coloured long L-shaped sofa and Lynn quickly occupied the single sofa in the same colour across from him.
“We all know the story about Lady Felicia running away to Siam so she can marry the King, but we never know her full name.” Hugo pointed out and Lynn started to connect the dots.
“Lynn, you did the investigation on the Bridgertons.” Hugo gave her a look.
“Lady Felicia is Felicia Bridgerton… The same one who ran away in 1790. That was also when she married the King.” Lynn breathed out her eyes zoned out, facing her fingers on her lap.
“Viscount Bridgerton showed me the letter from Lady Felicia. She wanted Lady Amelia to get along with the Bridgertons as they are her family here.” Lynn wanted to curse as this meant she needed to rearrange schedules, push back meetings and Lady Amelia needed to make an appropriate dress for a dinner invitation.
“Alright,” Lynn sighed.
“Just make sure to tell me when the invitation arrives. I still need to inform the seamstress.” She grumbled as Hugo nodded.
“Noted.” With that Lynn exited Hugo’s office and quickly went to hers. She has lots on her plate, but first she needs to write a letter to the seamstress.

[D-4]
Violet was ecstatic when she heard the news that Anthony managed to find a way to directly deliver the invitation to the ambassador. She decided the dinner will be in a week and with that she had a lot to do.
The first thing she did was to send a letter to her daughter Francesca and Hugo Bridgerton, Georgie Rokesby nee. Bridgerton and Billie Rokesby nee. Bridgerton, Edmund and Felicia’s siblings. Then she wrote the dinner invitation for Anthony to take directly to the embassy.
The dinner is 3 days from now and Violet is currently selecting the dinner menu, cutleries, chinas and flowers. First impression matters, especially if the person you are inviting is your niece who you will be meeting for the first time. Violet needs to make this work.
“Mother, we have received a reply from the ambassador’s lady-in-waiting.” Daphne walked into the drawing room with a letter in her hand. She thinks the Siamese are an extremely sweet and elegant bunch. They constantly replying the letters in a variety of coloured and scented papers. They also always send small gifts along with the letters, be it flowers, sweets or traditional Siamese desserts.
So far they have tried mango sticky rice, which were coincidentally sent during their dinner time the day Anthony delivered the invitation as a way to reply they received it well. Turns out they also sent something called Khanom Mor Kaeng, which they tried the next day during afternoon tea. Gregory and Hyacinth in particular adored the milky and sweet dessert. Today they sent the letter along with a spice box, which was expensive.
“Gosh, they are as generous as they are nice.” Daphne gasped as they opened the box.
“How rich are they? One spice is expensive enough—“ As a traveller, Colin knows how expensive imported goods are, especially spices and in the box there are at least 10 types of spices here and ones that are hard to find here in the West.
“It is settled, they will be here Saturday next week at exactly 4 pm.” Violet grinned, all giddy. She has been corresponding with Lynn, the lady-in-waiting about Amelia’s schedule and she has been extremely helpful with knowing what Amelia likes, what she can and cannot eat. Violet also appreciates Lynn's effort for asking about what her dedicated theme is going to be so she will be able to match Amelia’s clothes to it.
“4 pm? That’s early for a dinner invitation…” Daphne commented.
“I have been corresponding with Lady Lynn and she said after the dinner, Lady Amelia will depart to Wales for more or less a week.” Which means they could not be in contact with Amelia until she came back.
“I asked Lady Lynn if they could arrive earlier so we could get to know them better. 4 pm is the earliest they can come. If it’s up to me, I would want them to be here in the morning.” Violet huffed as she looked at the list of flowers.
“I hope we can get along. I am interested in Siam. Do you think I can visit them for my next trip, mother?” Colin asked as he grabbed a cookie from the snack platter.
“I would be delighted if you want to visit there, maybe you can visit Felicia.” She may not like her son to be away for so long, but if he wants to visit a country where his aunt resides she will be less worried.

[D-Day]
“Lynn, do explain to me again why I need to attend the Bridgertons’ dinner?” Amelia really does not want to socialise- no- that is not the word for it. The correct term would be Amelia sucked at socialising. Of course she can suck up to people if needed to, but the Bridgertons? Not only does she have no slightest clue what they want with her, but aside from the country’s politics, there is not a single overlapping relation between them.
“Princess, you have not accepted a single dinner invitation. This could potentially create an image that Siam is not a friendly country.” Lynn sighed as she buttoned Amelia’s white dress.
“The Bridgerton family is in the Queen’s good book, plus your mother knows them. Take it as ah- what did you call it? Publicity stunt. Now turn around, please.” Amelia turned around to face Lynn so she could inspect her look.
“Ah-Yeon, more gloss please.” Lynn told one of the ladies-maid, Ah-Yeon, who they saved and bought from her previously abusive master during her time as a slave in Joseon, now she is a free woman in Siam. Ah-Yeon used to cater her previous master’s beauty routine, from skincare and makeup and wanted to use her skill to serve Amelia.
“Done, you look absolutely beautiful, Princess Amelia.” Ah-Yeon complimented the Princess, someone who gave her freedom 8 years ago when she was brought by her former master, a travelling merchant, all those years ago to Siam. She was only 8 at the time, but she stood so tall and strong as she bought her freedom from him. Now she is all grown up and beautiful, doing wonderful things.
“Thank you, Ah-Yeon. You did a great job, as always.” Amelia smiled at Ah-Yeon as she gently squeezed the older’s forearm. Ah-Yeon wanted to cry, she did not know what she did to receive such a good master who not only saved her from an abusive life, but is willing to diplomatically engage and help her country in exchange to raise her standings if ever she decided to come back and marry.
“Magnificent job, Ah-Yeon, Minnie and Yun. Princess Amelia, we must depart now. We promised the Bridgertons to arrive by 4 pm. I have instructed for the flowers and gifts to be in the carriage.” Amelia sighed and nodded. After saying goodbye to her ladies maids and wearing her heels, Amelia is ready to go.
“Princess Amelia, you look beautiful as always.” Hugo bowed sincerely with a smile making Amelia chuckled.
“Thank you Hugo. You look fantastic.” Lynn shook her head at their antics, sometimes she asked if she was the oldest.
Throughout the ride, Lynn did a round of questions and answers on British etiquette. Fortunately Amelia was able to cram all of them between her schedules, but then again she was trained by her mother before she came to Great Britain, so it was only to refresh her mind.
“8 minutes to 4 pm.” Hugo checked the time on his pocket watch. Amelia stared at it weirdly.
“Remind me to find a watchmaker. Let’s get you and Lynn something easier, like a watch to wear on your wrist, therefore you do not need to carry that thing around. Abomination.” Hugo nodded with a sigh. He made a quick eye contact with Lynn, their master is up to something again.

Violet was freaking out, her niece is arriving any minute now. She kept checking the flowers, her children, everything.
“Mother, everything is fine and in order. I am sure the ambassador will be in awe.” Daphne tries to calm her mother down. They were waiting for the arrival of the Siamese. They still had 1 minute to spare when the footmen came to inform them of the Siamese’s arrival.
“The Siamese Ambassador, Lady Amelia, Marquis Hugo and Lady Lynn are here for the dinner invitation.” The footmen bowed as Violet quickly stood up and straightened her dress. The family went out to greet the Siamese who just arrived in the foyer.
They were still chatting in Siamese, therefore the Bridgertons did not know what they were talking about. Violet drew a sharp breath as her eyes landed on her, there is no mistaking that she is Lady Amelia, Felicia’s daughter. While her features are softer than what a British would have, she has Felicia’s eyes, nose and hair colour, chestnut. She is absolutely adorable in her all white attire, a very different fashion style as well.

The Bridgerton siblings were quickly enchanted by the different beauty they were giving. Aside from the fashion, they were still following the proper British norms. Especially the women who kept their hair in buns and made sure for the dress to be of an appropriate length.
The only difference was the style choices. The women here still wear dresses with excess fabric that created trains at the back, yet the Siamese women preferred to keep their dresses at the ankle for easy access and movements. They also cut the dress at the natural waistline, different from here that is 2 to 3 inches above it.
Their cousin is the most surprising. She is wearing a sheer buttoned up shirt underneath her dress, which is unseen or unheard of for women to wear something that is actually for men. Yet, it worked so well and made her look absolutely adorable and ethereal.

