Happy Birthday Breonna!

Today Is June, 5th 2020. Breona Taylor would have been 27 today. For those who don’t know, she was killed two months ago when police broke down the door to her apartment in an attempted drug sting, and shot her eight times.

SAY HER NAME! She hasn’t gotten as much media attention that she so rightfully deserves! Here is what you can do to help. Here are some concrete action items people can do to commemorate her life and fight to get her justice. Complete as many items on the list as you can and share the link to this campaign so that other people can complete it too. 

ACTION ITEM #1 SIGN THE PETITION

Sign the official petition calling for justice in Breonna Taylor’s case. It only takes a minute.

ACTION ITEM #2 DONATE TO THE GOFUNDME

Donate directly to Breonna’s family using the Gofundme link below. Any little bit helps even if you don’t have much to give. Let’s get them to their $500,000 goal for her birthday.

ACTION ITEM #3 EMAIL THE KENTUCKY ADMIN

Send an email directly to the Kentucky Attorney General, the Mayor and the Governor. The link below will open a fully scripted email in your mail app, already addressed. Fill out the fields for your name and location and send! Easy peasy. Let’s make sure they’re hearing about Breonna Taylor no matter where they look.

ACTION ITEM #4 POSTABLE BIRTHDAY CARDS

2a. Send a birthday card (or letter, or postcard!) to the Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, demanding that he lay charges against the officers who killed Breonna.

2b. If you can, also send a card to Louisville Metro Mayor Greg Fischer demanding that he fall in line and support charges for her killers.

Make art, write poetry, post music — anything that will remind people that she lived and that her life mattered. Post it to your Instagram feeds, Stories, Twitter, Facebook or Tik Tok. Anything that will get the word out. Let’s make June 5th Breonna Taylor Day.

anyone who says they don’t make nonwhite sims because they’re white and they’ve grown up in a dominantly white area is stupid and a cringe baby like... do you really expect me to believe you’ve never seen a SINGLE nonwhite person before, ever? I’ll play devil’s advocate for a second and say that, hey, even if you’ve somehow never seen a nonwhite person before, you’re posting on tumblr, which suggests you have some access to the internet, and therefore you’ve access to literally billions of pictures of individuals who aren’t white, right at your disposal. even if “I grew up in a small town and only knew white people, therefore I don’t create nonwhite sims because I was never exposed to nonwhite people in real life” was a viable excuse, which it isn’t, but even if it was, it still doesn’t erase the glaring fact that google exists? which is interesting. it’s almost like when you say that, it’s in a desperate, pathetic attempt to excuse yourself from the responsibility of creating diverse characters.
