A bit late. I was at the renaissance faire today and thoroughly enjoyed myself. (I'm pretty sure I'm going tomorrow, as well, as the ticket included both days.) But it has left me quite worn out.

“Huh.”

Huh? That was… not quite the response Stephen was looking for post kiss hello.

Stephen waited a moment—huh normally precipitated further response—but gave in after an extended moment of silence. “Is there anything following that?” he asked. “Or are you going to leave me in suspense on what has you so confused.”

“Not confused,” Tony retorted immediately. “I save confusion for things like the intricacies of the written word and disentangling human emotions.”

Stephen rolled his eyes. “Poetry is not that confusing, Tony.”

“Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose,” Tony quoted. “What is that even supposed to mean?”

Sacred Emily should probably not have been the first poem Stephen had shown Tony—who was perilously unacquainted with art that manifested in the form of written word. Stephen was fixing that. As for the poem, in Stephen’s defense, Tony had sprawled against him and made himself at home in Stephen’s personal space so he could read over Stephen’s shoulder.

Tony was lucky Stephen liked having a partner that physically affectionate.

“That’s beside the point,” Stephen said. “What was the cause of your ‘huh’?”

“Your eyes are green,” Tony said promptly.

Stephen stared at him for a long moment, entirely confused. “…yes?” Was this new information? At this point in their relationship it should really not be new information.

“I’ve just always thought of them as blue,” Tony said. “But they’re not. Or not just blue.”

“I’m trying to decide if I should be offended,” Stephen mused after a moment of taking that in. “My eyes are one of the things I like most about myself. You clearly haven’t appreciated me properly.”

Tony rolled his eyes. “I appreciate you plenty. And the things you like most about yourself have nothing to do with your looks.”

True. On both counts. “It’s called sectoral heterochromia, It’s a fairly rare condition.”

“I know what it’s called,” Tony protested. “I just hadn’t noticed.” He leaned in for another kiss, before pulling back, gaze scrutinizing as though he was taking in Stephen’s appearance all over again.

“They’re beautiful,” Tony said. “But everything about you is.”

Stephen didn’t flush, even if he was pleased. Not everyone thought that about his appearance—peculiar had been one of the nicer critiques—but there was no missing the genuine appreciation from Tony.

And really, Tony was the only one whose opinion mattered.

Watching thunderbolts for the first time, they’re standing in the avengers tower and all I can think about is Tony and fact that they had to sell the avengers tower.. 😞

Tony Stark believed that he was designed to be an asshole.

He was raised by Howard, suffered the trauma of losing his parents young, then raised by Obadiah who ended up showing his true colours in the worst way.

He was hated in school for being too smart. Hated in university for being too young. Hated in his own company for being too cocky.

He told Pepper, once, early on in their relationship that he was never going to have children because he was sure he would be the worst father. She had brushed him off back then, but Tony would never put someone through that childhood.

And then, a 15 year old disaster with an attitude and crazy super powers stumbled into his life. At first, he thought it was a disaster waiting to happen. He tried not to get too close.

But when Peter Parker got angry at him, Tony didn’t feel a desire to hit him. He shouted back, he got frustrated and angry and wanted to break something in the lab after the argument was over but he never, not once, considered hitting him.

And when Peter was in a dangerous situation, Tony did everything in his power to help him. Not because he thought he had to, but because he wanted to.

When Peter told Tony that he was getting picked on in school because no one believed him about the internship, Tony personally visited Midtown Tech. It brought back ugly memories of high school and sitting at a parent-teacher conferences next to an empty chair because his mother was too busy. But he was there. He showed up for that kid in a way people never showed up for him.

And it made him realise. It made him realise that the bad people in his life weren’t programmed that way, they chose to do bad things. His father chose to say those words to him. His mother chose to never apologise to him. Obadiah chose to betray him.

And maybe, Tony could choose to be a good parent.

The myth that Tony despises old technology

And everything retro in general. This myth is popular, but are we talking about the same person?

Because MCU Tony:

Has a collection of old cars, including 1932 Ford Flathead Roadster.

Has a retro racing car for the Monaco Grand Prix Historique.

Knows how to handle a tractor from 1950s.

Uses a vinyl record player instead of just telling his AI to play a digital file.

Also has a jukebox in his lab.

Keeps a projector for old videotapes (probably in case his father left an important message from the 1970s).

Conclusion: canon Tony not only does not despise old technologies, but sometimes prefers them to new ones. He is a nostalgic guy who will be delighted if he gets his hands on something vintage and interesting.

i like how armored adventures had howard be a good dad and that it uses a lot of iron mans rogue gallery

Seeing it from that perspective would be cool. Since Howard Stark is a total jerk within the MCU and comics/AA ( I think? ) . I only really liked him in Agent Carter, which he was sorta reasonable, despite lying to Peggy— his character was just easier there for sure. But yeah, hopefully I’ll blog about it soon!