The Siamese were admiring the Bridgertons interior, which is absolutely different from their mansion taking on a more Japandi theme or Siamese style that is more bold and in-your-face with gold colours. Hugo was talking about their China vase and how he saw it in the Qing empire auction when he was accompanying Rama III, but soon stopped when he heard the faint footsteps of the Bridgertons.
“They are here.” Hugo informed both Lynn and Amelia as they nodded.
“We’ve realised, Hugo. Thank you.” Lynn replied snarkily as Amelia rolled her eyes at their constant bickering.
“Be prepared Princess, make sure you create a good first impression.” Lynn whispered as Amelia nodded.
Tumblr media
Slowly Amelia raised her head to see the Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton, Violet Bridgerton, descending from the stairs followed by her plethora of children.
“Lady Amelia, Lady Lynn and Marquis Hugo,” Violet greeted with a smile.
“Good afternoon Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton,” All three Siamese greeted back in unison. Amelia and Lynn did a curtsy, while Hugo bowed his head to the dowager of the Bridgerton family.
“Please, call me Violet. We are all Bridgertons here, it might get confusing.” Amelia nodded and with a charming smile she replied.
“Thank you for the generosity of inviting us to your residence, Lady Violet. It is a lovely house, I absolutely adore the colour palette of your home and the fresh winter rose is such a refreshing choice.” Violet’s cheeks gained a healthy flushed at the compliment. She decided that Amelia is such a sweetheart.
“If you do not mind, we have several gifts with us for your family.” Amelia gestured to the footmen from earlier as scrambled while carrying several stuff.
“Oh my, you do not have too. This is extremely generous of you, your grace, we even received gifts alongside your letters…” Violet trails as she watches gifts brought inside the house.
“Those are hardly gifts, Viscountess, merely propriety gestures.” The Princess shrugged her shoulders.
“Ah, please come to the drawing room.” Violet realised that they have been keeping their guests for far too long in the foyer. Violet in the front leading them to the drawing room. The Siamese trio was in the middle then quietly followed by the Bridgertons.
“As I told you in one of our correspondence, I did not tell Lady Amelia about it, so you or your mother will have to break the news.” Lynn whispered just loud enough for Anthony, the one who is next to her, to hear. He nodded curtly.
“Then we are going with the scenario we have discussed.” Lynn nodded before entering the drawing room. Soon they all settled down in the drawing room and the conversation went on tangents. For Amelia this conversation did not match up to her expectation as she thought the Bridgertons would like to form sort of a business-like relationship with the Siamese.
The conversation went on from talking about the difference of the weather between Great Britain and Siam, Lynn and Hugo asking the Bridgertons about which Siamese food they like the most out of the ones they have sent, even to Violet asking about the intricate flower arrangement, which apparently personally made by Amelia.
“Where did you learn such an intricate flower arrangement, Lady Amelia?” Violet asked which Amelia replied with a hum and an odd stare.
“Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton, may I ask you something frankly?” Violet blinked, but nodded, while Hugo, Lynn and Anthony tensed.
“You see, I was under the impression that one of you will try to strike a business deal with Siam, like any other families that sent me invitations” Amelia chuckled.
“But none of our conversation does not match up. None of it sounds like an ice breaking conversation that would lead to any business discussion.” Violet gaped at her words and Amelia knew no one except 3 people in that room was on the same page.
“Lady Amelia- I did not invite you for-” Violet whipped her head at her eldest son who in turn looked extremely guilty. This drew gasps from his siblings. I mean, what is worse than not knowing why you were invited?
“Anthony! Did you not tell her?” She hissed as he closed his eyes in frustration. Hugo and Lynn’s eyes met Amelia’s.
“He did not. He, however, told both Hugo and Lynn, who did not manage to inform me of this piece of information.” Her eyes are boring straight into them.
“Did you three conspire against me?” Hugo and Lynn’s eyes widened at Amelia’s question.
“Your grace- My son would never do such a thing!” Violet started.
“Milady! Of course not. We would never dare to-” Lynn looked hurt, especially being her Lady-in-Waiting for such a long time.
“Milady, conspire has such a negative connotation behind it. To conspire we need to do a harmful act-” Hugo started, which Amelia quickly cut through.
“And making me look foolish by showing up in someone’s home with a different idea in mind is not a harmful act? I want you two to remember. While I am here, I am the face of our country.” Amelia raised a brow as Hugo and Lynn’s face crumbled.
“Milady-” “Ah!” Amelia raised her forefinger in a motion for Hugo to stop talking.
“I am done hearing from the both of you. Now you.” Using the same forefinger, Amelia pointed at Hugo and Lynn, then at Anthony, who had not said a thing despite being as involved. Traitor.
“I want to hear it from you. Why are the three of you conspiring against me?” Anthony rolled his eyes, not liking her disrespectful tone. Especially coming from someone who could be more than 10 years younger than he is and a woman.
“Cease the dramatics, your grace. Yes, we did correspond with each other, but it was not to conspire. If you please check the content of this letter-” Anthony handed Amelia the letter she was so familiar with. She raised an eyebrow at him.
“So you did check it out in the end.” Amelia snatched the letter and took out the paper from the envelope.
“Dearest Violet Bridgerton and Edmund Brigerton. This is your beloved younger sister-” Amelia’s eyes going back and forth at Lynn and Hugo, trying to find faults and prove that they are lying. Unfortunately, Amelia found none, only an expression of guilt that they hid this from her.
“This is not some kind of cruel joke you played, is it?” Amelia questioned. Although it was not directed at anybody, everyone knows the question belongs to Lynn and Hugo.
“No, your grace,” Lynn answered, her voice low. Hugo only shook his head as an answer.
“Shit-” Amelia shook her head slowly as her eyes trailed on the rest of the letter.
Tumblr media
“Well…” Amelia slowly said. Her eyes shifted everywhere, but not meeting anyone’s eye. She was glad nobody made a sound because she truly needed the silence to think, but then again what was it to think about? The Bridgertons are her family from her mother’s side, that is the reality.
“Does that mean I need to start addressing you as Aunt Violet?” Amelia light brown eyes met with Violet’s, her head slightly tilted to the side. Hugo and Lynn let out a sigh, glad that Amelia is not mad they are keeping secrets and arranging this dinner.
“I- Only if you want to…” Violet let out a shaky breath as Amelia nodded slowly.
“Well, Aunt Violet does not sound bad at all.” She gave a smile and reached out to squeeze Violet’s hand. This made Violet break into a sob, especially after seeing the similarity between Amelia and Felicia’s smile.
“Oh- God-'' Before the Bridgertons could react, Amelia quickly launched herself and kneel next to Violet, cradling the older lady.
“Aunt Violet- are you alright?” Violet was trying to pull herself together.
“I am sorry- I am usually not this emotional, but You- you just looked so much like your mother. Lady Amelia, I-” Amelia rubbed Violet’s shoulder as she shook slightly.
“Ssh, just Amelia is fine, it’s okay. Let it out.” Amelia rocked Violet back and forth, still trying to calm the distressed woman. This, however, made Lynn extremely distressed. She grabbed Amelia by the forearm, trying to pull her upward.
“Lady Amelia, what are you doing?” Lynn hissed as Amelia struggled against her.
“Calming a person down,” Amelia gave Lynn a confused look.
“You can do that while sitting on the sofa, not kneeling on the floor. You are a Princess, Her Royal Highness, Princess of Siam. You are not supposed to kneel.” Lynn desperately tries to pull Amelia up, not realising the gasp resounding in the room, or that they are speaking in English.
“It’s fine as long as father does not know.” Amelia frowned at Lynn.
“You are able to skip personal reports to your father, but I am unable to skip a report to your father the King. So please, for the life of me get up-” Hugo interrupted her ramblings.
“Ookay. Princess, you and Lynn lost 200 pounds to me.” Hugo said, trying to lighten the mood.
“For what?” Amelia raised an eyebrow before Hugo pointed at the people in the room. Amelia and Lynn looked around to see the shocked faces of the Bridgertons.
“I am pretty sure Lady Lynn just outs you as a Princess.” Colin chirped helpfully. This made Amelia and Lynn realise that they have been conversing in English. Slowly they looked back at Hugo, all colours drained from their faces.
“Oops…” Hugo gave them a reprimanding look, but he was also holding in a laugh.
“Yes. Oops…” He finally lets out a laugh.

