I just finished my second multi-chapter fic! It's a little over 30k words across 9 chapters and takes place about midway through season 1 of Code Geass.

Lelouch launches an attack on the Lancelot, not knowing Suzaku is the pilot. Cue the angst when he finds out his best friend was in there and is now fighting for his life.

After a failed attempt to rescue Rei from his disastrous night swim during a storm, Nagisa, Haru, and Makoto are swept out to sea alongside him, ending up on a deserted island. Exhausted and stranded with no way back but to swim, their situation turns critical when Nagisa is bitten by a snake.

Summary: In a new tactic to make it easier to get to Cornelia, Lelouch strategically orders the Black Knights to target the deft Britannian knightmare frame in white armor in an all out attack. The plan succeeds, but Lelouch discovers it was at a great cost; becoming shaken to the core when he later learns that it was Suzaku piloting the knightmare frame, sustaining severe injuries and now left in critical condition directly from Lelouch’s command.

Now faced with a difficult decision, Lelouch finds himself torn between his duties as Zero, leading the Black Knights, and his loyalty to his friend, who may not survive his injuries. As Suzaku fights for his life and grapples with his own mortality and his desire for a noble death, Lelouch must confront the consequences of his actions and decide where his true priorities lie - leading a rebellion, or being there for his injured friend.
