Changes? (Again?)
I got annoyed--again. I’ve started to dislike the fact that with my main writing blog I can’t submit questions/prompts/responses to other peeples under that name and get responses. It all credits to my main name, formerly eevee0011, or I have to click anonymous. As of right now, I’ve got a little over 40 followers, but I want to build my blog up to more than that, and I have a feeling that the lack of being able to connect as well to it is a bit of a hindrance.
So for those of you who do actively follow me, I’m gonna point you over to my main account tumblrblog, which will function as the main spot where I’ll be posting from now on.
Here it is!
I hope y’all will follow me over there! I’ll definitely be getting more active over the next two months because NaNoWriMo, and posting updates of my novel. :3

For NaNoWriMo is it suggested that on day 1 you start with a story you haven't begun writing? I've got 7,000 words from a story I'd like to finish, but read somewhere that it's generally advised not to drag old work into NaNoWriMo. Thoughts?
The recommendation is that if this is your first year, you should start from scratch so you get the full thrill of writing with abandon that you need to write 50K words in a month. But NaNo Rebels are allowed of pretty much all types and YMMV.
7K is not that far in. I would suggest challenging yourself to take that to 57K in a month. Because finishing your stuff is way more important than an arbitrary rule. Take the time now to research and outline.

I feel a little like the moon who took possession of you for a moment and then returned your soul to you. You should not love me. One ought not to love the moon. If you come too near me, I will hurt you.

Plot the Middle of Your Story
Plot the Middle of Your Story
Oh, the middles. Aren’t those just the worst part to write? Ironic, considering they are usually the most fun part of the story to read!* But from the writer’s perspective, they’re the part where you need to set the scene for your climax but keep the reader guessing yet interested… It’s not easy to do at all! But we can learn how to do it. (more…)

just started and finished Wilde Life yesterday, such a brilliant comic! Your dialogue is absolutely incredible, I can't remember how many times I laughed. The characters have such great chemistry and I'm fascinated by the story and where you might take it. Very much in love with your work and I look forward to reading more :)
Thanks! This is a really nice message and I appreciate it!
This whole week has just been pretty surreal. On Monday, Wilde Life served over a million pageviews, which just feels like this big pretend number to me. I think we’ve all been conditioned by our access to information, media, and advertising to be a bit cynical, so the fact that people even gave my comic a chance feels really big to me. I’ve been putting comics on the internet for over twelve years now and nothing like this has ever happened to me. I’m just really happy that people liked it.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Things definitely start to get a bit twisty in Chapter 4. I’m excited to start posting it on Monday! >:)

Hey, Writers
Yes, you. You, with the pen in hand, the laptop atop your lap. You, with the scribbles and the scrawls. You with the tappity-taps and clickity-clicks. You, with the eraser marks. You, with the red and green squiggles. You, who knows a piece of written paper equals a little more than half a typed page. You, who knows 50,000 words is about 100 regular pages. You, who doesn’t know how to spell a word because you’ve only heard it spoken, but never seen it written. You, who stuffed your work in the attic drawer. You, who saved your story inside a chain of files so nobody would read it by accident.
Your writing is important. Don’t give up.