Chapter 4: Dearest Violet,
Anthony woke up to the buzzing noises of his siblings downstairs. He decided to get ready and face the source of the noise. Unfortunately for him, once he opened the drawing room, the voices got even louder.
“Well, there he is. Anthony, the man who captured the heart of Siam’s new ambassador.” Benedict said, chuckling. He approached his older brother and threw his arm across Anthony’s shoulder.
“Captured whose heart? Surely you jest, brother.” Anthony scoffed at the reminder of the ambassador. “Really? Who got home riding a carriage with a Siamese flag? She asked her closest adjutant to keep you company back home, and now she sent flowers and sweets. You tell me you are not being wooed by the ambassador, brother?” Anthony looked confused.
“Flowers and what?” Anthony looked flabbergasted. He sure hoped Hugo was right that the ambassador has no romantic intention towards him. “Over there, Anthony.” Daphne said pointing at the simple yet elegant flower arrangement in a basket, which is new.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usually it was using a vase of bouquet. Below were several boxes of sweets from a rather popular store. Anthony broke free of Benedict’s hold and approached the gift.
“Gosh, Anthony, is it true? Are you being wooed by the new ambassador?” Violet gushed, it may be progressive, for a woman to woo a man and send gifts, but maybe her son can finally find a suitable woman for himself. Anthony hummed as he grabbed the envelope inside the basket. He took out the card only for it to say a simple ‘Sorry’- Siam’s Ambassador. A.C.K.
“I don’t think I am, mother.” Anthony turned around with a grin and he held up the card to his mother’s eye level. “‘Sorry’... What is she sorry for, brother?” Eloise popped out behind her mother. “Probably yesterday. She asked her adjutant to pick me up because she wanted to meet me. I can’t say it was a pleasant experience.” Anthony explained as he proceeded to open the sweet boxes. It was filled with all sorts of tarts, choux and pies, when his eyes caught another letter inside the box.
He took the letter out of the envelope. Inside was a beautifully written letter in cursive.
Dear Viscount Bridgerton,
How are you today? I hope you are fine and so is the rest of your family. This letter will be a short one.
Yesterday I was too focused on handing you the letter, which I hope you have given to your mother along with the necklace.
I know it has been years since the tragedy, but I would like to offer my condolences over the passing of the former Viscount Bridgerton, Edmund Bridgerton. Please offer my condolences to your mother as well.
As a peace offering from my mishaps and the lack of courtesy on our part yesterday, I hope you will accept the boxes of sweets.
I wish you a good day.
Sincerely,
Amelia Chaiya Kanika
“Mother.” Anthony calls out his mother who is gushing on the flower arrangement along with Daphne and Hyacinth. Eloise, Colin, Benedict and Gregory were already looking at the selection of sweets.
“Yes, dear?” Violet turned towards her eldest son who cleared his throat before passing his mother the letter. The dowager viscountess took the letter and started reading. She did not know who this ambassador was, but she could feel that she is a great person if she would take time to write a letter to offer her condolences and even bearing gifts.
“Well, the new ambassador is surely a sweet person.” Violet smiled, but tears pooled her eyes before Daphne went to hug her mother and Eloise took the letter. She read it for a bit and turned to Anthony.
“Brother, why is the ambassador giving mother a letter and necklace?” Anthony let out a small ‘Ah’ as Violet looked at her son. “Right, there was something about a letter and necklace in the letter. What is that Anthony?” The eldest son took his mother’s hand and led her to sit on the sofa. This was followed by the rest of his siblings.
“Yesterday, the ambassador asked to meet me because of an order she received from the Siamese Royal Family.” The family was confused, especially because she has no relation with anyone from Siam.
“Mother, the ambassador handed me a letter and a necklace asking me to deliver it to you or father. She said the Royal member who asked to search for you was Felicia. No last name was given.” Violet gasped as she shook slightly. Felicia, that was a name she has not heard in a really long time. She finally remembered the Siamese boy they met in the summer of 1786. Back then Siam just opened the embassy, it was one of the very first years of British-Siam relationships.
“Anthony. The necklace…” Violet’s voice trembled “You said there was a necklace? Can you please fetch it for me? I need to confirm something.” Anthony was concerned, but nodded. “Alright. I will go grab it.” As he went out of the drawing room, he could see his mother trying to control her breathing with Daphne and Benedict trying to calm their mother.
Anthony quickly fetched the letter and necklace he left on his bedside table and returned to the drawing room.
“Mother, this is the letter and necklace given to me by the ambassador.” With shaking hands, Violet took the familiar necklace and broke into a heartbreaking sob.
“Mother-” Everyone was concerned for their sobbing mother. The last time she was like this probably during their father’s funeral.
“She is alive, oh my god. This necklace was hers.” Everyone’s eyes were meeting everyone, but no one knew what to do as they did not know what happened. They decided to just let their mother cry it out until she has calmed down enough to talk. While waiting, they rubbed the matriarch’s shoulders and backside to let her know they were there.
“Haa…” Violet sighed, her face was red and a mess from all the sobbing and crying she had done the past 10 minutes. “Did you feel better?” Daphne asked, still rubbing her mother’s back. “Yes, thank you dear. Anthony, could you please pass me the letter.” Violet outstretched her hand without needing to look in his direction. “Here, mother.” Anthony placed the letter on her palm.
Violet looked at the envelope and traced the familiar handwriting. This is Felicia’s handwriting. She opened the letter and she could not help the tears that fell from her eyes.
Dearest Violet Bridgerton and Edmund Brigerton,
This is your beloved younger sister, Felicia Bridgerton. How are you all faring? I bet by this point brother Edmund is fuming. I am doing well in Siam and I hope you all are also well in Great Britain.
Brother Edmund, I apologise for running away from Great Britain, but I know I will not be happy if I settle for someone I do not love. After seeing you with Violet, I decided to chase after the man I love, you all know him. Chim, the boy who visited the Siamese embassy all the time back in 1786. Violet, I must thank you and apologise for using you to hold off brother the day I escaped.
Chim and I, we got married in 1790, right after I arrived in Siam and 6 years later were blessed with 2 beautiful kids, Amelia and Vernon. I believe you have met my daughter, Amelia. She is currently representing Siam in Great Britain as an Ambassador. She may look cold, but I assure you she is the sweetest child. Attentive and sensitive as well.
Violet, if I may burden you and sister Billie with a request. Right now Amelia is without a family in Great Britain. It broke my heart to have to send her away so young to fulfil her duty to her country. If you both can please become a family for her and guide her about the British Society. There is nobody I trust more about this than the both of you.
I promise that Amelia will be nothing more than sweet and kind. I assure you I will visit Great Britain as soon as possible. Let us meet then.
With all my love,
Felicia.
Violet’s tears were dripping once again as she read the letter again and again. She is alive. Her childhood friend Felicia is alive and not only that she is married. Lord, the ambassador! She is Felicia’s daughter, which means she is her niece!
“Anthony!” Violet’s tone made him perk up. “Where is the ambassador’s residence? We must invite her here immediately.” Anthony frowned at the question. “I do not know, mother. Why do we need to… See her?” Violet handed him the letter, which quickly got him surrounded by his siblings who are dying to see the contents of the letter.
“She is the child of your father’s younger sister. Felicia Bridgerton-” Gasped erupted from her children. “She ran away in 1790 to chase that Siamese man, Chim.” Violet shook her head in disapproval. “She is the reason why your father always told you all to protect your sisters, so she will not pull a move like Felicia and run away to another country.” Eloise laughed at this. “This aunt Felicia sounds like a fun person.” Violet groaned as she remembered all of Felicia’s naughtiness.
“You are the splitting image of Felicia, Eloise.” Eloise eyes sparkled at this. “How about our new found cousin, brother? How was she? You met her yesterday!” Now Eloise is extremely interested in their cousin, but not only her, Violet too wanted to know about her niece.
“You will definitely like her, Eloise. At the age 13 she persuaded the King and Heir Apparent of Siam to establish an education law that allows all genders, male and female, to receive fundamental rights to education. She even explained the reasoning behind it and why it was necessary for women to receive education if they want the country to strive.” Anthony sighed as Eloise’s eyes sparkled.
“How interesting! I must meet this new cousin of mine! Clearly she is an intellectual. When will we contact her?” “Back to our question yesterday brother-” Colin slipped into the conversation. “Was she as gorgeous as rumoured? The gentlemen in the club said she was an exotic beauty, many people attending yesterday’s meeting were enchanted by her introduction.” Anthony was reluctant to answer Colin’s question.
“Considering enough people were enchanted by her presence alone I would guess she is.” He thought it was quite a diplomatic answer, but of course they are not satisfied with that answer. “But what do you think? Is she as gorgeous as rumoured?” “I expected her to be, Felicia was the diamond of her year.” Violet quipped before turning to face her eldest son. “So, was she?” Anthony sighed, he knew there’s no end to this so he just nodded.
“Yes. The new ambassador is indeed gorgeous. She looked like a walking gold statue, adorned in gold from head to toe.” Benedict, Colin and Daphne chuckled while Hyacinth got excited. “Was she, brother? Adorned in gold from head to toe?” She bounced excitedly.
“She was, from her head-piece, jewelleries, down to her shoes.” Anthony nodded in confirmation before turning to his mother. “It seems aunt Felicia was married to a Siamese equivalent of duke. Lady Amelia’s adjutant introduced her as coming from a dukedom family.” At least her childhood friend is living well, she has to if she went all the way to another country, Violet thought as a smile formed on her face.
“So, do you not know where her residence is located?” Anthony shook his head, looking quite guilty for not bothering to ask. “Then we can only send a letter to the embassy.” Daphne sighed. “Well, at least we have a way to reach her.” Violet was quite satisfied with that.
***
Unfortunately, reaching the ambassador was proven to be hard as Amelia filtered her mail and only accepted work related mail and those coming from Siam. It has been 9 days and Violet has grown restless. She wants to see her niece from her husband’s younger sister, from her childhood friend. Even more so as stated in the mail, they are her only family aside from her entourage from Siam.
“Do you think we can set up a meeting with the embassy instead?” Daphne tried giving ideas. “And what would the meeting be about? I have even tried to ask if the ambassador would accept a personal meeting, but her schedule is full.” Anthony shook his head.
***
A miracle to reach Amelia came a week later when Violet was talking to Lady Agatha Danbury about this while they were taking a promenade together in the park.
“Lady Danbury, do you remember Felicia Bridgerton?” Violet said, she purposefully kept her voice low incase anyone would hear. Lady Danbury’s eyebrow rose as she recalled the brunette little rascal of a lady. “Of course I remembered her. That little rascal.” The old lady sighed and shook her head. “I remember the day she ran away and we never saw her again.” Violet looked around to make sure nobody was paying attention and slipped the letter from Felicia in Lady Danbury’s palm.
The old lady raised a brow and took out the letter from the envelope. She gasped as she read the writer of the letter. She turned towards Violet who gave her a smile and a nod.
“Did you try to contact her? The new ambassador?” Lady Danbury whispered as Violet sighed and nodded. “We did, but unfortunately there was no response and her schedule was full. We also never see her nor her attendants around the town.” Lady Danbury stared at her friend. “The new ambassador was often seen around Foreign Office in Westminster and The Buckingham Palace to have meetings with the Prince Regent.” Violet looked grateful at the information.

It was two days after Violet received the information that Anthony met Amelia in Foreign Office. It was purely by coincidence. He was just done with the parliament meeting and Amelia was in one of the benches outside, eating a sandwich as a quick lunch. She was out of Siamese traditional clothing and opted for a dress, but a different style from theirs.

She was wearing a purple dress that fit on the top part and starting from the waist it flared out into an A-skirt. The dress stopped above her ankle, which was fortunately covered by her stockings and boots. The dress went all the way to her neck fully covering her bust area and it was decorated with a single diamond brooch just in the middle of her collarbone.
Her hair was up in a bun with no decoration. Aside from the brooch, her only jewellery is her earrings. She looked extremely different from the woman in gold he saw in the parliament meeting.
“Lady Amelia.” He called out as he approached her. The ambassador only looked up from the document she was reading on her other hand.
“Viscount Bridgerton.” She greeted Anthony, all lukewarm. Like the last time, she looked extremely tired. There were bags under her eyes and her skin complexion was pasty. Her eyes held no emotion due to her tiredness. He felt bad considering how young she was, she could not be more than 20 years old.
“May I join you?” Anthony pointed at the empty spot next to her. Amelia gives the spot a side glance and contemplates for 5 seconds before nodding. “Go ahead.” Anthony nodded and sat down while Amelia returned to reading her document.
“Lady Amelia,” Anthony started, to which she only replied with a hum. “I would like to thank you for the flowers and sweet treats. My family enjoyed it and appreciate your condolences letter” Amelia nodded. “I’m glad they enjoyed it. I hope it did not send the wrong message.” Anthony did not want to tell her that it did. For a whole 10 minutes his family actually thought the woman next to him was trying to woo him.
“I handed my mother the letter and necklace.” Anthony started, his eyes squinting from the direct sunlight. “Thank you. You helped me finish the mission given by the Royal Family. I will make sure to send you a gift as thanks.” Anthony did not reply and silence enveloped them.
“Lady Amelia. Did you know the content of the letter?” Amelia shook her head, but her eyes glued on the documents. “No, I did not. I’m afraid unlike a certain someone, I am not interested in checking someone else’s letter.” Well, ouch. Anthony knew it was rude of him to check on a letter addressed to his mother, but she did not have to bring it up like that.
“Well, it turned out the sender of the letter was an old friend of my mother. They have not talked in over 20 years, so you delivering the letter to our family was a miracle for her.” Anthony turned to look at Amelia. “Lady Amelia, my mother would like to invite you for dinner as a way to properly thank you-” “Please tell Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton that a simple thank you would suffice. I delivered the letter as a mission received from the Royal Family, unfortunately I think it is unnecessary to go through such length inviting me to dinner.” Amelia sighed and set down her documents.
“Princess- Oh. Viscount Bridgerton.” Hugo bowed his head politely and Amelia stood up from the bench. “Hugo, you do not have to follow me. I am meeting Lynn after this to have tea with Lord Adelheid and his wife. He wanted to talk about the silk trade with the Qing Empire. It will be boring for you.” Hugo nodded. “Of course, Milady.” With that Amelia disappeared back inside the building, her entourage carried her half eaten sandwich and stacks of papers.
“Viscount Bridgerton.” The Hugo in front of him was different from the one he met last time. Despite still wearing a smile, it brought chills down his spine. “Marquis Hugo.” Anthony warily greeted.
“I would say it is not everyday I see you. I hope your statement last time is still true.” Anthony looked confused, which statement was Hugo asking about. “How old are you? 29? 30? I hope you will not approach Lady Amelia with romantic intention as she is only 16 years old.” Anthony choked on his own spit. One of the ambassador’s closest attendant and adjutant thought he was approaching her romantically.
“Marquis Hugo. I have no such intention with the ambassador-” Hugo raised an eyebrow at his words. “Truly. I was only-” “Brother!” Both Hugo and Anthony turned to see Colin waving at them.
“Colin, what are you doing here?” Anthony asked when Colin was close enough. “I was meeting up with Earl Sutcliffe about the possible business I told you about last week.” Colin's eyes travelled to Hugo who gave him a polite smile and nod.
“Colin, let me introduce you. This is Marquis Hugo from Siam. He is here with the new ambassador.” Anthony introduced Hugo. “Marquis Hugo, this is my younger brother, Colin Bridgerton.” “Nice to meet you, Lord Bridgerton.” Then it clicked with Colin. The Marquis works with the ambassador and she is his cousin.
“Brother! You found the ambassador-” “Col-” “Mother must be ecstatic now you found her niece and our cousin. So, did you tell her about the dinner invitation?” Colin kept rambling and Anthony did not even have the time to intercept what he was saying.
“Viscount Bridgerton…What do you mean by cousin?” Hugo's eyes widened. His polite smile dropped. Anthony sighed before he casted a glare at his younger brother who was confused.
“Wait- You have not told them yet?” Colin frowned as his brows furrowed. “I was getting into that, Colin.” Anthony hissed before he turned towards the Marquis.
“Look. We also just found out about it. The reason why you were searching for Edmund Bridgerton was because Felicia is my father’s younger sister, making her my aunt-” Anthony rummaged through his pocket and took out the letter he borrowed from his mother, in case he met Amelia today. “Look. This was the letter.” Hugo took the letter with uncertain eyes as his breath hitched when he read the content of the letter.
“Look, I was not lying and I am not trying to pursue Lady Amelia in any way.” Anthony took back the letter and folded it back before putting it in his pocket.
“I mean- I guess it made sense. Lady Felicia looked a lot like your younger sister, uh–” Hugo scrunched his face as he put in effort to remember the little lady’s name. “Eloise?” Colin filled in helpfully and Hugo snapped his fingers. “Yes! Her! I was surprised when I saw a miniature Lady Felicia.” Hugo then came to a realisation.
“Have you informed Lady Amelia about this?” Anthony shook his head. “I do not know how I should break this to her. I mentioned the dinner, but she rejected it.” Hugo hummed, Amelia rather hates socialising, so he could see her rejecting the invitation if not needed.
“Then I will tell Lynn about it. She will be able to slip this in Milady’s schedule. If you could please send a formal invitation to the embassy and attach this business card. It will be delivered directly to my office and thus will not be filtered out.” Hugo handed them a small card with his name in Roman alphabet and below in South East Asian, Siamese abugida, embossed in golden colouring.
“Thank you, Marquis Hugo.” His mother can finally rest without thinking on a way to reach the new ambassador. Anthony and Colin shook hands with Hugo before he went inside the Foreign Office to gather several documents Amelia would need.

Thank You Very Much! Much Love, Cinnamon Meilleure's Writing Room

Chapter 3. Return
Twenty three years…
That was how long it has been for them.
Since they last saw her, hear from her.
As if it was a nightmare from yesterday, they remember as if it was yesterday. July of 1790 when they discovered their dear daughter, only daughter… Felicia ran away, and disappeared to god knows where.
They searched for her, everywhere in the country, and around Europe and America for about a year, but no result. Not until now, written on two pieces of papers is a letter from their dear daughter Felicia.
“Oh my god… Dear–” Abigail, the Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh traced the words on the letter with trembling fingers, and eyes full of tears. Her husband, William, caught her fingers in his arms, and brought it to his lips, kissing it softly. He is as well, emotional, as tears fill his eyes.
“Yes love… A piece of news from Felicia, our little bunny…” By this point William did not care if his beloved daughter eloped, he was just glad that she was alive, well, and happy. This is the third time the husband and wife re-read the letter as Felicia told them about her marriage to the King of Siam, and becoming the Royal Consort, gave birth to two children, her eldest, a son, Somdet Chao Fa Gan Sirichai Tanawat, and her youngest, a daughter, Somdet Chao Fa Apsara Chaiya Kanika.
“Abby, my love… We need to reach out to the Queen, and contact the ambassador-” The Duke quickly got up from the sofa they were seated, and to his study to write a letter to the Queen so they could reach Siam’s Ambassador to Great Britain.
***
Siam’s Ambassador to Great Britain is currently pacing back and forth in her office, clenching her fists hard in order to prevent picking on her skin, which could damage the aesthetic of her hands.
God– Amelia really wants to throw herself off a cliff. What in the actual fuck is going on? How in the 7th circle of Hell did she ended up in the middle of bum-fuck Bridgerton series. Right now is 1813, so Daphne’s season. It has been almost 20 years since she thought about that series! When Amelia retrieved her memories after her death, never in her life would she thought her fucking attachment to that series is important.. Until now!
“Goddamn Davika-” Amelia sat herself on the sofa in her office as she ran her fingers in her hair, devastated. “Dear Ganesha, give me luck and wisdom for this new beginning. Lord, give me strength.” A plan. She needs a plan, and a timeline of the series, and most of all, staying away from the Bridgerton clan all together. Amelia stood up and went to her desk, grabbing several papers and a pen.
“Let’s list down several things… I am currently in the 1st Bridgerton series, which features Phoebe Dynevor who played Daphne Bridgerton and Rege-Jean Page who played the Duke of Hastings.” Amelia mumbled as she wrote on the paper.
“It’s still February, so I have two months until the start of the series. Now, let’s think about what happened, Davika. You can do it… Daphne and Penelope made their debut…Then the… Featherington cousin, what’s her name? Came to London… Anthony kept being a nitpicking bastard, which led to Daphne not gaining any suitors and that’s where Nigel Berbrooke came in.” Amelia wrote on the paper before it stopped as she thought about what else happened throughout Season 1.
“Simon came to London and got roped into the whole ball. That’s how he met Daphne-” Amelia’s brows furrowed in an attempt to remember what else happened. “How did they striked the deal again? And- That prince… When will he show up again– Wait a minute… The plot only revolves around Bridgerton, and people close to them…” Amelia mumbled, “If I don’t get near them, I will not get dragged into it…” A smile spread on her face as she placed down her pen. “Let’s do that. Avoid the main cast as much as possible.” Amelia walked back to the sofa and sat down, sighing in contempt.
***
Queen Charlotte’s brow furrowed as she focused on the letter in her hand. Apparently this is the same letter she sent to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh four days ago from the King of Siam through the Siam Ambassador to Great Britain.
“We searched for her high and low here, in Europe, and in America… Who could have thought that fickle nephew of mine ran away to Siam.” The Queen sighed, feeling a headache surging at the thought of her sweet nephew, Felicia. Charlotte opened her eyes, and directed her gaze at her brother-in-law and his wife sitting in front of her.
“My Queen, sister… I beg for your assistance to connect us with the ambassador who brought this letter… We need to know more about how our dear Felicia is faring, and if there is a chance for us to meet…” Amongst all of her husband’s siblings, Charlotte is most fond of William, he is frail and soft-hearted by nature, so watching him whimper for any way to connect back to his daughter is very heart-wrenching for her.
“Of course, we will contact Lady Chakri right away. Brimsley–” In a second, the Queen’s assistant, a plump middle aged man with dark hair, was at her side. “Yes, Your Majesty.” Brimsley greeted, ready to serve the Queen. “Send a letter to the Siamese Embassy. I would like to ask for a meeting with her as soon as possible, one that involves both Siam and Great Britain.” Brimsley nodded, and disappeared as quickly as he appeared.
***
Amelia and Hugo were in the middle of a meeting with a new Duke, Simon Hastings, replacing his father who is on his death-bed, when Lynn burst into the room unannounced, looking rather distraught.
“Apologies, Your Grace.” Lynn curtsied to Simon before turning to Amelia. “Milady, we received an urgent call from Buckingham Palace. The Queen requested an immediate audience with you.” This alarmed Amelia who quickly stood up from her chair. It is impossible for her to screw up this early, it’s not even a week yet since she arrived in Great Britain.
“Your Grace, I apologise for cutting our meeting short, but I think it is best if we resume another time.” Simon nodded and stood up. “Alright, I hope everything goes well, Lady Chakri. Do send me a letter when you are available to resume our discussion.” Simon exits the room after exchanging a quick greeting with Lynn, and Hugo.
Lynn, Amelia, and Hugo exchanged a look before they all took a seat in the meeting room, no one would like to enter a battlefield without any sort of plan. “We made no mistakes. It is way too early to create any at all.” Amelia firmly stated, which Hugo and Lynn agreed to.
“Was it one of the Princes?” Lynn speculated based on the debate between Amelia and Prince Frederick five days prior to today. Amelia furrowed her brows, well shit… Could be, but really? It is childish to burn down a bridge over mutual debate, and the Prince Regent and Queen know they are not in the position to declare another war when they are still in war with Napoleonic Wars with the French, War of 1812 with Americans, Peninsular War with Portuguese and Spanish, and Gurkha War with Nepalese, so the most they would demand is an apology, which she could demand back.
“I don’t know, I don’t think this is due to the debate. If it is, they should realise that Prince Frederick started it first. On top of that, I do not think they would sacrifice their relationship with us, Siam is the only neutral land between Great Britain and France.” Amelia hopes so, but if not then what else? Back then she only had a debate, had tea with the Queen, saw her garden and peacock collections and- That damned letter!
“The letter…” Amelia uttered quietly, but Lynn and Hugo were able to pick up what she said. “The one from the King?” Lynn asked, uncertain, but Amelia nodded. “That’s the only unknown equation left. The only thing unknown to us, and the most possible to cause this chaos.” Amelia stood up, followed by Hugo and Lynn. They have taken too long, it’s time to face the music.
***
“Welcoming Lady Amelia Chakri, Lady Lynn Yontarak, and Lord Hugo Lamon.” They were declared as they were escorted inside the gazebo in the park. The three Siamese could see the Queen with two other people, a man and a woman, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh Amelia presumed.
“Your Majesty,” Amelia and Lynn curtsies, and Hugo bowed his head in respect, before they all turned to the other two occupants in the gazebo. The Queen quickly hopped in to introduce them to the Siamese.
“Lady Chakri, I apologise for summoning you urgently, however, I would like you to meet Prince William Henry and his wife, Princess Abigail nee. Bridgerton, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh.” The Duke and Duchess smiled at the three youngsters from the foreign nation.
“Nice to meet you, Your Grace. I am the current Minister Plenipotentiary, and Ambassador of Siam to Great Britain, Amelia Chakri, and these are my co-workers, Lady Lynn Yontarak who handles the Public Affairs Section, and Lord Hugo Lamon, the Head of Office of Defense Cooperation.” The three Siamese quickly greeted the two, who smiled at the show of respect, and perfect mannerism.
After the introduction, the three Siamese joined the British Royals in the gazebo, being served tea and snacks. It did not take long after they settled down for the questions to launch off.
“Lady Chakri, the letter given by the King of Siam… Were you aware of the content?” The Queen questioned Amelia who sipped her tea, and placed it silently on the saucer. “Unfortunately, I haven't a clue on the content of the letter as the King handed me the letter when I was reporting on the day of my departure. I presumed that during his stay in Great Britain he made… a precious bond?” The Duke slammed his fist on the table.
“Precious bond? Your King seduced my daughter and took her away with him–” The Duke almost shouted, but was quickly reprimanded by the Duchess and The Queen. “Dear!” “Your Grace!” Amelia choked on her scone at the exclamation. “Pardon me? Your Grace–That is a serious accusation you made against my country and my King.” Queen Charlotte could feel the surging of a headache. William’s temper could potentially cause a rift, and problems between the two countries; which is the last thing they need.
“Lady Chakri, I apologised for his fumes, but please read the letter from your King– This will help to explain the situation.” Duchess Abigail handed Amelia the same leather pouch with Rattanakosin emblem on it. Amelia eyed the pouch, before eyeing the Duchess. This might be a rude gesture, but as the Ambassador whose country’s name has been besmirched by the Duke, this is a defence, and not an offence.
Amelia took the pouch while maintaining a sharp eye contact with the Duchess, only breaking it to unbox the pouch, and get the letter inside.
My Dearest Mother and Father,
It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I finally sit down to write to you after twenty-three long years of silence. The weight of time has been both a burden and a blessing, shaping me into the woman I am today, far removed from the young princess you once knew.
It feels like a lifetime ago that I first met Rama II, the Crown Prince of Siam, in the hallowed halls of the Siamese embassy in Britain. The moment our eyes met, I knew that my fate was sealed, that my heart belonged to him and him alone. Little did I know then that our love would set into motion a series of events that would lead me far from the comforts of home and into the unknown depths of a foreign land.
In 1790, I made the decision to leave behind everything I had ever known and journey to Siam to be with Rama, to embrace a future that was uncertain but filled with promise. The journey itself was fraught with danger and uncertainty, and there were many moments when I questioned the wisdom of my decision. But love, dear Mother, love has a way of blinding us to the realities of the world, filling our hearts with hope and our minds with dreams of a brighter tomorrow.
The wedding, Mother, oh, the wedding was a spectacle unlike anything I had ever seen before. The palace grounds were alive with the sounds of music and laughter, and the air was filled with the intoxicating scent of flowers and incense. As I walked down the aisle to meet my beloved at the altar, I felt as though I was floating on air, my heart overflowing with love and joy.
But beneath the surface, there was a sadness that lingered, a sense of loss that gnawed at my soul. For you see, dear Mother, despite the grandeur of the occasion, I could not shake the feeling of being an outsider, of not truly belonging in this foreign land. The Siamese court did not recognize me as queen due to my foreign birth, bestowing upon me instead the title of Royal Consort, a position that carried with it both honour and humility.
The years that followed were a whirlwind of emotions, a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. In 1792, our son, Gan Sirichai Tanawat, came into the world, a precious gift that filled our lives with laughter and love. The birth was a joyous occasion, celebrated with feasting and merriment throughout the kingdom. And in 1796, our family was blessed once again with the arrival of our daughter, Apsara Chaiya Kanika, a radiant presence that brought light to even the darkest of days.
But amidst the joys, there was also sorrow, dear Father, a deep and abiding sorrow that gnawed at my soul. I found myself adrift in a sea of unfamiliar customs and traditions, struggling to find my place in a land that was so different from my own. The language was foreign to my ears, the mannerisms strange and perplexing, and the climate unforgiving in its intensity.
There were moments, dear Mother, when I longed for the warmth of your embrace, for the guidance and wisdom that only a mother can provide. I missed the familiar comforts of home, the laughter of family gatherings during the holidays, and the simple pleasures of life that I had once taken for granted. But through it all, I have found solace in the love of my dear husband and our two beautiful children. They are my rock, my anchor in a sea of uncertainty, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
My dear parents, I beg of you, do not hate me for the choices that I have made, for the path that I have chosen to walk. Know that I love you both with all my heart, and that not a day goes by that I do not think of you and the family that I left behind. Though the distance between us may be great, the bonds of love that bind us together remain unbroken, and I pray that one day, we may be reunited and that the pain of our separation may be eased by the embrace of our love.
With all my love and longing,
Felicia
Amelia wanted to bash her head to the nearest concrete as she could feel the surging migraine. She pinched her nose bridge, and let out a sigh as she passed the letter for both Lynn and Hugo to read.
Damn, her parents are really out to get her ain’t they? To top it off– Sending a letter to her mom’s parents, her grandparents??
“I’m sorry, but I’ll be frank and ask this out front. What is your point in showing us this letter?” Amelia folded the letter, and put it back neatly in the pouch, handing it back to the Duchess. “Reading this letter, it is different from your claim, Your Grace. In fact Somdet Chao Khun Phra Felicia walked out of the country with her own two feet, without any force from Siam, or the King.” Despite the honesty, her words angered the Duke. Amelia could see steam coming out of his ears as his face reddened.
“How dare–” “Exactly, Sir. How dare you to mock our King, and our country in front of its Minister Plenipotentiary, when you yourself know the truth behind the situation. The letter clearly said that Somdet Chao Khun Phra Felicia decided to leave Great Britain to marry King Rama II on her own free will without force from any parties involved.” Amelia intercepted, which shocked everyone, even Hugo and Lynn.
Prince William was about to retaliate, but was stopped by Queen Charlotte who raised her hand with her palm open in a stop motion.”Let us cease the hostility, shall we? If possible, I would like to continue our discussion without damaging the relationship between our countries.” The Queen gave Prince William a hard stare, which made him back down from any rebuttal he had.
The Duchess fidgets in her seat, and in her silence Amelia decides to analyse both of her grandparents. While mostly her mother got her colours and structures from her grandmother, her smile is definitely inherited from her grandfather.
Amelia understood their frustration, although she couldn’t relate to the pain they felt, imagine waking up on a random morning to find out that your only daughter, who is also your only child, escaped in the middle of the night like a band of thieves. Amelia composed herself, this ain’t her… She rarely lost her temper, but the fact that this whole thing just feels like a set up by her parents, now she has to deal with her grandparents and their grief of losing their only child, keeping her identity down-low, and managing the relationship between Siam and Great Britain. Amelia heaved a sigh. Be the bigger person Amelia.
“Your Grace–” All the three British nobles perked up and turned to Amelia. “Look, it would be a lie to say I understand the pain of losing a child-” Looking that they are listening thoroughly, Amelia continued with her controversial opinion. “However, this situation has been more than 20 years ago, and the decisions were made without coercion from any Siamese party. Honestly, if it were a year or two after this situation happened, Siam may be able to do something, but what once was Princess Felicia of Great Britain is now the high ranking Royal Consort of the Siamese King who, not only have responsibility to the court, but also has bear an heir and heiress of the King.” Amelia tapped on the leather pouch motioning that everything she said were written on the letter.
“While it is impossible to return Somdet Chao Khun Phra Felicia to Great Britain, I would suggest a… recognition–?” Her uncertainty made the three British royals confused, but Amelia quickly continued her sentence. “– of the King and the Royal Consort’s marriage.” She could see that the Duke was getting fired up once more, so she quickly added on to her points.
“Of course formally recognising the marriage will bring several benefits such as further strengthening the tie between Great Britain and Siam, after all it is between two high-ranking royals, and this will make it easier for the both of you to keep in touch, whether by letter or getting an attendance with the Royal Consort, and hopefully, the King, and granted easy visitation to the country.” Now this got her grandmother hopeful, and garnered the Queen’s interest at the mention of forming a stronger bond with Siam.
“However– vice versa I am hoping the same benefits apply for Somdet Chao Khun Phra Felicia.” Amelia blatantly stared at the Queen as she asked the last bit.
Right now that is the only solution Amelia could think of. Giving a solution now will buffer her grandparents from bothering her about this matter, and hopefully help her to find a way out of this without interfering with the Bridgerton plot, considering her grandmother is a part of the Bridgerton family.
“Dear… I think what the Ambassador said made sense–” Prince William grumbled at his wife’s words, but he knew what Amelia said was right. His daughter is not someone they could just take out from a country, especially with her status as a Royal Consort who has birthed not only one, but two children of the King.
Amelia munched on her eclair slowly, almost therapeutic, as Prince William contemplated his decision longer. After Amelia’s 2nd eclair, the Duke sighed and nodded, there is no better solution than what the Ambassador provided.
“Alright…I agree to formally recognising the marriage. What step should I take from here?” Amelia smiled behind her cup of tea before proceeding to place it soundlessly on the saucer. “The next step is to bring your daughter back to Great Britain.” The Duke and Duchess turned their heads at Amelia so fast, she was scared it would snap.
“Y-You– Felicia?? Back in Great Britain?” Not yet gramps. Amelia prevented a laugh from escaping, covering it with a nod. “Of course. This is between Great Britain and Siam, no? We will need the Royal Consort in here, therefore she will be able to represent–” The Duchess grabbed Amelia’s hand, startling her. The older woman’s eyes were brimming with tears.
“Lady Chakri, thank you very much. I truly– I do not know what to say, how to thank you–” Amelia felt really bad for her grandparents, right now the only thing she could do is clasped her free hand over the Duchess. “Do not thank me yet, Your Grace. I still need to contact the King and the Royal Consort, and it would take them approximately a month before she arrives here.” Amelia gave her a sweet smile, before sighing, and turned to the Queen.
“Your Majesty, while I am glad for being able to solve this dispute as peacefully as possible, unfortunately I have prior engagement I must attend to. If I may, I would like to excuse myself.” The Queen nodded in agreement, she called the Ambassador in a hurry, and fortunately she arrived despite her busy schedule. Hugo approached them to stand behind Amelia, pulling her chair to give her space to stand up. Amelia turned towards the Duke and Duchess.
“Your Grace, we will be in touch soon after I receive an answer from Siam.” Amelia bowed and turned around, but before she walked away, she froze and turned back to her grandparents. They must have been worried sick about her mother.
“Lynn, give me that newspaper.” The three British royals were confused as the Lady-in-Waiting handed the Ambassador a 2  of newspaper. Amelia gave it a look before placing it on the table, sliding it to the Duke and Duchess.
“Here, I think you will like this. Take it as my apologies for earlier.” The Duke grabbed it to see a clear picture, not a painting, but photo of a familiar beautiful woman with dark hair sitting sideways on a chair, a raven haired male with tan skin leaning on the right side of the chair, one hand holding on the back of the chair while the other gripping the handle, and on the other side stood straight a tall young man with raven hair, they could spot several European features in him.
They probably don’t understand what they are looking at, seeing that now cameras are a Siamese invention, and not yet expanded to Great Britain.
“That is the photograph of your daughter, the Royal Consort Felicia, her husband the King, and their son, Prince Gan. Unfortunately this was taken while their daughter, Princess Apsara was away in Qing.” Choked sobs rising from both the Duke and Duchess, while the Queen stared at the photograph in awe.
“And- What is this painting? It seemed… Extremely realistic?” The Queen turned to Amelia, who is in a dilemma on how to explain the concept of a photograph.
“That is not a painting, but a photograph. Putting it simply, a photograph is like a magic picture made with a special box called a camera.” Amelia tried to explain, and added hand gestures to help them imagine it better.
“Essentially, the job of a camera is to capture exactly what's in front of it, just like a mirror. Different from a painting in which it's a picture made by hand with paints and brushes.” The Queen squinted her eyes, if such a magnificent device exists, why don’t they have it already?
“And why have I yet to hear about this ‘special box’?” The Queen asked challengingly, but Amelia is not one to back down, thus she lightly replied. “Maybe because it’s a Siamese invention. I would have explained more, alas, I have a meeting to attend.” Amelia and Lynn curtsied, and Hugo bowed his head before the three Siamese exited the gazebo.

More Than Diamond's Master List
Thank You Very Much! More Than Diamonds
Pairing: Prince Friedrich x Princess! Reader Description:
A hardcore Bridgerton fan, Davika bit the dust in 2021 during a wild protest against Thailand's king on the way home. But instead of the pearly gates, she woke up in the 19th century, suddenly the offspring of Siam's 2nd king and some British lady of mystery descent. Armed with her modern know-how, her main goal is to stack up that cash and upgrade Siam for some chill vibes to avoid being sold off in some arranged marriage mess. But who knew she'd find herself smack in the middle of her beloved Bridgerton drama series? Talk about a plot twist! How's she gonna handle this? Amelia better watch out not to change the story—or is it too late?
Meanwhile, the Brits are buzzing about their new royal guest just in time for the 1813 debutante ball. Princess Amelia of Siam has rolled in as the fresh Ambassador of Siam. With Daphne and Prince Friedrich's courtship hitting the skids, nobody expected him to stick around London, but Friedrich's not one to skedaddle with his tail between his legs. Homeboy's on a mission to snag a wifey and he's not backing down. Friedrich's never been one to back down, but when it comes to Amelia, he's all cold feet. Folks say Amelia's a brainiac, but love? That's a whole different ball game. Those butterflies in her stomach? Yeah, she ain’t got a clue what to do with 'em.

Chapter 2. Princes and a Princess
Calm down, Davika—No, Apsara. Davika is dead; now she is Somdet Chao Fa Apsara Chaiya Kanika, and she fought for her title. Breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth. You learned this in your overpriced yoga class before you bit the dust and got transported into the middle of the fucking Bridgerton series.
Focus on the present—right now she is having tea with Golda Rosheuvel—Queen Charlotte, the lineup of princes who are yet to marry, and the current Prince Regent, Prince George IV.
“Lady Amelia, I heard that you are a driving force in the Siamese court,” Prince George IV looked at the Siamese Ambassador. He did not know what he expected, but not a petite-looking teenager; she is not even a woman yet. To believe that she has been advising the Crown Prince and King in the Siamese court was truthfully hard.
“Surely you jest, your highness. I am not much of a driving force as you implied. My achievements are minuscule compared to the King and Crown Prince. I merely stated my opinions on several topics. They are generous enough to listen to my chatter,” Amelia politely responded.
“Starting very young, at the age of 13 years old, I heard you had helped the Crown Prince, Prince Rama III, to establish education for girls by creating a law in which every citizen, man or woman alike, had the fundamental rights to education.” Several of the princes chatted with one another; one of them stated how women's education is useless and how their position is to stay at home with the children. Girl—wait till you hear about the 21st century; women can vote and work.
“And pray tell, why did you think education for women is useless, Prince Frederick?” This put the spotlight on Prince Frederick, who was talking to Prince Augustus. The Queen eyed him sharply; Frederick knew he had to thread this carefully, especially since he was in the presence of the Ambassador of Siam; they could potentially pull all rights for trading and business in their land. They cannot afford that right now, not while they are still at war with Napoleon.
“I think women are gentle creatures who need to be loved. Rather than dealing with harsh politics and boring numbers, they should be surrounded by beautiful things. Music, poetry, paintings. Do you not agree, Lady Amelia?” He looked so proud of his words; Amelia wanted to gag at his face, but instead she chuckled and slightly shook her head.
“May I ask you a question?” Still glowing in pride, he only answered with a gesture, which probably meant ‘go ahead.’ “When you were still a child, which parent did you see more? Your father or your mother?” Several of the princes glanced at their mother, including Prince Frederick. The Queen gestured to him to answer Amelia’s question.
“As my father was busy with work, naturally I saw my mother more than him.” Amelia nodded. “And which parent oversees your education? The one who consulted with the governor, asked you about your progress?” Prince Frederick paused before answering, “My mother, of course. Is it not natural that children will spend more time with their mother? After all, fathers are usually busy and away often.” Amelia smiled subtly.
“Absolutely, mothers are the ones who spend more time with their children compared to their father—” “And as they are at home, why would women burden themselves with education? They should focus on raising the children and make sure they are raised properly.” Amelia stared at the prince for several seconds before she picked up her tea to take a sip.
“Queen Charlotte,” Amelia changed her tactics and turned towards the Queen, who was staring at her with interest. “I heard you were originally from Germany?” The Queen blinked and frowned a bit; she was a bit disappointed that the Siamese Ambassador backed down from the debate against her son. Maybe she is not as brilliant as rumoured.
“Why, yes, I came from the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, located in Northern Germany. You should come visit; it is a very beautiful place.” Smiling, The Queen had a look of longing and pride for her country. Amelia nodded. “I will inform the King; maybe he will consider visiting Northern Germany for his annual honeymoon destination.” The Queen nodded with a smile and proceeded to pick up her tea. She was quite pleased with that answer.
“Your Majesty, I am quite curious about the subject of education for European noblewomen. If education is limited to males, what subjects are allowed for noblewomen to learn?” So Lady Amelia did not back down; the Queen smiled behind her cup.
“Noblewomen are taught how to read and write; they learn about cultures, music, art, and literature. However, as the Queen of England, I need to understand the history of the country and calculations.” How will the Ambassador answer her son after she gives her ammunition?
“If you don’t mind me asking, how does your education experience help you manoeuvre your children’s education? Such as, have you ever consulted subjects you deemed more necessary for the princesses and princes with their governor and governess?” Out of the corner of her eye, Amelia eyed Prince Frederick. He was still looking as smug as ever with his lukewarm answer.
“Lady Amelia, my children are the future of the country. My job is to make sure they receive the best education possible, so of course I would need to consult with the governor. God knows how many times I consulted them, and even more often for me to help them learn and understand what they were learning about.” The whole time Amelia was looking at Prince Frederick. “And you raised them beautifully, Your Majesty. They could not be like this without you.” Amelia sweetly smiled at the Queen before fully turning around to face Prince Frederick.
“You see, Prince Frederick. We have established that mothers spend more time with their children, more than their father. Mothers are the ones who oversee their children’s education, but more than that, they are also their first educators.” She needed that. The pettiness to emphasise that word.
“If the mother has no solid education, then it is easy for the children’s education to go astray. It was fortunate that you were born royal with a mother who had received proper education in her early years. Your mother was able not only to consult with the governor and governess but also helped with your learning process. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough.” Amelia knows she has won the argument with these facts; she just… wanted him to burn a bit more.
“Prince George.” The said Prince perked up. “From what I remembered during the introduction, you are the Prince Regent, correct?” “Yes, you are right.” He confirmed as Amelia gave him a strained smile.
“I must confess, I am never one to stick my nose where it doesn’t belong. I don’t know how you run your country, but I know the Siam I envision it to be.” Amelia sighed, her thumb tracing the edge of the saucer.
“We want to establish peace in the country, and we want equality for everyone. That is impossible without having the citizens educated. Women included because women count.” Her light brown eyes met Prince George’s dark ones. He can see it now; this is Lady Amelia, who rose in the Siamese court in a mere three years before starting her role as an Ambassador.
“Because women are a part of our people. The law is not only to give them a chance to do what they want but also to protect the women from getting blamed for their children’s education.” Amelia may sound cocky about this matter. She was aware that this could potentially insult the Queen and the Princes, but since they laid the stage themselves, might as well show them why Siam is not a country to be messed with, why they are a progressive country.
“We need to educate the children and citizens; therefore, they have the ability to process and filter liable information in order to create a strong and united Siam. That is my opinion about why it is necessary to establish the law of education.” As she concluded her discussion, Amelia could see the sour faces of the princes.
Queen Charlotte should be angry at the Ambassador for embarrassing her sons, but Lady Amelia was correct. It was an impressive debate; instead of debating Frederick on what-ifs, Lady Amelia used her, his mother, as an example.
“Now that it’s done, come with me, Lady Amelia. I would love to show you my peacock collection.” Queen Charlotte stood up, followed by Amelia as they exited the room. The princes who were left in the room stared at the two retreating figures before the footman closed the doors.
“What a petty woman. She strung mother along in order to win the argument,” Prince Frederick huffed in distaste as he stared at the closed doors.
“Please, Frederick, you are just angry you lost,” Edward chuckled as he picked up a scone. “I think she is interesting,” he continued while spreading jam before taking a bite of the scone.
“She’s far too young for you, Edward. If you try anything, it will cause a strain in our relationship with Siam,” George said as he picked up two sugar cubes, dropping them into his tea.
***
For almost an hour, Queen Charlotte showed Amelia her colourful peacock collection, which is truly fascinating, as Amelia even got the chance to hand-feed one of the birds under the keeper’s watch, despite Queen Charlotte’s hesitation. Queen Charlotte and Amelia discussed many things: their differences in art and cultures, sports played in each country, fashion, even education. The Queen was so fascinated by Amelia’s decree to make it mandatory for girls to also get education that she questioned the education system in Siam. Amelia really likes talking to Queen Charlotte; she is curious and genuinely interested in her opinions and beliefs, which became her drive to make Siam a better country for the people. Yes, the Queen might be a strict person, but she is someone who is.
“Before I leave, can I ask you something, Your Majesty?” Amelia asked as they ventured into the garden. The Queen glanced at the young lady next to her. “Why of course, ask away, my dear.” Amelia braced herself to spit out the question. “Could you please tell me where the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh live currently?” Out of all the questions the Ambassador could have asked, Charlotte never thought it would be that one. “The— Why?” Compared to debating with one of the princes, the Ambassador looked way more scared asking that question.
“I have a letter I need to deliver. It was a personal request from the King.” Queen Charlotte raised a brow. Her brother-in-law and his wife, Abigail of Gloucester nee. Bridgerton, received a letter from the Siamese Royal family? Amelia caught her expression and quickly explained.
“His Majesty, the King… I heard that he was one of the students of the Siam’s Ambassador to London at the time…” Amelia explained slowly. “Perhaps His Majesty has made some sort of relationship with the Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh during his time here…” The Queen nodded, acknowledging the possibility.
“Alright, I will make sure the letter will reach the Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh. Do you have the letter with you?” Amelia's eyes met the Queen in surprise and nodded her head. “I have it with Lynn, my secretary.” Amelia turned towards Lynn and signalled her to come to her.
“Your Majesty, Milady—” Lynn greeted before continuing with her question. “Anything I could possibly help you with?” Amelia nodded. “Do you bring the letter from His Majesty the King to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh?” Lynn nodded and reached for the handbag she was carrying and took out a leather pouch embossed with the emblem of the Rattanakosin Kingdom.
Amelia grabbed it, and passed it to Queen Charlotte, but was received by her secretary- Brimsley. “Brimsley, quickly send it to Prince William.” Brimsley silently bowed, and exited the room.
“Your Majesty, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity to help me.” Amelia sincerely bowed to the Queen for the help she provided. The Queen merely smiles her way, being sincerely appreciated for her generosity is quite rare these days. The last person who often appreciates her, willing to spend lots of time with her, and someone she genuinely enjoys spending her time with, was her nephew, Princess Felicia of Gloucester, only child and daughter to Prince William Henry and Lady Abigail Bridgerton. Sadly she ran away 23 years ago. The Queen sighed, and focused on the present once more.
“It is alright, dear. However, if you really want to thank me, maybe you can come visit me for tea sometimes.” Amelia gave her a huge smile and nodded. Queen Charlotte was always one of her favourite characters in the Bridgerton series, and despite being a devoted wife and mother, she has quite a tragic background due to the pressure of being a wife, a Queen and a mother.
“Your Majesty, I must thank you for the tour and the delightful afternoon tea. It was refreshingly different from what we have in Siam.” Amelia paused, wondering if she’s allowed to say this. “Queen Charlotte, I must say that I admire you. Not only as a Queen, but also as a mother who is able to raise not only one, but 15 children. I hope your children share the same sentiments.” Amelia gave her a sincere smile and curtsy before walking out.

Chapter 1. Ready, Set, Sail!
[Bangkok, 1812]
Her fast-approaching footsteps echoed in the hall of the Grand Palace. Her long, dark brown hair swaying with every move, the crinkling sound of her bracelets ringing like bells. Reaching the room she was searching for, she slammed the door open without bothering to knock.
“Brother!” She marched inside, stopping just in front of a desk. The man behind the desk glanced up slightly from the documents he was reading, dark brown eyes meeting her light brown ones. Her eyebrows furrowed as a frown marred her face.
“Yes, Apsara?” He sighed and set down his document to give her his full attention. He had a feeling about what they would be discussing now. Amelia’s frown deepened, and her fingers reached to toy with her bracelets, leaving a crinkling sound ringing across the room.
“I am to set sail for England. London, to be precise,” Amelia bitterly spat. Her light brown eyes equally analysed her brother’s movements, the same way he was doing to her right now. His dark brown eyes searched for any muscle movement that might betray her facial expression and let out a low humming sound.
“I see…” He intertwined his fingers on top of his desk. “You will be missed, dear sister. When will your trip start?” While her eyes might not betray her, her jaw did. Amelia tightened her jaw to prevent herself from outright cursing at her brother, Rama III, the strongest candidate for the throne, but more than that, he is her older brother, the one of the bunch who actually cared for her. Or so she thought.
“Do you mean that, brother?” Rama III, or by his birth name, Thap, saw the crestfallen look of his sister and how her voice trembled at the end. He knew she probably felt betrayed and speculated that he was sending her away because he didn’t love her anymore.
“Your absence will certainly be missed, Apsara,” he sincerely said, but this angered her even more. The pale cheeks she got from her mother’s heritage were now red, tears pooled her eyes, and her bottom lip trembled. Now this alarmed him. If she cried out in frustration, he would definitely be in trouble with Father. Truly, he just wanted to tease her a bit before explaining why she was the best candidate to go as an Ambassador, representing Siam.
Despite being half-siblings, Thap was actually doting towards most of his younger siblings, not that he would admit it. However, he had a bigger soft spot for Amelia than others, especially since he saw and took care of her more than his other siblings.
“Brother Thap, are you sending me away?” Aww… This is actually sad. Amelia was now looking very much like the sad wet cat meme. “I cannot say the same about our siblings, but you must know that I have no ambition for the throne, brother. Do remember that my gender disallows me to. I will never covet your right for the throne–” “And I appreciate you for it, Apsara. By no means did I ever think that you would covet the throne,” Amelia looked up at him, all crestfallen.
“Then why did you ask our father to send me away to England? There is no reason for me to be away from my own country and to a faraway land–” Amelia stopped for 3 seconds “Am I being cast away-” “No,” he quickly answered, now she was confused. “Want to give it another go?” Amelia glanced at the ceiling before her eyes were back at him. “I’m getting married-” Thap barked out a laugh “Father would rather shave himself bald than let you get married.” He waved in dismissal.
“I’m getting sold off?” Thap gave her a weirded-out look. “Cattle would be much more beneficial. We are not lacking in funds that we need to sell you off–” Well, rude. “Then why are you sending me away to England?” Amelia groaned, frustrated.
“You are to represent Siam in England as the new ambassador.” Amelia looked at her brother, flabbergasted. “Brother… You are the ambassador. You are Siam’s Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs. I can’t do that to you.” Thap nodded with a smile and got up from his seat to stand in front of his younger sister.
“Many people said that I am the most intelligent out of all the siblings, but we know that is untrue. Everyone in the Siamese court knows I can’t become the Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs without you, and I am upset despite being the one deserving of the position, you are being prevented by your gender.” He stroked Amelia’s head gently.
"I know you love Siam, which is why you are so against leaving the country, but right now, Siam needs your help to solidify our position internationally, and we need the best person to represent us. There is nobody better than you, Apsara. One day, when I take the throne, I want to change our country. I want you to be Siam’s very first female Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs." Amelia took a sharp breath, and she stared at her brother. Scrunching her face a bit, she let out her breath of defeat.
“There is no end when it comes to arguing with you, brother. If you are sure about this… Then I will accept the mission. Father arranged for me to depart in January.” Amelia leaned forward and hugged her older brother affectionately.
“So you will set sail in January. Make sure to choose your staff, 10 people, and we will prepare your residence there. Also, go to your mother.” Amelia distanced herself from him. “10 staff? Why do I need so many people?” Thap just realised that all this time Amelia prepared him to deal with foreign affairs, but this will be her first time travelling abroad. His sister will be on a boat for a month and then be in another country for… He doesn’t know how many months or even years. Colours start to drain from his face. His sister… She will be vulnerable.
“Apologies, sister. Make it 20.” “20 staff? Whatever for?” Amelia blinked as Thap continued to pat her head. “Maids to take care of the house, head-chef and sous-chefs, personal doctors, ladies-in-waiting, lord-in-waiting for foreign affairs, baroness-in-waiting for dealing with high-society, especially when dealing with the wives and at least 6 royal guards.” Amelia wanted to reject and say that amount of people is too much, but she knows it’s no use to argue with her brother. He is like a dog with a bone and will never let go, so she just nods.
***
[Bangkok, 1813]
This is it… No backing down. Tomorrow, Amelia must depart for England, a foreign land far from her home. She has been to London before, far in the future, when she was still Pimchanok Davika Yontararak. Amelia wanted to survive and see Siam, or what in the future would be Thailand, thrive. Instead of becoming a diplomat, she pushed her brother, Rama III, to be the perfect diplomat and politician. He has the potential.
Now Amelia can’t hide behind her brother as he pushes her forward into the limelight. Like Davika, who flew to America, tomorrow, Amelia will set sail to England, once again as a diplomat. ‘What a terrifying coincidence,’ Amelia thought to herself as she watched her maids packing up belongings that will be in her carry-on.
Amelia must admit, her greed to make Siam a great country has pushed timelines forward. Siam’s openness towards modernization and western nations was supposed to happen in the future, during her younger brother, Mongkut’s reign. Yet, she is stealing ideas from people and stealing ideas from the future, developing them themselves.
“What are you thinking so hard, Apsara?” Her mother placed a palm on her shoulder as she joined her on the bed. “Nothing, mother. Just dreading the long journey to England. I will be on a boat for a whole month.” Amelia sighed and leaned her head on her mother’s shoulder.
“Oh, I know, honey.” Her mother kissed her on the forehead. “I remember how I travelled to Ayutthaya all those years ago. It took me 1 and a half months to arrive.” This made Amelia sigh and sneak her arms, looping it on her mother’s waist. “I’m going to miss you, mother.” Her mother hugged her close, stroking her back and combing her hair with her dainty fingers.
“Ahem—” And just like that, their mother-daughter moments were ruined. Amelia looked behind her shoulder to see her father standing there. Her light brown eyes narrowed as her piercing gaze pinned on her father. “Seeing your daughter for the last time before exiling her to another man’s land, dear father?” Her father, Rama II, or known by his birth name as Chim, rolled his eyes as he walked inside her chamber, passing through the bowing maids.
“Stop being dramatic, Amelia. I’m here to see my wife, right, Felicia?” He tore her mother from her embrace and brought her to his lap as he sat on her bed. Felicia quickly encircled her arms around his neck and his on her waist.
“How was your day, darling?” Felicia asked as he was busy leaving kisses on her cheek. Amelia groaned at the public display of affection and flopped back on her belly. “Can you love birds leave my chamber? If you want to act all romantic, please do it somewhere more private so I will not be scarred for life.” Chim gave her a teasing look.
“Then find one for yourself—” Amelia sat up. “If I find one there, I’d have to go wherever he goes. Do you really want that?” His smile dropped so fast. “No. You’re there to work, not to find a husband. Apsara, you better not go back with a suitor or worse—pregnant.” Felicia laughed at her husband’s overprotectiveness of their daughter. This made Chim pouted a bit as Amelia chuckled and shook her head. “Come on, darling. Apsara needs to sleep as she needs to wake up early tomorrow.” Chim was still pouting, but he followed his wife. The pair went out after giving her a kiss on the forehead.
***
Her departure was quick and not all that touching, to be honest. Her father and brother, Rama III, acted all formally about this. They reminded her of her responsibility as Siam’s representative in England and told her, while she is an ambassador, she is also a princess. If anyone at all tries to besmirch her name, Siam will not hesitate to reciprocate and declare war.
“Oh, my daughter Apsara.” Felicia hugged her only child and daughter. “You are now so big and about to travel all on your own.” She cupped Amelia’s face using both of her hands. Her mother was warm, was what Amelia was thinking about. She will definitely miss her mother’s warmth.
“Apsara, I need you to do me a favour.” Felicia handed her a necklace with a locket and a letter. “Give this to the Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh, Prince Henry William of Gloucester, or the Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh, Abigail of Gloucester. I need you to find them for me.” Amelia gave it a look before accepting the letter and necklace with a nod. “Alright, mother. I will make sure to give it to them and send you a letter once I do.” Felicia nodded and gave Amelia a hug one last time.
The sight of her family waving on the dock as she set sail was something she would never forget. Her younger brother from a different mother, Mongkut, was crying as he held on to his father. Amelia was surprised; after all, despite helping with his education, she could not say they have the best relationship. At most, they were civilised with each other.
Amelia turned around once the ship was far enough from the sight of her family. Well, this is it. The start of her month-long journey to England.
***
[London, 1813]
Contrary to what she thought, a month passed by quickly. Throughout her journey, she managed to visit many countries and grasp the basics of their main supplies and demands. This was important information, after all, so she tried to gather as much as possible and planned to write this back to Rama III as soon as she arrived in London.
As soon as she arrived in London, Amelia and her 20 staff were greeted by the British King’s Guards. Hugo, her lord-in-waiting, was sorting it out with the guards. Soon, they were divided into 4 carriages. Amelia, her lord and lady-in-waiting, along with the Siamese Royal Guards, all headed to the palace, while the rest of her entourage were sent to her mansion, one that was prepared by her father.
Buckingham Palace was grand, although lacking in colour; most of the exterior of the building was cream and white. Very different from the palace back home with all the intricate shapes and gold colours.
Right now, Amelia was waiting to be presented to the Queen of England, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III, and one of the more prominent characters in the Bridgerton series. Man… She didn’t even get to watch Anthony’s season as she died too soon… Amelia sighed as she toyed with her rows of gold bracelets on her arms. She had replaced her headdress with a simple tiara while she was in England and decided to only wear it during formal occasions.
A knock erupted from the door. One of her guards opened the door along with Hugo. It was one of the Queen’s ladies-in-waiting. She was here to inform them the Queen was ready for their appearance.
“Lady Amelia, Queen Charlotte of England is ready,” Hugo informed her as she nodded. “Alright,” Amelia replied, standing up, and Lynn, her lady-in-waiting, helped to straighten her clothes.
“Once you are in front of the room, wait for a moment as the Queen’s guard will announce your arrival,” Hugo explained to Amelia the procedure in Siamese language. Amelia nodded. “Will it only be the Queen?” Hugo shook his head. “Aside from the Queen and her ladies-in-waiting, I heard she also gathered her children. The King, on the other hand, is absent as he has been ill for some while.” Amelia nodded, and they stopped their conversation as they arrived in front of the room.
“Ambassador of Siam, Lady Amelia Chakri.” The door was soon opened, and Amelia quickly looked straight at the Queen, who was standing in the middle of a podium, surrounded by her ladies-in-waiting; she could see the Princes and Princesses standing on either side of the podium. Amelia tried to remain stable and perfect.
With practised grace, Amelia kept her gaze straight on the Queen as she walked with poise. Her steps were confident and never faltered. Several steps from the podium, Amelia stopped and did a proper curtsy to the Queen and greeted with a simple ‘Your Majesty’. No suspicion there…
As Amelia ascended, she could see the satisfied smile of the Queen. The Queen stepped down from the podium to greet Amelia. Her eyes wavered a bit. Fuck-
“Greetings, Lady Amelia. I hope there was no trouble on your trip here.” Amelia gave the Queen a smile. “There was none, your majesty.” The Queen nodded before she gestured to her children. No way…
“Lady Amelia, I would like to introduce you to my children,” It was a long introduction and chat as one by one, all her 15 children were introduced to her. Queen Charlotte had the face of Golda Rosheuvel- The actress who played Queen Charlotte in the Bridgerton series.

Thank You Very Much! More Than Diamonds
Pairing: Prince Friedrich x Princess! Reader
Description: Britain has gained themselves a new royalty nearing the debutante ball of 1813. Princess Amelia of Siam was sent as the new Ambassador of Siam. In Britain Princess Amelia was able to find her family, but will that be all?
After the failed courting between Daphne and prince Friedrich, it was a surprise to everyone that he stayed in London. However, Prince Friedrich is anything, but a coward. He came to Britain to find a wife and one failed courting will not chase him out of the country with a tail between his legs.
What both Amelia and Friedrich never thought to happen is, the friendship that blossomed between them and their growing feelings for one another.
Friedrich was never a coward, but he is when it comes to Amelia. Everyone said Amelia is a genius, but not when it comes to love, because she is truly lost on what to do with these butterflies in her stomach.

Princess Amelia of Siam
Tumblr media
"What romance? I have no time for such nonsense. I was merely attempting to forge a diplomatic relation between Siam and Prussia." - Amelia Chaiya Kanika, Princess of Siam
Prince Friedrich of Prussia
Tumblr media
"Truthfully I am afraid. It felt like I'm the only one falling, while she stayed rooted... Unmoved. I want her, yet I do not want to lose what we have... To sacrifice what we have built." - Prince Friedrich of Prussia
Daphne Basset (nee. Bridgerton)
Tumblr media
"Amelia is different... She is uptight and serious, but at the same time extremely intelligent. Unfortunately, romance is a foreign subject for her and I think... There is nobody more fitting to teach her than you." - Daphne Basset (nee. Bridgerton)
Anthony Bridgerton
Tumblr media
"I would say out of all Bridgerton, we are the most similar... Which is why I hope for you to learn from my mistakes. Life is short Mel, you need to enjoy it while it lasts. Doing something you want is not selfish... Loving someone is not selfish." - Anthony Bridgerton
Benedict Bridgerton
Tumblr media
"Say, Mel... What is your idea of fun? One which excludes activities that require you to think? Frankly I think you need it. Go outside, make friends, go to parties and promenades. Have fun. For sometime, forget your responsibilities and live a little." - Benedict Bridgerton
Colin Bridgerton
Tumblr media
"I understand what you meant. How looking at this brought you peace, but Mel... Don't you think you too need to start listening to that advice?" - Colin Bridgerton
Charlotte of Mcklenburg-Strelitz
Tumblr media
"I suppose for him a mere diamond won't do. She must be the epitome of perfection. An intelligent, beautiful and elegant woman. Who fits better for a prince than an actual princess?" - Queen Charlotte
